Many knew it was coming and that it did, the Big Brother morph-o-matic returned once again toting six babies this time around. Only one could be called “cute” but otherwise the 13 houseguests of Big Brother 10 make some ugly kids! Following the nominations by Jerry of Keesha and Dan, things were looking up for both Memphis and Renny. With a final two with everyone BUT Renny, Memphis felt he was a shoe in for winning the game and I think he may still feel that way. Dan and Keesha also weren’t too worried about going home as they knew the Power of Veto played a pivotal role in how the round would be played out. Winning the PoV was the only sure bet on being safe and also could be the deciding factor of who went home.
Up in the HoH Dan took some time to talk to Jerry who realized the four were only being friendly since he was in power. Dan made sure Jerry knew he wasn’t upset for going on the block and both reiterated that the Power of Veto could and most likely would change the playing field. Renny seemed out of the loop that the PoV was so important this week so Jerry took the time to fill her in. Once she learned that she would be auto nominated if Memphis won the PoV, Renny became visibly upset and went straight to Keesha. Renny then went on and on about how she knows that she is the target and will probably be going this week. Keesha consoled her to her face, but in the Diary Room she let us know that Renny worrying was a bit annoying. Renny wasn’t even on the block, yet, so Keesha felt there was no point in complaining.
Following a quick break Big Brother actually showed Jerry’s now famous fall into the pool! I really didn’t think they would show it but since he didn’t get hurt I guess it’s fun to laugh at his expense. I mean he could have got electrocuted thanks to his mic pack, now that would have been great TV! Later that night Memphis took the time to secure his final two pack with Jerry, Keesha and then Dan. He told all three that he would go to the final two with them but said he still doesn’t know who he would take. Memphis isn’t playing a great visible game but if none of the three catch on, he could be sitting “very pretty” in the finals.
With the numbers dwindling BB had to show some past footage, making it look like it was recent. They pulled out the very funny moment of Dan copying Renny’s every move; followed by Renny strangling Renny. It was put into context this week though as Dan is using the annoyance tactic to get Renny off of her game. The annoyance culminated in the Hippie Room where the four were chatting. When the idea that Renny was worried about being nominated came up, Dan jumped on the opportunity. He egged it on that she probably would go on the block which set Renny off. As she exited the room she spanked Dan, followed by Dan saying “physical violence”. Renny stormed out of the room saying he deserved it and that she doesn’t care about a penalty nomination. Luckily Big Brother didn’t reprimand!
Later that night it was time for the Power of Veto competition, the famous morph-o-matic! This time around the players were morphed together into babies. Each of the five players had to guess who the father and mother were of the “baby”. Their faces were morphed together and placed on a babies body where the quickest to get all six correct would win the Power of Veto. When it came to time Renny did the worst. She didn’t realize a bald baby would have Jerry as the father and after trying every guy she finally got it correct. With 23 minutes and 32 seconds, Renny came in dead last and she sure wasn’t happy with herself about that. Jerry was up next with 8 minutes and 1 second. He didn’t have many problems either then the first kid who was an ugly April and Dan.
With only three left it was up to either Dan, Keesha or Memphis to win the Power of Veto. Since she walked SO slow during the competition, Keesha came in third with 5 minutes and 16 seconds. Although both Dan and Memphis did well and actually RAN (unlike Keesha) their times were rather close and only differed by 8 seconds. But only one could win and with 2 minutes and 50 seconds, Memphis took home the Power of Veto and put himself in an awkward position. He had a final two with both nominees and a deal with Jerry to not use the veto.
The day following the Power of Veto, Dan and Memphis talked about what should go down. Their Renegade alliance hanged in the balance and Memphis made Dan swear he would vote Renny out in order to use the Power of Veto. Memphis had two things he had to do though and that was make sure Keesha and Jerry were ok with it. Keesha didn’t seem too upset since Memphis kept saying they would be in the finals. Jerry was the one who had some problems with it as he wanted Dan out badly, but Memphis obviously won’t take Jerry so I doubt his opinion mattered.
