America’s Got Talent is back and this time they are going to a brand new town to start: Dallas, Texas. Here we got most of what I expected, cowboys and other random stunts. Most of the first acts sucked, including the stupid line dancing guy. Who ever heard of a one person line dancer? The group included some hoola-hoopers and a horse wrangler. Nothing with talent.
Next up was someone who I believed was really good but it was odd since the judges were kind of mixed. Of course she wasn’t that smart, but she did sound great! Sharon didn’t like her singing, Piers loved it while David was mixed as well. They let her do Dolly Parton and once again the crowd loved it. In the end the second shot saved her as David loved the Dolly song, thank God because she was really great! Sharon even loved her this time.
They then showcased some of the talent that got passed through. Two acrobats, an 11 year old piano player went through along with street performers. Those from the street performer group were pretty good as they balanced the one guy on some knives! Of course none of these are your average Dallas talent which I think the town lacked a bit.
Beyond Belief, a dance troop, was up next and they had a good package on them. They were pretty good and of course loved by the crowd but the judges as mixed feelings for them. Piers of course hates the outfits and makeup, his normal dislikes, but he loves their dancing. Sharon loved it while David agreed with Piers. That moved the troop along giving us another group moving on to Vegas.
Animals then became the stars of the show. A pig, named Smithfield, was a painting pig who painted abstract…. obviously. It wasn’t really an act but was somewhat funny at least. Piers gave him an X before he even picked up a brush and the others followed suit by not putting the painting pig onto Vegas. Wow I didn’t see that one coming. More animals were then shown, a lady dancing with a dog, more of the pig, a button hitting monkey and a few dogs doing tricks were all kicked off the stage. Then it came time for a REAL act featuring an animal. Doing an acrobatic canine disk routine was Tucker. He danced around, lunged for Frisbees and flipped his way around the stage. It was a great act and was very high energy! The dog flipped in such an amazing way that the judges just had to move him on to Vegas.
A Frank Sinatra impersonator went out next. Not only was he impersonating Sinatra but singing his music as well. At 71 he’s one of the oldest the show has seen this season so it was interesting to see him perform. He sounded great and everyone loved it! David and Sharon even got up and danced to his music while most were stunned how close to Sinatra he sounded! Piers said he was perfect, which is an amazing statement, so it was obvious he was moving to the Vegas round. It was a great way to end the Dallas auditions and now we move on to Chicago.
Back in Chicago it was time to start the show and brother/sister dancers kicked things off. They claimed to be the best salsa dancers you would ever see and they were kind of right! They danced amazingly well together and got the crowd pumped for sure. Piers even said they could make it to the end so it was obvious they judges would pass them through and off to Vegas they go. The next couple was a “singing couple” who were WAY too happy. Their singing was way off since she was great while he sucked horribly. Has the wife performed well together she could have gone passed through but with the crowd booing it was obvious they wouldn’t be passed on to Vegas.
Next up was some guy who was at least seven feet tall. George The Giant was his name and his talent wasn’t obvious at first. But after a few minutes things became rather gross as he pulled a straw completely through his nose and through his mouth. He even drank through the straw while it was in his mouth. Sharon wasn’t too fond of it but the ended was sure a fire starter, literally. Fireworks exploded from his chest to end his act and things were very strange from the judges. Although he has a strange talent Piers said yes while Sharon said no. It was then left up to David and he said yes, moving the strange giant off to Vegas.
Jessica, a singer, was up next and pretty nervous. She had a great back story that makes for great tv and her performance was great as well. She even got a standing ovation from the crowd which is a sure sign of moving along. They loved her and moved her on to Vegas, although they wanted her to smile and relax. She promised to try and that got her a yes from Sharon, meaning she went along to the next round.
The show then moved onto Atlanta, Georgia with some very odd “talents”. The first guy they showed was a male stripper who was so strange it was somewhat unbearable to watch. Thank Jesus he didn’t move through since it was just so odd. More strange acts ensued, most of them doing some sort of striping or pole dancing. Luckily “Busty Heart” well busted on to the stage, huge breasts and all. What she did was crush objects using her boobs and also they didn’t pass her through it was seriously the most crazy act I’ve ever seen but very funny!
It seems the talent in Atlanta was kind of sucky but a tap dance troupe saved the day! As they danced in sync it was great energy and they did really well together! Although each had their own personalities, they moved well together and looked great! Not only did the crowd give them a standing ovation but Sharon and David did as well. It was an amazing act and they really deserved all the great compliments they got. Thanfully they moved through and I can’t wait to see how they do in Vegas!
One of the more risky acts was then up and it was a sword swallower. He said he had to actually nudge his heart a bit to do his act and it was a tense moment. He got through it not once, but twice. Then he pulled out the big guns, swallowing several swords at once. It was somewhat hard to watch but amazing at the same time. Although David almost killed the guy by buzzing him half swallow, Piers and Sharon moved him along since it was an amazing talent.
Last up was another child singer who was sure to impress. He was only 9 years old and had autism but was so cute! He sang pretty well and the crowd loved him. The judges loved him too for obvious reasons and put the kid through for a shot in Vegas! That concludes another audition episode of America’s Got Talent and it sure had a ton of talent! Hopefully next week performs as well since tonight will be hard to top.
