Big Brother 10 Births Six Ugly Babies

Big Brother 10, CBS No Comments

Many knew it was coming and that it did, the Big Brother morph-o-matic returned once again toting six babies this time around. Only one could be called “cute” but otherwise the 13 houseguests of Big Brother 10 make some ugly kids! Following the nominations by Jerry of Keesha and Dan, things were looking up for both Memphis and Renny. With a final two with everyone BUT Renny, Memphis felt he was a shoe in for winning the game and I think he may still feel that way. Dan and Keesha also weren’t too worried about going home as they knew the Power of Veto played a pivotal role in how the round would be played out. Winning the PoV was the only sure bet on being safe and also could be the deciding factor of who went home.

Up in the HoH Dan took some time to talk to Jerry who realized the four were only being friendly since he was in power. Dan made sure Jerry knew he wasn’t upset for going on the block and both reiterated that the Power of Veto could and most likely would change the playing field. Renny seemed out of the loop that the PoV was so important this week so Jerry took the time to fill her in. Once she learned that she would be auto nominated if Memphis won the PoV, Renny became visibly upset and went straight to Keesha. Renny then went on and on about how she knows that she is the target and will probably be going this week. Keesha consoled her to her face, but in the Diary Room she let us know that Renny worrying was a bit annoying. Renny wasn’t even on the block, yet, so Keesha felt there was no point in complaining.

Following a quick break Big Brother actually showed Jerry’s now famous fall into the pool! I really didn’t think they would show it but since he didn’t get hurt I guess it’s fun to laugh at his expense. I mean he could have got electrocuted thanks to his mic pack, now that would have been great TV! Later that night Memphis took the time to secure his final two pack with Jerry, Keesha and then Dan. He told all three that he would go to the final two with them but said he still doesn’t know who he would take. Memphis isn’t playing a great visible game but if none of the three catch on, he could be sitting “very pretty” in the finals.

With the numbers dwindling BB had to show some past footage, making it look like it was recent. They pulled out the very funny moment of Dan copying Renny’s every move; followed by Renny strangling Renny. It was put into context this week though as Dan is using the annoyance tactic to get Renny off of her game. The annoyance culminated in the Hippie Room where the four were chatting. When the idea that Renny was worried about being nominated came up, Dan jumped on the opportunity. He egged it on that she probably would go on the block which set Renny off. As she exited the room she spanked Dan, followed by Dan saying “physical violence”. Renny stormed out of the room saying he deserved it and that she doesn’t care about a penalty nomination. Luckily Big Brother didn’t reprimand!

Later that night it was time for the Power of Veto competition, the famous morph-o-matic! This time around the players were morphed together into babies. Each of the five players had to guess who the father and mother were of the “baby”. Their faces were morphed together and placed on a babies body where the quickest to get all six correct would win the Power of Veto. When it came to time Renny did the worst. She didn’t realize a bald baby would have Jerry as the father and after trying every guy she finally got it correct. With 23 minutes and 32 seconds, Renny came in dead last and she sure wasn’t happy with herself about that. Jerry was up next with 8 minutes and 1 second. He didn’t have many problems either then the first kid who was an ugly April and Dan.

With only three left it was up to either Dan, Keesha or Memphis to win the Power of Veto. Since she walked SO slow during the competition, Keesha came in third with 5 minutes and 16 seconds. Although both Dan and Memphis did well and actually RAN (unlike Keesha) their times were rather close and only differed by 8 seconds. But only one could win and with 2 minutes and 50 seconds, Memphis took home the Power of Veto and put himself in an awkward position. He had a final two with both nominees and a deal with Jerry to not use the veto.

The day following the Power of Veto, Dan and Memphis talked about what should go down. Their Renegade alliance hanged in the balance and Memphis made Dan swear he would vote Renny out in order to use the Power of Veto. Memphis had two things he had to do though and that was make sure Keesha and Jerry were ok with it. Keesha didn’t seem too upset since Memphis kept saying they would be in the finals. Jerry was the one who had some problems with it as he wanted Dan out badly, but Memphis obviously won’t take Jerry so I doubt his opinion mattered.