Later that day it was time for the Power of Veto ceremony. Both Keesha and Renny both realized that Memphis would probably use the Power of Veto and nothing could be done to change that. In the living room Memphis did just that and saved Dan from the chopping block. This forced Jerry to put Renny on the block, since she was the only one eligible to go. That leaves the votes to both Memphis and Dan with Jerry breaking a tie if they vote opposite. It should be an interesting night come Thursday as either Keesha or Renny will be evicted. With only one “real” HoH left it’s a crucial one so all three will be fighting to win it. Plus tune in Thursday for a look in the jury house, who knows what type of drama has been going on there!
Big Brother is known for it’s explosive arguments this season and I think after the HoH was won there won’t be a dry spell anytime soon. Following Jerry’s very crazy Power of Veto speech nobody was happy with him. Everyone from Memphis to Michelle felt Jerry went out of his way to belittle Dan, calling him “Judas”. Dan couldn’t have been more thrilled though as he felt it helped his game. He knew everyone was angry with Jerry now and the target was moving off of himself.
Although Libra felt dead in the water, Keesha somewhat buried herself a bit by getting in a fight with April. She and Ollie wanted to switch up the game since April felt Keesha was jealous of her looks. This left Ollie to go to Libra about using their votes plus Jerry’s to keep her in the game. She only needed to get Dan to vote for her and that was the issue. The problem came when Memphis offered Dan an alliance called the “renegades”. It would consist of the two of them plus Keesha and Renny. They felt they should keep their alliance separate from the girls but string them along as far as they could. When Libra talked to Dan about being the swing vote he couldn’t give her a yes or no and she accepted that. Dan wavered on his vote but still seemed set on voting Libra out with his new alliance.
For the interview from home we finally got to see Libra’s husband talk about the “issue” of her leaving her twins. This means BB is betting on Libra going, since most who get a chat from home are mostly likely on the bubble to leave. In his chat Libra’s husband let us know she is a great mother and that his mother in law helps him with Libra’s children. They then played the Michelle freak out for him and he was obviously shaken by it. He didn’t like the way she talked about Libra taking the trip and that her children should be taken away. Although he knew she was strong he felt she was there for the right reasons, hopefully putting her critics to rest.
When it came time to talk to the houseguests Julie focused on the Dan/Jerry fight. Dan joked about it saying that Jerry should call him “Mr. Judas” while Jerry was still angry about Dan (America) voting Jessie out. When Julie talked to HoH Michelle alone she let us know that she wants her parents to be proud. She also talked about being friends with April and how it’s basically for the game at the moment.
Julie then returned back downstairs to administer the live vote. Although some were wavering it was obvious that Libra would go, and she knew it. With 6 - 0 votes, Libra walked out of the house in a good mood and saying that she had “fun”. It’s sad to see Libra go as she brought much drama to the house but the new HoH should do the very same.
During the HoH the houseuguests were given quotes from the diary room made by Brian, Steven, Angie and Jessie. The first person to buzz in would get to say who said the quote, if they were correct they could eliminate someone from the Head of Household. If they were incorrect, they would be out of the challenge. Renny got the first question right and kicked April out. Next up was Dan who also got his correct and booted Jerry from winning. Ollie, Memphis and Dan then answered incorrectly, kicking themselves out of the competition. That left best friends Keesha and Renny. Renny buzzed in last and correctly answered Brian. That gave Renny her first HoH win and shifted the power once again. Who will she put up? It’s going to be an interesting one and another one for the books I’m sure!
The first live eviction of Big Brother 10 went off without a hitch having a few firsts for the new format of the show. Not only did the live audience return but the first ever socket puppet show was performed making it a fun yet dramatic episode. It all started off following the nomination of Brian following Jessie’s leave with the PoV. This meant either Brian or Renny would go with the most likely scenario being Brian. He immediately went up to Jerry to find out what happened and learned that Ollie jumped ship. Jerry told him that Ollie was the one who brought everyone up to the room and Brian was NOT happy about that.
That night Brian pulled his “bro” Dan and “ex-bro” Ollie into his sofa, which he’s spent countless hours on on the feeds, and got down to business. He asked Ollie what went down and he basically told him that it was more a house decision rather then his which is kind of a lie. Dan didn’t take too well to that as he realizes he’ll have a hard time lieing in the house because of his morals. I for see Dan going soon, thanks to Ollie, as they are now the battling bible boys.
