America's Toughest Jobs, NBC
No Comments
After the last three weeks in frozen Alaska, America’s Toughest Jobs thaws out by returning to the continental United States. California to be exact for some monster trucking! This week the ten remaining members of the crew were put to the test through three monster truck jam courses. It all began with a little practice where some proved strong while others fell short. Before the practice began we saw a short segment from Rick who grew up loving the same truck he was about to drive. He went more in depth with his past, saying how he was homeless at the age of three.
With the boss overseeing everything the crew were always being watched and critiqued. Those who stepped up the game were the three girls and Ben, all doing well during the initial test and showing progress. The show tended to focus on those who did bad as it was the most entertaining. First up was Eric who is a bit schitzo it seems. After having his truck shut off by the boss he continued to cost down the track, almost running into a wall. Chris didn’t do any better as he throttled for too long, also having his car shut off. Even though he was told seconds before that he should brake if his car is shut off, Chris continued to glide scaring even the most professional guys there. Chris didn’t take kindly to the incident and, like his past driving job, gave excuses that made no sense. Last up for mistakes was Bryce who made a huge one. After learning the hand signals on when to start and stop, Bryce apparently forgot them. As the released gave him a thumbs up Bryce pushed the gas and sped onto the track. His car was immediately stopped as he almost his the official who was supposed to give him the ok to go. It seems a thumbs up means “are you ready” rather then “GO” and Bryce mixed the two up. It didn’t look good for him but others would thankfully save him in the end.

Big Brother 10, CBS
No Comments
Big Brother is known for its sudden change in power and tonight is no different. Following the Power of Veto ceremony both Steven and Dan realized that one of them would surely be going home. Both took a different approach to stay with Dan staying quiet and Steven pushing people to vote in his corner. Steven made the first move by asking one side of the house to keep him in the game. That side just happened to be the one aligned with Keesha and it almost seemed like they were swinging is way and could vote for Steven to stay. Dan, on the other hand, stood with Jessie and Michelle and told both of them to let him know if he should start campaigning.
It was obvious that the house was now divided into three sections. The first is Libra, April, Ollie and Keesha hanging on by a thread. They are act like they are tight but there are cracks that have formed as the three girls can’t stand each other. The other side is more solidified being Angie, Michelle, Memphis and Jessie. While outside Angie let Memphis know she can’t stand Libra and April and it’s obvious there is about to be a battle between the two groups. Last by not least are the floaters who really have no loyalty to anyone at the moment. Renny, Jerry and Dan as of now have no set alliance and could really be the swing vote for the rest of the game. Winning HoH for one of them would surely pull them to a side and I await that to happen.
When it came time for Julie to pop up she had a few interesting questions for the houseguests. I’m really liking the live shows this year as Julie is doing a great job and this time around the live audience added much more to the show. After bringing up the Jerry/Libra fight, Julie turned to Ollie and April who were visibly nervous about talking about their “romance”. If you’ve been following the feeds you would know they’ve gotten very “close” and I think the producers wanted some chatter on that. But to their dismay neither April or Ollie revealed their actions to the house or the world but they did hint at least!
The first family package was then shown as the Renny and Jessie fight was brought up again. Both of their families were asked about not only their loved ones but how they saw their enemy as well. Renny’s family were very happy for their mom and also very against Jessie. Renny’s son continuously called Jessie a weasel but Jessie’s mother disagreed. She felt her son was great on the show and much more then a body, like he always says. It was interesting to see how the families took sides and for once stuck with their loved ones in the house. In previous seasons we’ve seen family members turn against their loved ones but this year it is a nice change of pace!
After a quick chat with Jessie it was time for Dan and Steven to give their possible final words. Dan was rather quick and basically said Sharon’s famous words, that if it was his time to go it was his time to go. Steven took a completely different route though, like he’s promised all week, and pulled a more humorous “Chelsia”. He quoted some fun sayings from the house and basically told everyone to “suck it” but in a more funny way. It was good to see the houseguests have fun on eviction night rather then blast out of the house in anger like some have in the past. When all the votes were cast it was unanimous for Steven to leave the house with a 9 to 0 vote. Not even his good friend Keesha could throw him a pity vote and he was out the door.