Later that day it was time for the Power of Veto ceremony. Both Keesha and Renny both realized that Memphis would probably use the Power of Veto and nothing could be done to change that. In the living room Memphis did just that and saved Dan from the chopping block. This forced Jerry to put Renny on the block, since she was the only one eligible to go. That leaves the votes to both Memphis and Dan with Jerry breaking a tie if they vote opposite. It should be an interesting night come Thursday as either Keesha or Renny will be evicted. With only one “real” HoH left it’s a crucial one so all three will be fighting to win it. Plus tune in Thursday for a look in the jury house, who knows what type of drama has been going on there!

The Crew Go Trucking On America’s Toughest Jobs

America's Toughest Jobs, NBC 2 Comments

Last week America’s Toughest Jobs took on the seas of Deadliest Catch and this week another Discovery Channel favorite is visited: Ice Road Truckers. The twelve remaining contestants remained in Alaska for the task and after getting their permits to drive 18 wheelers the challenge was off. With only six big rigs for the job, the twelve were split into pairs with two in each truck. One would drive 250 miles to Anchorage Alaska while the other would take over the remaining 250 miles the next day.

With the first six on the road half had problems. Rommel started it off early by stalling out as the trucks pulled onto the road and continued that streak while going up one of the many Alaskan hills. Bryce also had some trouble on the hill but his problems were going down. Since the hills are so steep, breaking wasn’t an option so the truckers had to downshift to make the decent. With over 10 gears to choose from, some of the drivers were finding it difficult to pull off these shifts, one of them being Bryce. Chris had the hardest drive though, stalling not once but several times on two different hills. His driving was so dangerous that his supervisor pulled him from the drivers seat and allowed his partner Phil to take over for the rest of the drive. Phil, along with Rie and Eric, did great at the drivers seat and showed how ice road trucking should be done.

After a nights sleep, which happened to be in the bright Alaska night, the next six drivers were ready to take the reamining 250 miles which were much worse then the first. The six driving this time faced a blizzard, unpaved roads and several avalanche warnings. About a quarter way through the drive the cast pulled up to a newly crashed truck and it made them all think just how dangerous their “job” was. It caused little paranoia though as most of the second round drivers did well. Sandy once again shined as she proved it doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman doing the job and Phil once again showed his success at the wheel. The only one with problems was Amy, once again. She was horrible at crab fishing and it was obvious she wouldn’t fair well here. Although she did well pre-hills, she almost killed Rie and herself by not putting the truck in gear doing down a steep and curvy hill. Her supervisor almost pulled her from the seat but luckily she got the truck in gear last minute. Chris also had a second chance to prove himself to his supervisor but after sleeping most of the way while Phil was driving he learned very little. With his big mouth open, Chris drove well his second time but berrated his supervisor in “his truck” which sent Chris packing. His supervisor was so heated from the argument that he kicked him out of the truck all together, forcing him to drive to the finish point with the boss and Josh, the host.

When it came time to name the bottom four Josh asked the truckers who they thought should be in there. It was kind of pointless to do so though, if you ask me, since they only got to see how their partner drove. After asking Rie who should be in the bottom four, she chose her partner Amy since that’s the only person she could evaluate. Amy didn’t take it too kindly though and when the weakest four were announced, Rie leaned in for a hug but Amy wasn’t having it. She couldn’t deal with Rie’s flip flop of friendship and “call out” but hey the producers basically asked for it. Since I got ahead of myself let’s just say the bottom four now. Rommel, Bryce, Amy and obviously Chris were chosen to compete to stay in the game. What they had to do was back one of the trucks up to gate without hitting any cones. They then had to remove the hydraulics, pull out the pin connecting the truck to the freight and then pull the truck through the finish line. The slowest to do so would go home and would not be able to compete in the next job.