With Ollie now the leader it seems that April isn’t too mad at him anymore. She easily kissed him and even asked him for it. Both said they are just playing the other so it will be interesting to see who turns on the other first. April wasn’t only with Ollie though as her and the two girls, Libra and Keesha, realized they will be seen as a target. Brian saw that as well and wanted to turn the two on each other. He used Angie to do so and that little event ended up with another meltdown right before the votes were to be cast.
Knowing he was probably going home Brian came up with a rather interesting scheme to stay. He wanted people to realize he’s fun in the house and vote for him to stay for that reason. The now famous puppet show was then shown and seemed more boring on TV then it was in real life. I’m not sure why they edited it the way they did, leaving out most of the good parts, and a laugh track from the live audience would have been nice as well. Following the puppet show it seemed that Brian’s plan worked. Steven and Angie both said they felt Brian leaving would remove some fun from the house and this put Angie to work. She told Keesha that there was a possibility that Brian could stay if she voted for him. Little did Angie know, April was watching a few feet away and later that night let everyone know that Keesha was playing both sides.
Outside by the pool table, where most of the fights seem to begin, April was talking to Ollie and a few other guys about how Keesha was jumping ship to be with Angie. Keesha knew what was going on and didn’t take it too lightly. April then sprang up and moved towards Keesha but was held back by Ollie and pulled into the house. After doing so she told Renny she may be going and hated that Keesha switched on them. Outside Keesha was letting loose about April. Swearing left and right and saying how she couldn’t stand to be around her. Everyone saw the fight and I’m glad that CBS included it even though it happened last night. It’s a big deal and could possibly change the direction of the game.
Following the fight we went live to chat with the house. Julie told to Jessie first who said that he still doesn’t like Renny has she shows him no respect. Renny then said the same thing and told Jessie, once again, that he has some growing up to do and he should do what he says. Libra was the only other house guest to talk to Julie and she was asked a rather interesting question. It was about her leaving her five month old kids to be in the house. Libra told America that they don’t know her situation and she’s doing it for her family. She’s reminding me more and more of Daniele every day. Up in his HoH bedroom Jerry talked openly to Julie. He told her about how his military background will play into the game and how he was forced to put Brian up. Nothing much else came from that so it was time for the eviciton.
I’m surprised they did a live vote but the did and it turned out rather well. Both Renny and Brian asked to stay yet we all knew who was going. Once all the votes were cast Brian was sent packing by a vote of 9 to 1. Only Dan voted to keep him in and Brian exited the house to a live audience. It seemed thrilling to see the audience react to his leave but to be honest the live audience didn’t add much else other then clapping. When he talked to Julie, Brian seemed in good spirits. He says that Memphis will be the winner if he plays his cards right so we shall see!
For the first real HoH was had a familiar beginning challenge. Everyone was asked a question where two of the houseguests would be a possible answer. Everyone would then choose one and the people who were in the minority would be removed from the challenge. In the end four people remained: Libra, Ollie, Jessie and Steven. They were asked how many pillows were on the bed in the start of the Power of Veto challenge and Jessie came closest without going over. Making him the official challenge threat of the game as he’s won the only two they’ve had so far.
Big Brother is back for its 10th season and finally returns to the summer where it belongs. This season promises 13 strangers and the most diverse cast ever and after watching the show I must admit they could be right for once! The show started off by introducing the cast which ranges from 22 year old Jessie to 75 year old Jerry. We got to see a few clips of each houseguest as they left for the house and most were rather generic as CBS generally tells them what to say and what to do.
When the real fun began at the house it was time to shake things up as Julie told everyone that the game was on. Everyone walked up to a small podium where they voted for the HoH based on looks alone. Most said they voted for Renny or Jerry but of course Julie has to pull a Seacrest and made them all wait until after the food competition.
