It’s All About The Money On Big Brother 10

Big Brother 10, CBS No Comments

With the only showmance of the season gone Big Brother turns to its home stretch. Following the eye opening Power of Veto ceremony, the house was up in confusion about who offered Dan the money. April was upset that he would tell everyone while Jerry was upset that April would stoop that low for a vote. Michelle was really the only one wondering who, between April and Jerry, did the offering and when she confronted Dan he simply said it wasn’t meant that way. I don’t think they ever got to the bottom of the money question but the bribing sure didn’t end there.

When Ollie and April realized that they may be spending their last week together they went into game mode. Both targeted Michelle to start but she quickly shot them down, saying she would vote however the house voted. This led them, once again, to Dan. Ollie started off by saying how he would have two people not putting him on the block if they won HoH compared to Jerry who was only one person. April then got to Dan and let him know she would do anything for his vote, even throwing him a few gold bars. It’s a shame she would use the money to gain a vote from Dan after he basically revealed that she did earlier. Dan hinted that his mind was still not made up which seemed to set April at ease a bit atleast.

For the nights interview from home we finally got to see how April and Ollie’s family feel about their “showmance”. During the segment we saw the two discussing moving in together, which April says was a huge joke, but who knows. Ollie’s parents were up first and talked highly of their son. I still wonder if they REALLY know what’s going on in the house. Although his father didn’t know what a showmance was he said it was ok as long as it was real. April’s sister was happy for the couple as well, comparing Ollie to herself. The only time she disagreed with the relationship was when Ollie “fake” proposed. Her eyes lit up so fast you could hardly tell the difference between her and her twin April!

During the time Julie took to talk to the houseguests little was given out. The questions weren’t that hard hitting this week which was kind of disappointing. Showing a video to the houseguests of Ollie’s fear of birds was the only good thing that came from the segment which led into a very long Renny rant. Up in the HoH Julie hardly got any words in as Renny blabbed about her different sides and her mother and father. She also went on how she is against Memphis and always was. It was about 10 minutes and I’m sure the producers were freaking out, hoping she would stop to give them a break to go to the votes!

When Renny finally shut up long enough for the votes it was that time. April was evicted as suspected and walked out the door happy with only Ollie’s vote not cast for her. Outside she let Julie know that her and Ollie’s relationship is more of a friend them “romance” but they sure didn’t act that way in the house. The audience laughed when Julie mentioned starting a family and I’m sure April realized then that everyone knew her and Ollie’s not so hidden secret. April’s interview outside was actually one of the better ones this season and led us into probably one of the most entertaining endurance HoHs ever devised.

Out in the backyard all six players for the HoH sat on a round disk. They were themed as vines and when it started to rain it seemed that would be it. BUT there is SO much more to this challenge that makes it one of the most fun to watch. Every so often the vines swing back and actually swing the houseguests into a wall! It actually seems kind of fun but after awhile I assume there will be some brusing. If only Renny was in the mix it would be so much more fun to watch but atleast we have Jerry to make fun of! He’s already starting the “do you know how old I am” complaints!

Adam Crowned the Winner of Big Brother 9

Big Brother 9, CBS No Comments

With the game of Big Brother 9 down to its final two it was time to crown the winner of the $500,000. It has been the series first winter series and broke new ground with twists galore. By starting with pairs for the first time ever to three players returning the game was different then ever before. Some loved it while others hated it but you must admit it was nice having a double, and now triple, dose of Big Brother in only a year.

The crowning of the winner had to start somewhere and that was with Sheila joining the jury house. Everyone seemed to think it would be her and were even talking about her as she walked through the doors. She seemed very upset with Adam at the time as she realized he threw the last challenge to make sure Ryan won and took him to the end. The rest of the jury seemed somewhat split as at times they favored Ryan and other times they favored Adam. Natalie, James and Chelsia seemed to take the idea that Adam was the better player, Joshuah, Sharon and Sheila seemed to fight for Ryan to win. Matty was the only one not going either way with who he wanted to win since he was friends with both.

It was then time for the questioning to begin and it once again seemed split. Ryan took the first heat as he told everyone that he would give Jen some money if he won. Everyone didn’t like that comment too much considering Adam said he would surely give $100,000 to open an after school program for kids. A followup question to that was from Chelsia who asked Ryan if he still loves Jen. He told her yes and the reasons why but Chelsia didn’t seemed to like that answer. I knew his relationship with Jen would hurt Ryan in the finals but some seem to be basing their vote simply on that. Adam then started to take some heat, especially from Sheila and Joshuah. Sheila tore into Adam as she felt he didn’t give her credit for him getting to the finals. She also felt Adam lied to her in the house throughout the game. I still don’t know if Sheila was just continuing her “act fighting” with Adam or if this was truly how she felt. Joshuah, on the other hand, tore into Adam as being not being a player. He didn’t agree with Adam throwing the competitions and also disliked the way Adam was “screaming at the screen”. In the end it still seemed unclear as to who would win and I’m still blown away by the vote.

