First Female Final Four On Survivor Micronesia

CBS, Survivor Micronesia No Comments

Wow. I cannot believe how crazy this season has been as all the merged vote off have been crazy, insane and unpredictable. I really didn’t think anything could top last week, the week before that or even the week before that. But tonight’s episode will go down in the history books as one of the most dumbest moves not only in Survivor but in Reality TV history. It all began as the tribe returned from Amanda’s use of the hidden idol. One good thing that came out of its use and the initial vote was Amanda’s realization that Cirie is on her side. It also forced Natalie and Erik to grow closer as they were the last two fans in the game. They both promised to either send the other to exile or take them on the reward if they won. They felt having the hidden idol between then would force the game to switch to their side and give them the leverage they need to get to the final three.

But things change on the dime in Survivor and Amanda snatched Erik up. It was all a brain child of Cirie who felt that Erik may swing back over to Amanda if she played her cards right. They wanted to make Erik feel comfortable so the three remaining favorites: Amanda, Cirie and Parvati could make it to the finals. Their plan was to have Amanda once again befriend Erik and have him choose Parvati to send to exile. I think they’ve come to realize that Erik is the challenge threat now that Ozzy and Jason are gone and also realized he would probably win.

The reward challenge was interesting and rather easy if you’ve watched the show. Each round Jeff would ask them a question about a moment from one of the previous seasons. They then had to say which season the moment came from and if they were correct they would receive a point. The first question came from Pearl Island and was about Rupert’s snake. The next was from All Stars and Richard’s battle with the shark and then Kathy’s big “pee” moment in Marquesas. The next question was rather easy as it was Mike’s evacuation in the Outback and the last was from Cirie’s season as Jeff wanted to know which season was the first to divide into four tribes. Erik was the first to get four questions correct and won the reward. He could send one person to exile and take one with him. He ended up showing his allegiance and took Amanda with him to a spa retreat. He then sent Parvati to exile, both of which went against what he told Parvati just a few hours earlier.

Back on the beach Cirie worked hard on Natalie. She knew Natalie was upset but just kept pushing and pushing. She told Natalie that Erik was playing all the women and mentioned that Erik took Amanda to feed her and make her stronger, yet still wanted her to leave. Natalie took the bait and was NOT happy with Erik’s decision and went into another psycho moment. She wanted to “bitch slap” Erik and did another one of her motions to let just know just exactly what she meant.

Over Exile Island Parvati was having the time of her life. She was doing what she normally does…… tanning. She said it was like a mini-vacation for her as she had no reason to really do anything. She didn’t even attempt to look for the hidden idol since she “didn’t need it”. Knowing that her, Amanda and Cirie had all the votes to send either Natalie or Erik home no matter who won the immunity challenge.

While on their spa retreat Erik and Amanda had time to re-bond as friends. They ate, got a massage then talked a bit about the game even though they said they wouldn’t. They told each other that they should go to the end as he is the physical threat and she is the strategical threat. Not much more came from the reward other then their “friendship”. But as we are soon to find out that friendship wouldn’t last long.

When Erik and Natalie returned to the beach things got a bit heated. Natalie wouldn’t even talk to Erik or look him in the eyes. He then realized he may have screwed up big time by going against Natalie, considering she might just rip out his jugular. Erik then went into a big “strategical” conversation with Cirie. He wanted Parvati, Cirie and himself to vote either Natalie or Amanda out as they were the big threats for the jury. Little did he know, Natalie was standing right behind him and heard every word he said. We then cut to the three girls talking. Cirie told Natalie and Amanda what Erik just said and they all agreed he screwed up big time. He told each of them the same thing and he realized this as he saw all three talking.

At the immunity challenge the survivors had to dig up three puzzle bags by using coordinates. Erik and Cirie were the first to find their first bag but it all went down hill for the girls in the second puzzle. Erik quickly found his second puzzle while all the girls continued to dig out of the blue. Erik then found his last puzzle bag and won yet another immunity challenge. What would the girls do now with Erik having another idol and one of them going home? Oh this is where it gets good!

Back at the beach the girls were wondering what they could do since one of them were about to go. Cirie then came out with a plan that could save all of them and make it the first final four of all women. She wanted Natalie to try and have Erik give her the immunity challenge to redeem himself from the jury. At first Natalie thought it was a stupid idea but tried it anyway. Erik laughed it off at first as well but then realized how screwed he was with the jury. Cirie then sweetened the pot by saying if he did give Natalie the idol then the three of them would vote out Amanda which then turned to Parvati. Erik mulled it over but the girls still weren’t sure if he would do it.