As the groups went into the house they seemed excited for the theme. Renny grabbed the Yoko Ono glasses pretty quickly and even made a few made impressions on a few people. One, which was to Jerry, was saying how he was in WWII. Guess she didn’t realize she’d be saying that to the future first HoH now did she! At the general get to know you round table everyone seemed open to say their true names and such but some didn’t divulge everything. For instance Steven didn’t announce that he was gay and Ollie didn’t really mention anything about his life at all. Michelle on the other hand told everyone she was crazy, oh what a great way to start things off. We also got to see Jerry’s now famous boob grab as April let everyone know that yes, her boobs are real.
Julie then interrupted the house, as she always does, and let them know it was time for some fun. Of course it wasn’t the HoH results but rather the first food competition! Before they could get to that someone had to sit out. Jessie decided he’d be the one since he doesn’t want his “physique” to be a target. Um you WANT to win challenges buddy, sitting out just put a bigger target on you! But getting back to the challenge, once everyone was divided and went into the backyard it was time for a VW Beetle race! Well upside down bug race. The group who won the challenge would be able to eat for the first week while the group who lost would be on slop. Also the last person in the winning car would win a classic Mustang or Camaro (I so wanted that Camaro!) along with the food.
The object of the challenge was to cram into a small upside VW Bug and then pull the car and everyone else across the backyard. Then someone would grab a gas tank and hoof the car back to the other side of the yard where someone would jump out and stay out. One all the gas tanks and one person was left were back across the yard the group that finished first would win the car and the food. It started off rather lopsided at first with the red team beating the white team the whole way and it ended up with the red team finishing with one lap still left for the white. One interesting thing that happened was basically nobody wanted the car except for Memphis and Steven. Both said they were careless and tried to do rock/paper/scissors to decide but Steven ended up jumping out anyway. This gave Memphis the choice of cars, thank God he picked the Camaro, and the red team food for the week. On the side the slop eaters ended up being April, Brian, Libra, Jerry, Ollie and Keesha. Jessie still gets to eat since he sat out but seemed VERY upset about losing the chance for the car. That’s what he gets though for pulling such a stupid move.
Following the food/reward challenge Julie returned to announce the HoH winner. After telling Renny she came in 2nd place she then revealed that Jerry got four votes over Renny’s 3 and gave Jerry the first Head of Household for Big Brother 10. With that Julie finally left everyone be and the real game started. Brian was the real star of the show strategy wise as he started very early. He pulled Dan to the side to tell him they were similar and to align and soon Dan pulled Ollie in as well. It seems like Brian is pulling the strings and we’ll also see that a bit later. This is surely an alliance to watch out for as it could be a huge deal.
When night time hit Jessie left everyone know that he was tired and ready for bed. Little did he know Renny was sleeping next door and wow is she insane. During the night she flipped the lights on and off and cackled with a screeching laugh that woke poor Jessie up, sending him crying to everyone else about what Renny did. The next morning Renny stumbled about Jessie in the bathroom and they had a little tiff about the affair. Renny told Jessie to suck it up while he just called her old, several times in the Diary Room. Although I don’t like either of them that much Renny does odd some much needed crazy to the show as she then put on her wig and came out looking very maidish. Go Renny you crazy crazy lady!
Sure it was all fun and games for some but Brian still had the game on his mind. While Renny and Jessie argued Brian headed to the HoH to work on Jerry who quickly put himself into an alliance with Brian. He started his much famous “X-Factor” alliance, which seems kind of crazy as well, and also was talked into making Brian’s nominations. He wanted Jerry to put both Renny and Jessie up to get out the “conflict” since Jerry wanted Dan up, Brian’s apprentice. He didn’t like that too much and realized he had to play Jerry well since well, he IS the HoH and all.
Later that day the first nominations of the season were made where Jerry pulled through like he said for Brian. Both Renny and Jessie went on the block for “conflicts” that morning and basically everyone but Renny and Jessie didn’t react. We heard Renny called Jessie a “baby” at the end of the show so hopefully this leads into a lovely argument that culminates on the feeds as they being in oh 40 minutes. I can honestly say the show seems to be on the rise as BB9 is now a shadow in the past. Hopefully Big Brother 10 will keep the show fresh and new and I look forward to seeing the rest as it’s bound to be a VERY exciting summer in the Big Brother house.