With the votes then locked in Julie then told the jury members that one of them would be winning $25,000 thanks to a vote by America. They also had a few segments of talking with both jury and non-jury along with a few video clips. The first was a small discussion with Natalie and Matt and how they felt about each other. Julie told Natalie she may be in for some surprises when watching the show. This led to Matty apologizing to Natalie for anything she may hear before she even hears them. Next up was the feud between Jen and Allison which still seems to hold. Jen let loose and let everyone know she disliked Allison’s words about her after she was evicted and her thoughts that she was better for Ryan then herself. Allison defended herself by saying she had no feelings for Ryan and doesn’t feel the same for Jen now that she did in the house. The next few clips showed Ryan that Adam did in fact tell Natalie how he voted and also showed Joshuah’s fake tears that convinced Adam. I’m not sure why they squeezed these two clips in as talking to the other jury or non-jury members would have been more exciting.

After that small boredom it was time to crown the winner. Matt’s vote was up first which was for Adam along with Natalie’s who was also for Adam. With two votes for Adam it was Joshuah up next. He voted vote Ryan making it 2-1. Sharon was up next and surprisingly voted opposite of Joshuah which was for Adam making it 3-1. Sheila’s vote was next and it was like fate that her key gave Adam the win. With four votes there was no way Ryan could catch up and Adam leapt into the air, knowing he won the game and half a million dollars. After some time the two finally walked out of the house and all the houseguests waiting outside rushed the door. It was a great feeling to see them finally excited for someone to win the game as it came to a close.

But before we could leave Big Brother world until the summer it was time to give away America’s Favorite Jury money. It was pretty obvious who would get it as people somehow fell in love with James and he was in fact the winner. Sheila came in second which should give her some joy as I feel she did deserve the money as much or not more then James. In my final post for BB9 I’d like to say it was a great season to cover as there was continuous drama and random things that happened this season that will probably never happen again. Although it may not have been the best it did bring some enjoyment to our winter and hopefully even more this summer as BB10 returns on July 13th! Make sure to check back often for any after the show BB9 updates and BB10 news as it comes in!

Natalie Chats Her Way Out Of Big Brother 9

Reality No Comments

Natalie EvictedTonight I honestly had no clue how the votes were going to go down. But they sure were exciting as nobody, except Adam and Ryan, expected it. It all began post-veto and we saw Natalie’s slow freak out. She basically begged the guys to keep her in and never really complained to Sheila. Adam and Ryan were in control of the votes and she knew that. Knowing that Natalie was going and wanting to cause some drama, both Adam and Ryan called a ‘house meeting’ where they basically put everything out in the open. They got Natalie to admit she’s been playing both sides, that she’s with them over the girls and most importantly, that she would put Sheila up on the block and evict her. That plays a HUGE role come eviction time and I’m sure sure regrets saying it now.

In the jury house the drama continues. Both Chelsia and Joshuah had a bad feeling that either James or Sharon would be joining them and both were right. We saw James walk through the jury door and only Matt was happy to see him. Although Chelsia was glad to see James, her emotions were about to change. He let her have it by telling her that it is her fault he was evicted. James blames her lash out at everyone, after she was evicted, for his eviction. She took it very hard and leapt up only to run to her room. She felt bad for causes the “only person she liked in the house” to be evicted but James quickly came her to her rescue. He told her he’s not sad he lost the money but happy to have “fallen for a girl on TV”. I swear James has to be bipolar after his “I hate you, I love you” stunt.

Back in the Big Brother house Julie got the houseguests talking. She opened things up with the “house meeting” and both Sharon and Sheila had their say. Sharon avoided the question as usual while Sheila let us know how she felt. She was mad that Natalie would side with the boys over her and still couldn’t get over the fact Natalie would put her up, even though she put Natalie up a few days prior. Julie then had a house meeting of her own by asking everyone if they would rather have someone who is more deserving or someone they could be in the final two. Everyone said ‘more deserving’ but of course they will considering they were sitting outside the Diary Room.

It then came down to the vote and like I said I had NO clue how this would go. I knew Natalie would be leaving I just didn’t know if Ryan and Adam would pull the tie stunt that they did. Ryan went in first and voted Natalie as expected. Adam then voted for Sharon, screwing Sheila over. Sheila then had to break the tie and decided to send Natalie home. She told her she had to because she stated twice that she would put Sheila up on the block if she won the final four HoH. I mean it was a legit reason for voting Natalie out so I don’t think Adam and Ryan’s plan to put the blood on Sheila’s hands really worked. Natalie seemed more upset about the two guys when talking to Julie so I have a feeling they will be in for a shock if one of them is sitting next to Sheila in the final two.