For the HoH competition the houseguests were treated to some scare tactics as aliens appeared several times behind the mirrors. April, Renny and Jessie saw the crazy ET like creatures and seemed more in shock then scared. Of course it was just a rubber alien with a green light shining on it but still rather humorous. The HoH wasn’t based on the alien sightings though but rather what they “abducted”. Several things were removed from the house and it was the houseguests job to remember which room and which items were removed.
To begin the challenge were Dan and April who were chosen as random. Dan buzzed in first and with a correct guess knocked April out of the HoH and chose Libra and Renny to compete next. With a wrong answer Renny took herself out and allowed Libra to choose Memphis and Angie to compete for the third question. After getting the answer right Memphis knocked out Angie and chose Keesha and Michelle to compete. Michelle took herself out and Keesha chose Libra and Dan. Libra made it through again taking out Dan, giving Keesha and Memphis a shot at the next question. Getting her first question right, Keesha took Memphis out of the game and forced Ollie and Libra to compete. Libra continued her streak and took out Ollie, pitting the final challenge for the HoH between herself and Keesha. After getting her last question wrong, Libra handed over the HoH to Keesha. This should be a VERY interesting week since Keesha is on the fence with her current alliance. Will she turn on the girls and Ollie or will she do their dirty work? Stay tuned to find out!

A&E, Psychic Kids
No Comments
After watching A&Es Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal I have a greatly deeper and better understanding of just how scary and true seeing spirits can be. Of course there have been “ghost shows” out there before, but Psychic Kids was truly a moving experience that will forever change my view of the paranormal. The beginning seemed somewhat odd as we heard stories from three girls, Ahli (11), Jillian (12) and Faith (8) who claimed to seem ghosts and auroras. The show didn’t try to push the fact that they were being honest and truthful at the start but towards the end they didn’t have to. All three girls proved that they were the real deal and also opened themselves up for the camera to catch.
Ahli was somewhat the “odd girl out” of the bunch as she generally didn’t see ghosts but rather aurora’s. She can see different colors surrounding people that mean different things. Once she claims she ran into a man with a purple aurora, which to her means he is sick, and two days later the man died of a heart attack. If that wasn’t enough at the weekend retreat a specialist was called in. They both drew the o of the producer of the show and Ahli’s matched that of the specialist’s drawing. Later in the weekend she was also shown how to find people’s injuries or pains and help in healing. Ahli hovered her hands over Jillian’s mother, finding that she had problems with her chest and one knee. Jillian’s mother then clarified this was fact as she’s had bronchitis and her knee had been giving out.
Jillian was one of the two girls who could speak and interact with the dead. She saw a small boy in her home along with a lady named Emily. This Emily was the one causing most of the problems as she scolded Jillian and tried to make her do things. Jillian’s “proof” came when she saw her mother’s dead sister. Her mother had never told Jillian she had a twin who died at birth so this came as a shock to both her mother and to me as that is pretty amazing! Towards the end of the show Jillian was able to call out Emily and release her grasp. We also learned she believed Emily was her mother in a past life and Chip, the psychic medium specialist, confirmed this may be true.
Most of the beginning and end of the show focused on the youngest of the three, Faith. Her family was having a hard time believing their daughter had nothing more than an invisible friend and it was causing stress on the family. At the retreat Faith’s friend Freddie was found to actually exist in the time period she claimed he did. His mother Catherine, who Faith also sees, was also on Freddie’s records. This was an amazing segment as we learned that Faith does in fact have some ability to read into the world of spirits. If anyone thinks she’s lying after that they should seriously be put in jail. Towards the end of the show Faith had a traumatic experience as it seems Catherine lashed out at her, putting Faith in a state of terror. Chip along with Jillian were able to help Faith coax Catherine out and turn her away. In the end it seems Faith was able to release her fear of Catherine and remove her from her psychic experience.
The three girls shown on Psychic Kids were amazing. They prove to me that spirits and the world of the paranormal do in fact exist and isn’t just something we imagine. I hope to continue me journey with Psychic Kids and I hope it continues to change not only my view, but others as well, on the world of spirits and the paranormal.

