Ghost Adventures, Travel Channel

Tonight a new paranormal show debuted on the Travel Channel named “Ghost Adventures”. The concept of the show is similar to most other paranormal shows out there lately but has a slight spin to it. Three guys film the entire footage you see and are physically locked into the buildings they document. The first episode began with a documentary movie that was filmed by the three guys and is followed by the first episode of the new series. The documentary shows how they got into paranormal research after being awoken by ghosts in their apartment. They then go off on a fourteen day stint where they search for paranormal activity while on a road trip and begin their paranormal career.
While the documentary movie focused on their time beginning as ghost hunters, the guys did encounter their first real ‘haunted house’. In an abandoned hotel the guys learn first hand what it means to be scared. Before entering the hotel the guys talked to the hotel’s next door neighbor who also continues to look over it. She tells them that she and others performed spiritual rituals there and that may be why the activity is so severe. Although she promises no ghosts have ever done physical harm, they do like to scare and force people to remove people from their home. The night the three guys spent in the hotel was not uneventful as several things occurred. While in the one hallway not only was an apparition seen but also a brick thrown towards one of the walls. The brick was picked up off of the ground and physically thrown across the room with no physical person or thing moving the brick. It was very clear on film and makes ghosts just a little more real. The guys then left that night after the brick event and did not complete their lock down stay.
For the first episode of the new series the three guys, Zak, Aaron and Nick, traveled to “Bob Mackey’s” in Kentucky where they learned there was a deep dark past to a simple bar. In both the attic and the basement they encountered paranormal activity and some not so nice. While going to the bathroom one of the guys heard two loud knocks on the wall and when demanding it to occur again it surely did. They then moved down to the basement where a disturbing cult used to sacrifice both animals and humans to the devil. There was also a beheading that took place there with a woman’s head being thrown into a well that led to the nearby river. While in the basement the leader of the group, Zak, was asking the spirits to do harm to one of the guys to show that they were there. He got his wish as his back began to suddenly burn. As they took a look at the problem the other two guys realized then that Zak had been scratched. You could obviously see three marks going down his back and more. Although he wanted to leave they continued on and were lucky to do so. While having a camera set up showing the well they caught an apparition that walked a few feet from the well. It was very clear and one of the better ones on any paranormal show to date. After leaving the building, very spook and still in pain from the scratches, the guys sat down and talked to a priest. He let them know what they were doing was very dangerous but they vowed to continue you.
Ghost Adventures will return every Friday at 9pm est on the Travel Channel.