The HoH challenge was complete luck as all the questions were a guessing game. It was titled ‘Fact or Fiction’ and they had to either guess if an event in the house was true or false. Most were fiction since true and logical ideas would have been to easy. One question stumped a few of them being: “There is still a pre-existing relationship in the house”. When Julie said the question I realized she was talking about the guinea pigs but only Ryan got the question right. This tied him up with Sharon, who I kind of wanted to win, so they went on to a tie breaker. Ryan ended up pulling through with the tie breaker and claims his second HoH. But as we know HoH just means immunity this week as the veto is the most important thing. Nominations won’t really matter either as whoever holds the veto simply holds the vote as well. We will find out who wins this veto and who makes the final three next Tuesday with a special LIVE edition. Then the final two is crowned the next day so next week will be a very crazy and exciting week. Oh how I can’t wait!

An Interview With Big Brother 9’s Jen

Big Brother 9, CBS, Interviews No Comments

I was lucky enough to get a chance to ask Jen from Big Brother 9 a few questions. She let us know how she thinks Ryan is doing, how she got involved with the show and how she thinks it will affect her and Ryan’s relationship. Thanks to Jen for the great interview!

1) How did you get involved in the casting for BB9? Did you send in a video tape, go to a casting call? And did you watch Big Brother before being on the show?

I have watched Big Brother since season 1 and said that it was a passion of mine, to one day, be on Big Brother! I applied 4 times and got a little bit closer each time. This past season, I went to an open casting call in Columbus and the rest is history!

2) As we all know you entered the house with your boyfriend Ryan. Were you surprised to see him there for did you know going in that you both would be in the game? If you knew, were you at all nervous about going in as a pair?

Yes, I knew Ryan was going to be there and I had no idea that we were going to be put into pairs on the show. Needless to say, I was very unhappy about NOT being paired up with him!

3) Going back to night one, you won the Power Couple. Do you still think it was a good idea to win the power the first night and do you still think that Jacob and Sharon were the best couple to evict?

Yes, I still think it was a great idea to win Power Couple, and of course 10,000 dollars! If I could do it all over again,. I would NOT have sent Sharon and Jacob packing. Instead we should have just stuck with our gut and gotten rid of Sheila and Adam!

4) What was sequester like with Parker after being evicted? We know he wasn’t too happy with the situation, did anything happen off camera that we should know about? He looked pretty angry when talking to Julie.

No, Parker and I got a raw deal and it’s very unfortunate that it didn’t work out to our benefit. Living with Parker in sequester was fine. We are like brother and sister. Off camera, we just said that we could have, should have handled situations differently, but it’s a woulda, coulda, shoulda kinda game and everything happened for a reason. We can’t go back, only learn from our mistakes and move forward. After all, it’s just a game.

5) Do you think being on the show with Ryan will affect your relationship at all? How do you think he’s been playing the game?

If anything, being on Big Brother will make mine and Ryan’s relationship stronger! I think it will bring us closer together than we have ever been! Absence makes the heart grow fonder. No one ever says however, how the heat hurts in the process! I cannot wait to have our LIFE back! I think Ryan has been playing an AMAZING game and I couldn’t be more proud of him! I love him with all of my heart!

6) Besides Ryan who do you want to see win the game and why? Who do you think least deserves to win and why?

Of course I want to see Ryan win this game! If he can’t win it then I would like to see Natalie win. She deserves it! Maybe Adam too! I don’t think Sheila deserves to win, at all! She has done nothing to deserve the grand prize. She has won nothing and is floating on by!

7) Do you feel you were portrayed correctly on the show and do you think the producers tried to sway you in any way during Diary Room sessions?

The way I was portrayed on the show is pretty accurate. I am definitely a little different in real life, not such a bitch! I do have my moments and I can be hard to get along with if you cross me, but I am a good person and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. There were certain situations that were edited and cut to make me look like a bad person. But, that’s what I signed up for! Everyone that knows me, knows the real me! Especially Ryan! I am not able to comment on the diary room….sorry!

8) What would you tell those who are applying for BB10? If you could give people who are applying any suggestions what would they be?

Never give up! If at first you don’t succeed, try try again! It took me 4 times!

9) Is there anything you’d like to get off your chest or anything else you would like to say to your fans and fans of the show?

Keep watching! It’s a great show! The only thing that I would like to get off my chest is that the whole racist thing is NOT as it seems! They cut out a huge part of that conversation! Most importantly….Ryan is NOT racist and I wasn’t campaigning against him. That conversation with Sheila happened before I was even nominated! I took the comment back, reworded things, and explained it in a way that wasn’t so harsh…..but of course that’s not how they showed it to America. All that matters to me is that Ryan knows the truth and he does and I am not at all worried about it or our relationship!

I would like to thank Jen once again for the great interview! If you would like to keep track of Jen and send her a message you can check out Jen’s MySpace.