CBS, Survivor Micronesia
No Comments
So I finally got around to seeing the finale of Survivor Micronesia and all I can say is wow. I didn’t see half of that coming. If you read my finale prediction I was as wrong as could be as I didn’t expect a F2 and didn’t expect Parvati to come anywhere close to a win. It was interesting to see that they went right into a final four immunity without the “rights of passage” ceremony so I figured something was up. At the challenge I got somewhat nervous as Natalie was in the lead early and that usually guarantees a win but Amanda scooped up her first immunity this season ensuring she’d be in the final three.
At this point I figured Natalie would go but then Cirie’s name came into the pot and well I was not happy about that. Parvati and Amanda figured it would be a final three for the end vote and felt Cirie would be hard to beat. She did have a lot of friends on the jury as well as being a great talker. It really wasn’t known going into what was thought as the final tribal who was going between Cirie and Natalie. Then Cirie had to open her mouth and mention how she felt at the bottom of the totem poll when it came to Parvati and Amanda so I thought her fate was sealed. Once the votes were cast though Natalie’s name came out with 3 - 1 votes and luckily Cirie pulled through to an all favorite final three of women.
The three girls wok up the next morning expecting food and got nothing but a paddle of doom. It let them know that there was still another immunity challenge and therefore this meant it was a final two once again. I’m not sure why they switched back but this is the one time I wish they would have ended at a final three. Amanda took it the worst as she broke down to both Parvati and Cirie. She didn’t want to play the game anymore and it made everyone remember she’s been playing the game for almost six months straight.
After Amanda pulled it together the three women went off for the rights of passage ceremony as they laid each voted out torch to rest. Most of the fans didn’t have much to be said about as none of the three really got to meet some of them but most were memorable statements from those voted out and made me realize I forgot about half the people voted out pre-merge. I didn’t remember most of the fans who were out early and I now realize I didn’t care about half of the fans.
The last immunity challenge was actually very simple yet very interesting. The three girls had to balance several blocks by only two end paddles. They also made it a bit harder by forcing them to make sure a small ball didn’t move from the rod they were creating. All three did fairly well until Parvati fell out half way through. This meant that either Cirie or Amanda would win and both made it to the last round where whoever dropped out first would give the immunity to the other. Both were shaking and off balance throughout the time but Cirie slipped first giving Amanda another shot at the final tribal council and this time the sole power to send someone home.
When the three got back to camp Cirie basically knew she wouldn’t be making it to the finals once again but Amanda gave her some hope. She realized that Parvati did play a very social game and had some friends on the jury while Cirie hadn’t made that many tight bonds. Also Parvati gave her some reason to take Cirie as she told her that Cirie would never win against herself. Amanda then went to the last tribal council run down and spent. It was assumed she’d vote out Cirie but I guess the way this season was going anything could have happened. The way Amanda was crying and freaking out made it seem her decision was harder then it seemed. In the end she sent Cirie packing and lost her vote in the end because of it.
At the last tribal council Amanda and Parvati both took heat. Amanda was only praised by Ozzy (who professed his love for her) and James since both hated Parvati with a vengeance. Although they were new Alexis and Natalie had the best and strangest questions. Alexis was really good at pinpointing Amanda’s acting during tribal while Natalie just continued her psycho reign by basically professing her love for Parvati. She wanted to know how her flirting and strategic skills were represented “in the bedroom”, alas having the most pointless question in Survivor history.
Before the votes were read I had a feeling Amanda would win as she wasn’t as bashed as badly as Parvati was but I was once again wrong. In the end the votes came out 3 for Amanda and 5 for Parvati, meaning Amber 2.0 won Survivor Micronesia. Jeff Probst basically called Parvati the new Amber and he was right as she became the 16th winner of a million dollars and the first female winner since Guatemala. In the end it was a great season with shocks after shocks, even the winner was a shock! Now we turn our minds to Survivor Gabon which I predicted would be the location a few weeks ago. It looks amazing and for the first time it will be shot in high definition. Can Gabon top Micronesia? We can only hope! (Oh and yes, Amanda and Ozzy are now dating)

Paradise Hotel 2
No Comments
On the last Paradise Hotel James was barely saved after being named the least trustworthy out of all the guests in the Hotel. He was then given even more power to send someone home and used it to better himself in the game. This week that power came back to bite him as everyone now turned against him. He tried to talk himself out of it but nobody seemed to care. If you remember James could have chose to send himself home over Myrna and chose not too. Several of the guests, including his once best friend Krista, disagreed with that move, ensuring that he’d probably be the next to go.