Bryce started things off but not so well. It took him two tries to back the truck up and after hitting a cone his time went up by a minute. In the end he did finish though and Rommel was up next. Rommel did well, by not hitting any cones and perfectly lining up his truck he beat Bryce’s time which ensured he would stay in the game. Crazy Chris followed Rommel and showed his lack of trucking skills once again. After taking several attempts to get the truck lined up with the gate and hitting two cones, Chris finally finished with a time well over Bryce’s, meaning it was up to Amy to either send herself home or send Chris home. With a stellar move into the gate, Amy was sure to do well but her bad luck continued as she couldn’t pull the pin out, disconnected the freight car. Her lack of strength showed once again and with her time going past Chris’, Amy was sent packing and told she would not be moving on to the next job.

Next week its gold mining time! It doesn’t seem THAT hard but hey, I guess if you get swept away in a river like one contestant is rumored it, it just might be the toughest one yet!

Dan Breaks His Deal On Big Brother 10

Big Brother 10, CBS No Comments

In the beginning of the game it seemed like Dan would be a very weak player but he surely was just portraying that. After tonight it shows that Dan is one of the strongest players in the game but still playing in a behind the scenes way. Following the nomination ceremony Memphis immediately went to talk to Dan. Although the two are aligned, Memphis was not happy that Dan put him up on the block and after Memphis learned the third part of the deal things got even more intense.

Later Dan talked to both Keesha and Renny, asking them if he made a mistake. Keesha was on the negative, saying it probably won’t work out like he wanted to. Renny was siding with Dan since he was going with Ollie’s deal. She did however get a bit upset when they discussed who would go up after the veto was played. Renny got a bit snippy with Dan, thinking she would go on the block. It was odd to see Renny turn this way but humorous at the same time. On the other side of the house were Ollie, Jerry and Michelle. Although Michelle already knew the PoV clause of the deal, Ollie filled Jerry in but he didn’t buy it. Dan screwed Jerry over before and he didn’t doubt that he would do it again. Ollie was still in high hopes thing and on his “I’m the HoH” trip. He’ll learn soon though, oh will he ever.

When the houseguests were all called into the living room they knew something was up. Everyone got emotional when the chance for a call from home was revealed but Michelle took it hardest. She cried before the winner was even announced since she misses her mother. She’s talked about her mom several times on the feeds so I can understand her pain but I doubt she realizes what America thinks about her. The next morning a phone suddenly appeared in the house and began to ring. Michelle was the one to first hear it and picked it up. Jerry’s daughter was on the other end and it became obvious that Jerry won America’s vote. He talked to his grandson and wife, who had parkinsons. It was nice to see the two talk and touching as well. One of the better calls from home and Jerry deserved it for sure.

Following the call from home, Dan was talking to both Memphis and Keesha in his HoH. They realized how important it was to win the PoV since Dan wanted to go against his word and put Michelle on the block. The three realized she was a powerful force in the house and wanted her gone. When the Power of Veto players were chosen, everyone but Ollie would be playing. He was a bit pissed that he couldn’t control his “own fate’ but since he’s HoH he’s safe anyway right? Oh yeah, he ISN’T the HoH although he may think he is. Stupid, stupid Ollie.

For the Power of Veto competition the six players would play in two heats. The winner from each heat would face off in one last round to see who would win the Power of Veto. In order to win the players had to fly across a gap in “Planet Veto” to grab several puzzle pieces. The first to get their puzzle together would win the heat. In the first go around, Dan, Keesha and Michelle faced off. It was really only up to Michelle or Keesha to win as Dan was, once again, throwing it. Although Michelle was good at gliding, Keesha’s puzzle skills gave her the win for the first heat. In round two Memphis, Jerry and Renny were gliding for a win. Since Renny was only in it to have fun, Jerry and Memphis competed to win the power. Memphis ended up getting his puzzle together quicker, pitting him against Keesha for the Power of Veto. Since both were going ot use it if they won it wasn’t that pivotal to rush. In the end Memphis put the new puzzle together faster, giving him the Power of Veto to take himself off the block.