At tribal council Amanda and Parvati played their parts assigned by Cirie to bash Erik. She wanted them to push Erik over the edge into going with the plan to vote out Amanda/Parvati by giving Natalie the idol. Cirie would only vote for Amanda/Parvati if Erik gave Natalie the idol and that’s just what he did. Erik gave the one thing that ensured he was in the final four to Natalie, giving the jury another shocking moment to give us crazy reactions to as they knew Erik was done for. All the girls smiled as Erik went to cast his vote since he had no idea. All the girls’ votes were shown as they knew we would know he was going. Erik then walked out the game fairly well considering the fact he just became the most stupid player in Survivor and reality TV history. In a season with the most record breaking moments we have another record: a first final four of all women. It’s never been done before and I’m sure the most unpredictable season will continue its run for its finale come Sunday evening. Who will win? My bets on Cirie or Amanda.

The Favorites Fall Apart on Survivor Micronesia

CBS, Survivor Micronesia No Comments

The night began with a return to the fans beach after they get back from Tribal Council. Mikey obviously knows that Joel pulled the strings for Mary to go and it seemed like he wasn’t too happy with that decision. Over at the Favorites camp we saw the division move even further as it seemed Cerie has joined Jonathan, Yau, Eliza and Ami but she let us in that she isn’t deciding which side she’ll move to until she figures out which side is best for her.

The reward challenge was a brand new one for the show and was very dramatic and crazy. Basically they had to steal pillows from each other, kind of like a hardcore pillow fight in the water. It was great to watch them fight it out and I have a feeling that challenge took forever and we only got to see 5 minutes of it. I wish they would put the full events online for us to watch, like challenge and Tribal Council, but alas we must put up with their cut out version. Of course the challenge was put together very well and made for a great showdown. The favorites pulled out another win and a very needed one for them I felt.

We then saw a few clips from both beaches. At the favorites beach we saw Cerie playing the game much earlier then she did last time. She began to favor the love foursome and told Amanda and Parvati that its them three to the end, screwing over the other four she just minutes ago claimed to be a part of. At the fans beach we saw their lack of shelter help them oh so much during the worst down poor yet. They basically have no idea what they are doing as they claimed to have not slept at all through the storm. They have been there for at least a week now in episode three, so you would think they would have things at least a little under control. Guess not.

It then came down to another physical challenge for immunity. Four of the tribemates had to hold a suspended net, while the other five had to shoot coconuts into the other tribes nets. It was another brand new challenge for the show and a very fun one to watch! Jonathan commentated the entire time which probably contributed to him losing. You would think James could have held that net all by himself, but the favorites struggled for a large portion of the challenge while the fans didn’t move a muscle. It was a no brainer for a win as the fans gained another victory, even on their lack of sleep. It was then off to Tribal Council for the favorites who had a lot of drama going on so it was kind of good they went so we could see it play out!

Cerie was the start of last nights pre-TC and during the Tribal Council. She basically told everyone she’s voting one way and one way only, and that was for Yau Man. This made the foursome love alliance vote with her just so they had her vote in the future, even though they could have voted off whoever they wanted actually. Jonathan wasn’t happy that Cerie (or as he calls her Sherie) wasn’t voting who he wanted her too and basically blabbed about his entire alliance to the entire tribe, good work Jonathan. I like both him and Cerie but I think they made majorly bad moves by voices such strong opinions and both trying to control the game so early.

When it came to the Tribal Council both Jonathan and Cerie fought once again, but this time in front of Jeff. It is kind of expected from Jonathan that he’d act like this but nobody really saw it coming from Cerie. Last time she was very subdue and really didn’t get into the fight but just sat back and watched. Yau Man took the fall in the end and wasn’t really shown much, meaning they were probably happy he went anyway.

Next week looks to be another showdown between Cerie and Jonathan and yet another one between Mikey and Joel. Plus someone apparently finds the Hidden Immunity, thanks for ruining it in the preview Burnett!

Fans Pull Off Their First Blindside in Micronesia

CBS, Survivor Micronesia No Comments

Survivor Micronesia is just beginning but the blindsides are already starting. But before we get to that lets start off with the “lovers square” that are trying to become the new Romber. It seems like Amanda/Ozzy and Parvati/James are becoming too tight for their own good. Their games are seeming to get screwed up by their “love” found on the beach and they probably don’t realize they are a huge target. Cerie FINALLY came into the episode and the game and plans to pull that alliance apart. Her and Jonathan began talking and it seems they are now aligning and my perfect alliance was born! Let’s hope they go all the way.

Over at the fans we seem them in more trouble then before. They can’t get fire started and the tribe is split 7 to 3 with another old/young split. Kathy, Tracy and Chet were basically kicked out by the youngins and ended up building their own shelter, which ended up being better then the first one! It was actually funny to see as they kick them out of the shelter, they then build there own and then they ask the three to help them build a new one just like it! I don’t know how long this split can last, but I hope the three of them can take it at least to the merge. I’m always up for a good underdog story.