Sorry for the lack of a Sunday night rehash but I was on vacation but it’s all back to normal now! Jumping right into things were Jessie and Michelle who were oddly calm after learning hat Jessie was going on the block. Jessie told April right away that he understood why she put him up and understood that he should be safe. Michelle was a little more annoyed though, claiming once again that the pawn always goes home. Memphis made a few comments about knowing he was going up but other then that he was his normal ‘in the shadows’ self.
After a quick stint in the diary room, Dan wasn’t too excited that America chose Jessie, of all people, to be hugged for at least 10 seconds. It wasn’t the hardest of tasks but it was sure entertaining! Dan moved quickly and created a plan to tell Jessie a sob story about his girlfriend. Um didn’t I see this somewhere before? Like maybe last summer? Dan told Jessie how he fears that Monica, his girlfriend, won’t be there when he gets out of the house. Jessie took it to heart and believed every word. In an ending move Dan hugged Jessie and didn’t let go for 17 seconds. He smirked as the clock passed the 10 second mark and it was a moment that makes America’s Player worth it, simply for Dan’s actions and remarks after he completed his task.
Later that night the houseguests were surprised with the PoV players being chosen. April, Memphis and Jessie were obviously playing along with Libra, Jerry and Michelle. April wasn’t too happy that Michelle was put in the mix and believed she was the only one who could win against them. When Libra entered the room April told her the problem and Libra didn’t like that too much. She thought that her alliance was counting her out and treating her like a weak link, since April didn’t think she could win the veto. This led another fight, about the millionth for the season, which included at least half the house on what should have been a very happy night: Keesha’s 30th birthday.
Downstairs Keesha and Libra complained, loudly I must say, about April and how she’s been treating them. Napping outside was Jessie who heard every single word, and some he only thought he heard. He immediately went upstairs to tell April what the two ladies were saying and that’s what set off the bomb. April immediately came downstairs and confronted the two. First Libra and April began to spat and yell but when Keesha tried to join the fray April brushed her off and said she would “deal with her later”. That didn’t sit well with Keesha and she went out to calm down and tell everyone else how much she hated Keesha. While that was going on Libra and April continued to argue and it finally came out that Jessie was the one who told April what they supposedly said. That’s where things got even more heated.
While everyone was in the kitchen waiting to sing Happy Birthday for Keesha; Libra, April and Jessie were arguing in the 80s bedroom. It seems to be the theme for most of the fights don’t you think? Libra and Jessie exchanged the most words with Keesha joining in for a bit. The two girls let Jessie know that what he said was all a lie and he never really did deny that he was lying. April sat in the middle of the argument and just kind of soaked things in. When everyone finally got calmed down enough to sing, Happy Birthday range out with the worst enthusiasm I ever heard! Following the song everyone sat in dead silence as they knew the fight wasn’t over. Keesha used the moment to culminate the arguement, it is her birthday don’t forget, and she had the last word as Jessie finally gave in and walked away. I must say, not since Chelsia has the house gone this insane. Good thing there were no easter eggs this time around!
Only a few hours after all the fun, or not so fun, it was time for the Power of Veto. Each round the six players would hit a hockey ball aiming at the center of a row. The person furthest from the center would be out and gain a prize. As more people went out they could either choose a previous prize that was won or keep what they just received. Memphis was out first, after almost taking Renny out with the hockey ball, and immediately won the Power of Veto. Next up was Michelle who very happily took a Hawaiian vacation, but that didn’t last too long. Jessie was out third and blamed his lost an the challenge again. Saying there really was no skill to it, seems he blames Big Brother for his losses but himself for his wins. He grabbed a Slop Special card but traded with Memphis for the PoV. With only April, Jerry and Libra left the PoV wouldn’t fall into enemy territory but the game went on.
With April going out fourth she won $10,000 that could be split however she pleased and kept it. With a perfect shot to the center, in the last round, Libra took home the winning trophy but it was Jerry who took home the Power of Veto. He asked April if she would split the money between himself, herself and Libra. She agreed so Jerry took the PoV from Jessie, giving Jessie a letter from home. In the winning trophy was the famous unitard worn by Jen and then Sheila. Libra didn’t want anything to do with it so she took the Hawaiian vacation from Michelle, setting her off more so then anything I’ve ever seen.
Following the Power of Veto competition Michelle ranting, in her very heated manner, that she won the shaft prize while everyone else got a prize. She felt Big Brother was making a fool out of her and threatened to quit. The fact that she had to wear the unitard didn’t sit well with her and she was taking it out by not showing her face in the DR. She eventually put it on but not before calling Libra a “whore”, “slut”, “skank”. Oh she also thinks Libra’s kids should be taken away since she took the vacation prize over a letter from home. She simply went crazy and claimed that’s her life story: always getting screwed.
Although Jerry won the veto many didn’t think he would use it and that’s what he did, he didn’t use the Power of Veto. This leaves both Memphis and Jessie on the block. It seems the house is split with the vote as Libra and Keesha want Jessie gone while April still wants Memphis out. It could be the end of the alliance as the two go against their HoH’s wishes but America, along with Dan, can shift the power by voting for who Dan should evict. Who do you want Dan to leave the house? Make sure to vote at CBS.com or texting your vote!

Big Brother is not only moving to Thursday nights for its LIVE eviction episodes this week but more will be happening as well. Although the houseguests don’t know it, America’s Player will be reintroduced into the game for a one week stint. The producers have recently issued a press release that reveals that we, the viewers, will get the chance to crown the next America’s Player. Once we vote and the new player is chosen, they will have the choice to play as our player for one week in the hopes of winning $20,000. In the long run this condensed version of America’s Player will be very similar to Big Brother 8 and Eric, it will only last a single week rather then an entire season. We will still control how the player votes and also other random things they must do. Another interesting tidbit from the house is that the Big Brother 10 house was struck by the earthquake that hit California today. How that will play out on the show I’m not sure but it will surely be interesting to see.
So who do you guys want to see be America’s NEW Player? Leave a comment and discuss!

On the latest episode of Pop Fiction, the punking celebrities fool the paparazzi once again! First up was Eva Longoria and her best friend Mario Lopez. Recently in the tabloids they have been saying she and Mario have been more then “just friends” so she decided to push that idea a little more further. The two first went to a store together where she tried on clothing and he helped her decide what to pick. Apparently it was supposed to show they were together but to me it wasn’t that obvious they were trying to do that at all. The only real thing they did was hug at one point, what great actors. Next up they went to lunch in an outdoor restaurant where things finally got a little more juicier. Here Mario gave Eva a necklace which seemed rather expensive. When a paparazzi asked if it was “a gift between friends” Mario simply said “kind of” which probably sent off the red flags that they were hoping for. In the end the story made the news but not the headlines, unlike Paris’ latest guru stint.
Second in the wings to fool the press was David Spade. He doesn’t get much press at all so I’m surprised they used him but it was atleast amusing to watch. He met up with a “brideĀ at her bachelorette party” and helped her and her posse get into a club. Not much was really shown about what happened in the club but their exit sure caused a stir. David left the club with the bride in his hand and they left together as her posse screamed at the car. There was some unneeded over acting on the part of the bride and her crew but apparently it was pulled off well enough to fool the press as they scooped up the story and it was on all the late night entertainment shows.
Hopefully next week has some more big named stars and hopefully they have better actors since well, this weeks kind of sucked.