Since everyone knew Memphis would remove himself, Dan had to put someone else up on the block. He discussed that Michelle would go up with his alliance and they all agreed. When he got to talk to Ollie he said that the deal was still on but wanted to play a game at the veto meaning. He asked Ollie to say to the house that Renny would go on the block if he could pick the replacement. Ollie was a bit confused since he wanted Keesha on the block. He did agree though as did Michelle to say Keesha and Keesha to say Michelle. Renny was the only one to not want to tell Ollie that he wanted him up since he felt it was a cop out for Dan. She wanted Dan to put the target on himself and it was smart of Renny to do that. In the end she agreed to do that and all four did just that at the meeting. Once Memphis took himself off it was up to Dan to put Michelle on the block. After his “game” he told Ollie he lost his bet and placed Michelle next to Jerry. We didn’t get to see too much of Ollie’s temper tantrum but hopefully on Thursday more will come!

It’s All About The Money On Big Brother 10

Big Brother 10, CBS No Comments

With the only showmance of the season gone Big Brother turns to its home stretch. Following the eye opening Power of Veto ceremony, the house was up in confusion about who offered Dan the money. April was upset that he would tell everyone while Jerry was upset that April would stoop that low for a vote. Michelle was really the only one wondering who, between April and Jerry, did the offering and when she confronted Dan he simply said it wasn’t meant that way. I don’t think they ever got to the bottom of the money question but the bribing sure didn’t end there.

When Ollie and April realized that they may be spending their last week together they went into game mode. Both targeted Michelle to start but she quickly shot them down, saying she would vote however the house voted. This led them, once again, to Dan. Ollie started off by saying how he would have two people not putting him on the block if they won HoH compared to Jerry who was only one person. April then got to Dan and let him know she would do anything for his vote, even throwing him a few gold bars. It’s a shame she would use the money to gain a vote from Dan after he basically revealed that she did earlier. Dan hinted that his mind was still not made up which seemed to set April at ease a bit atleast.

For the nights interview from home we finally got to see how April and Ollie’s family feel about their “showmance”. During the segment we saw the two discussing moving in together, which April says was a huge joke, but who knows. Ollie’s parents were up first and talked highly of their son. I still wonder if they REALLY know what’s going on in the house. Although his father didn’t know what a showmance was he said it was ok as long as it was real. April’s sister was happy for the couple as well, comparing Ollie to herself. The only time she disagreed with the relationship was when Ollie “fake” proposed. Her eyes lit up so fast you could hardly tell the difference between her and her twin April!

During the time Julie took to talk to the houseguests little was given out. The questions weren’t that hard hitting this week which was kind of disappointing. Showing a video to the houseguests of Ollie’s fear of birds was the only good thing that came from the segment which led into a very long Renny rant. Up in the HoH Julie hardly got any words in as Renny blabbed about her different sides and her mother and father. She also went on how she is against Memphis and always was. It was about 10 minutes and I’m sure the producers were freaking out, hoping she would stop to give them a break to go to the votes!

When Renny finally shut up long enough for the votes it was that time. April was evicted as suspected and walked out the door happy with only Ollie’s vote not cast for her. Outside she let Julie know that her and Ollie’s relationship is more of a friend them “romance” but they sure didn’t act that way in the house. The audience laughed when Julie mentioned starting a family and I’m sure April realized then that everyone knew her and Ollie’s not so hidden secret. April’s interview outside was actually one of the better ones this season and led us into probably one of the most entertaining endurance HoHs ever devised.

Out in the backyard all six players for the HoH sat on a round disk. They were themed as vines and when it started to rain it seemed that would be it. BUT there is SO much more to this challenge that makes it one of the most fun to watch. Every so often the vines swing back and actually swing the houseguests into a wall! It actually seems kind of fun but after awhile I assume there will be some brusing. If only Renny was in the mix it would be so much more fun to watch but atleast we have Jerry to make fun of! He’s already starting the “do you know how old I am” complaints!

Some Fun Moments Showcased On Big Brother 10

Big Brother 10, CBS No Comments

With the lack of fights this week we finally got a “clip show” episode with some actual strategy thrown in. After winning HoH last week, Renny has created a stir between the two sides of the house. Although she was happy for her friend, Keesha worried that Renny would pull a crazy move while April knew she was going on the block. It was nice to see Renny win something as many underestimated her and when she became emotional I somewhat knew it would be a very stable, yet crazy at times, week.