At the challenge I was really rooting for the favorites as I didn’t want any of them to go. The challenge started off fairly even with everyone basically right behind each other with the key. When it came time for Chet to swim out, he lost the key and came back to the beach empty handed, putting the fans one rotation behind. Ultimately they couldn’t catch up as the puzzle was solved before the fans could even open their chest. Thankfully the favorites won!

Then we found the new twist to the game as Exile Island returned. The favorites sent Kathy, which was odd, to Exile and then were told to send one of their own. Cerie said she would go and off they went. I think Cerie wanted to experience Exile Island since it started on her season and she wanted to prove she could go there. At Exile her and Kathy quickly bonded and found out they had to first search for clues to find the hidden idol. They swam across the ocean 4 different times and ultimately never found the idol. At least Cerie was on tons more then last week though!

At the fans tribe they had to decide who was going. Mikey made up some huge plan to vote where they would split the votes for Tracy and Chet, since Kathy could give them the hidden idol. It was kind of crazy and put a target on him actually and his new showmance Mary. At Tribal Council the votes were switched up since everyone though Mikey was running things and had Mary at his side to do anything. Mary ended up taking the fall for Mikey, who would have gone if the fans didn’t need him for the challenges.

I must say Micronesia is getting very interesting very fast. I can’t wait to see how this season turns out and can’t wait to see how Cerie switches up this game next week! Can you tell who my favorite is yet? I bet you can!

Survivor Micrnoesia Starts Out With a Shocker

CBS, Survivor, Survivor Micronesia No Comments

The first episode of Fans vs Favorites aired last night and well, it was half good and half bad. The beginning started off rather slow I thought, probably because it rained the whole start and was kind of odd to watch. The fans were brought in first and were slowly introduced to who their competition was. Yau Man got the biggest cheers which I felt bad for him in a way because that could hurt him pre-merge. Right after that Jeff told them there were two idols on the other side of the ocean. Ozzy got there first along with Erik from the fans but neither could find the idols. I was surprised that Fairplay actually got one of the idols but not in a way. He grabbed the wrong tribes idol, dropped it to the ground then headed for his. Yau saw it though and plowed Fairplay right into the boat. That’s the 2nd time in a month Fairplay’s head was bashed into the floor/boat!

At the two beaches we saw them starting to get their camp settled with the favorites finished by night one. The fans were slacking a bit and had nothing ready it seemed, compared to the favorites who already had fire thanks to Yau. They really didn’t show the fans a whole lot, but I can see why. The only really good moments we had from them were of Kathy who has to be certified crazy. I mean she told Tracy she’d “never seen fake boobs up that close before” was just the tip of the iceberg. Over at the favorites we saw two foursomes build immediately with Amanda/Ozzy/James/Parvati having their love alliance and Ami/Eliza/Jonathan/Yau having their anti-love alliance. It was interesting to see, as I didn’t really except some of them to work together so quickly. Cerie was kind of left out, same as before, and I was upset they didn’t show her as much. Hopefully next time!

The challenge was a tough one it seemed as it was both mental and physical. The fans took an early lead and kept it thanks tot he poor puzzle skills of the favorites. The challenge was rather intense though, even though the fans won by a landslide. Eliza will probably have a nice shiner after falling out of the wagon and bashing her head into the neighboring tree. Oh how little things make good TV.

Now the favorites, sadly, have to go to Tribal Council and both alliances want someone from the other one out. The lovers want Eliza out for being sneaky last time and the anti-lovers want Parvati out for the same reason. Fairplay, being himself, played both sides and told each what the other alliance was doing. Both claimed to have Fairplay on his side but things slightly turned. Johnny suddenly “realized” he was going to be a dad and he left his 7 month pregnant girlfriend at home. Now I mean this is NO the Fairplay I’m sure CBS wanted but at least Jeff let him have it at Tribal for trying to quit. They ended up voting anyway and sure enough Fairplay was the first one sent packing. It’s kind of shocking to see the favorites take a hit so soon as the show is basically made for them to win. Hopefully they have better luck next time!

Survivor Goes Hollywood to Promote Fans vs Favorites

CBS, Survivor, Survivor Micronesia No Comments

It seems the people at CBS are taking a new approach to getting viewers for Survivor this season. A dramatic yet humorous “movie trailer” has been created for Survivor Micronesia. In the short clip, airing over YouTube and other websites, meshes acted sequences with clips from the new season as well as interviews from several cast members. It’s an interesting turn as really Survivor hasn’t had this “feel” before. They are putting what seems like more effort into promoting the show online which to me may help boost the ratings. The feel of the trailer as well gives the show a new feel and might appeal to others who may find just short clips in commercials not worth their time to watch. The new commercial/trailer for Survivor Micronesia Fans vs Favorites is posted below. Give it a watch and let us know what you think!