The next morning it was announced that Stephanie and Zack had “crushed” and have become the new love couple since Tanya left a few episodes ago. The girls’ breakfast was then shown with them discussing the game and the random nature of it as they never know what’s going on. At lunch time an infamous envelope was presented that let Zack know that he and the girls would be getting their own excursion. The three remaining guys would be sent on their own adventure which would lead to more James drama.
Zack and the girls were taken to a ranch where they rode horses along the beach. I wish they would have brought some of these excursion into play throughout the entire show as it gives a nice break from the regular hotel setting. After their horseback riding was over the four sat down to have some desert and yet another envelope appeared. TD read it and let Zack know that he had choose one of the three girls to spend the night with him in the “romantic setting”. He chose Stephanie for obvious reasons and the excursion was then over for TD and Krista.
The three guys also got some vacation time and spent it at a small beach. They swam a bit in the ocean and threw some football and then it was all down to game talk. Well kind of… James was the only one to talk game since Mike and Ryan wanted to forget about it for the time being. Mike seems to be annoyed with James’ active game play and feels he’s playing it way to hard. Why do half of the people on the show forget they are on a competition reality show…. not a dating/hang out show.
When the guys returned to the hotel they found it completely empty. This sent them in a small panic as they expected some type of twist to play into the excursions. All three thought people would returning or someone new would be joining the game but alas they found that was not the case when TD and Krista returned. They also had some fear that a twist or sudden elimination ceremony would take place and were shocked when nothing happened.
While at their “romantic setting” one on one, Stephanie and Zack become much closer. At first they thought no cameras were present but quickly realized one was hiding in the corner. As Stephanie tried to make a move on Zack it quickly was revealed that wasn’t going to happen. Zack wanted nothing to do with a “public showing” which angered Stephanie a bit. He brought up her shower scene with Ryan a few weeks ago. Stephanie then began to cry and their romantic evening was cut short.
The next morning the two returned to Paradise Hotel and everyone was back in play. It seems new alliances were being created as the OGs fell apart. James realized that he couldn’t rely on Krista anymore since she wasn’t going to choose him last round and he continued to tell her he almost sent her home. He then started to work on TD who he was once close with week one. She realized this was all game play and seemed somewhat confused on if she could trust James or not. Another friendship that was changing was with Ryan and Mike. They were always tight but after James’ sudden change Ryan became Mike’s best buddy. It’s funny how it changed so quickly and everyone James was close with seemed to disown him. The third friendship that shifted was Krista and Stephanie. They were always close but now it seems that Stephanie may be favoring Krista over TD.
At dinner another envelope was brought into play and all were told that the next elimination would be the last. This meant the couples would be locked in and no more room selections would occur. Everyone seemed stunned but it was obvious this was to happen. It also sent everyone into thinking what twists could accompany the news and all ideas were being spit out. The largest was that whoever was chosen to be the odd man out would also take out a couple. Everyone assumed that James would be the one eliminated so they feared the worse. He and TD formulated some sort of plan in case the twist was brought into play but it was never really said what the plan was.
At the elimination things went as predicted. The girls were the ones sitting and the guys were on the chopping block. Zack was up first and although he and Stephanie were fighting he went to her. Mike was up next and kept his same roommate in Krista as they both are “being themselves”. Next were Ryan and James and both ended up going to TD as planned. What happened next sent James packing with no more power in the game other then saying goodbye. TD, for some strange reason, chose Ryan to stay and sent the latest trouble starter: James out of paradise and out of the game.
Next week the power is given to one more player as someone is given the chance to send a couple out of Paradise. Those voted out since Zack came into the hotel then return to crown the winner in some sort of vote. Drama once again ensues as old enemies turn into friends and friends turn into enemies. Which couple will take home the grand prize? Make sure to tune in next week as I’m sure it will be a shocker!