As Keesha, Renny and the gang celebrated their win, Ollie and April used the time to scheme. They knew April was going up and, being annoyed themselves with Jerry, they knew she could put Ollie up with her. Since Jerry was barging in on them every three minutes they knew he had to go on the block with April. Being that most the house had some kind of beef with them it was the only thing that could save the duo and keep the season’s showmance alive! Renny had other plans though as she realized Memphis was getting too close with Keesha. Keesha was Renny’s main alliance and she feared that Memphis could steal her away. This put the idea in Renny’s mind to possibly put Memphis on the block and Keesha assured her that there was no deal made.

Later that night Renny was allowed in to see her HoH bedroom. Before she entered she let everyone know how much she missed her mother and father and how they would love to see her on the show. When she saw their two pictures a new side of Renny was shown as she sobbed, almost uncontrollably. It was nice to see a softer sid of Renny. Like Jerry said she’s been putting on a clown show for everyone so far but her serious side is there. She was fine while reading her letter from home though and everyone enjoyed it when she read it out loud. Renny had one of the best HoH bedroom segments and it’s great to be a part of it.

Following that touching moment we were blessed with a few fillers. First up was the torture of April’s stuffed dog: Holly. Renny was the first to grab it and throw it around outside. Michelle egged her on and when April came out to see her pet being thrown around she scrambled. Renny then threw it to Dan, in the hot tub, and it went for a swim. April was visibly upset and Renny was happy to see that as she let us know in the Diary Room. Next up CBS finally decided to show Ollie and April’s romance other then little things. They showed the two cuddling in bed and Ollie fake proposed to her. They talked about how they are just friends, but us feed watchers know that is a lie!

The next day it was all about the food competition. The season was missing a “dinner from hell” but we got something even better: Rock, Paper, Scissors From Hell! The house was slit into two teams being: Keesha, Dan, April and Michelle on the red team and Jerry, Memphis and Ollie on the black team. They would go head to head in Big Brother’s version of rock, paper, scissors: Crickets, Slop, Pigs Feet. Each round the person who picked the winning food item would have to eat it. If they did they would gain a point for their team, the first to four would win food for the week. The losing team would be on slop.

Up first were Dan and Memphis. Dan chose crickets, which he had to eat and did eat, putting the red team up one point. Next was Michelle vs Ollie where Michelle won with crickets as well, she also ate them and gained another point making it two for red and zero for black. Third up was April and Jerry where Jerry won by eating slop giving the red team their first point. When Dan and Memphis came back up, Memphis won this time by picking pigs feet which he ate, making it a tied game. When Michelle and Ollie went back up Michelle chose pigs feet, which she loves, and ate them easily. April and Jerry went up and April was making the game point for the red team. She chose pigs feet yet she is vegetarian. She ate all three in two bites, claiming victory for the red team. That meant Ollie, Jerry and Memphis were on slop for the week but thanks to America they also get to eat giant lollipops!

Ollie was the focus of the next few segments, the first being his fear of birds. It was on the feeds a few days ago but CBS finally got around to showing it. A few crows decided to land on the outside wall one day and it freaked Ollie out. He ran around the back yard, trying to avoid them before finally sneaking back inside out of their site. Up in the HoH bedroom Renny was making moves and trying to decide her nominations. She wanted April on the block for sure but wanted to split up April, Ollie and Jerry without angering all three. Her conclusion was to put up either Dan, Memphis, Keesha or Michelle as a pawn but they all said no. Renny then realized that Ollie hadn’t been playing the game, at all, and called him to her room. She told him straight out what she thought but he said he was there to win. He also called April a big threat, which I think saved him as Renny put April and Jerry on the block. Keesha didn’t seem to happy with that while April was ecstatic that Ollie didn’t go up. Should be an interesting veto as us feed watchers still have no clue what the winner will do. To find out tune back Tuesday when the PoV is played and possibly used!
