On last weeks Survivor Marcus was blindsided but he won’t be along after tonights episode is said and done. After Kota’s first “real” tribal council since the third episode it was time to discuss the blindside. Kenny called himself the new “Crystal” after speaking out during the session while Bob realized he was next to go if they lost again. He made a somewhat stupid joke, about being “history” if they lost again. He’s a science teacher. Ha…. ha.. no. Over at Fang things were still looking bleak as they weren’t given rice with the swap. Both tribes are hoping for a merge while Corinne just hopes to see Marcus.
At the next reward challenge it was all about slingshot golf. When Fang got their first glimpse at the new Kota both Corinne’s and Charlie’s mouths dropped. They were very angry and let everyone know. Corinne claimed that Marcus didn’t deserve to go, while Kenny fought back saying nobody deserves to go. Charlie was less subtle, saying that he’s upset that Marcus went but still mad. For the actual challenge the two tribes would play best two out of three, facing off in slingshot golf. They would slingshot a ball towards a flag poll, the first to get it in the sand pit near the flag would gain a point. Kota was able to gain the first point thanks to Bob’s crazy shot while Fang rebounded by getting the second point. That pit the two tribes against each other in the last course. Kota landed right next to the sand pit while Fang bounced a little too far. While trying to get the ball only two inches from the pit Randy started freaking out. They were obviously going to get it in no matter what yet he wanted perfection. In the end Matty plopped the ball into the pit, giving Fang their first reward win as a new team.

So I finally got around to seeing the finale of Survivor Micronesia and all I can say is wow. I didn’t see half of that coming. If you read my finale prediction I was as wrong as could be as I didn’t expect a F2 and didn’t expect Parvati to come anywhere close to a win. It was interesting to see that they went right into a final four immunity without the “rights of passage” ceremony so I figured something was up. At the challenge I got somewhat nervous as Natalie was in the lead early and that usually guarantees a win but Amanda scooped up her first immunity this season ensuring she’d be in the final three.
At this point I figured Natalie would go but then Cirie’s name came into the pot and well I was not happy about that. Parvati and Amanda figured it would be a final three for the end vote and felt Cirie would be hard to beat. She did have a lot of friends on the jury as well as being a great talker. It really wasn’t known going into what was thought as the final tribal who was going between Cirie and Natalie. Then Cirie had to open her mouth and mention how she felt at the bottom of the totem poll when it came to Parvati and Amanda so I thought her fate was sealed. Once the votes were cast though Natalie’s name came out with 3 - 1 votes and luckily Cirie pulled through to an all favorite final three of women.
The three girls wok up the next morning expecting food and got nothing but a paddle of doom. It let them know that there was still another immunity challenge and therefore this meant it was a final two once again. I’m not sure why they switched back but this is the one time I wish they would have ended at a final three. Amanda took it the worst as she broke down to both Parvati and Cirie. She didn’t want to play the game anymore and it made everyone remember she’s been playing the game for almost six months straight.
After Amanda pulled it together the three women went off for the rights of passage ceremony as they laid each voted out torch to rest. Most of the fans didn’t have much to be said about as none of the three really got to meet some of them but most were memorable statements from those voted out and made me realize I forgot about half the people voted out pre-merge. I didn’t remember most of the fans who were out early and I now realize I didn’t care about half of the fans.
The last immunity challenge was actually very simple yet very interesting. The three girls had to balance several blocks by only two end paddles. They also made it a bit harder by forcing them to make sure a small ball didn’t move from the rod they were creating. All three did fairly well until Parvati fell out half way through. This meant that either Cirie or Amanda would win and both made it to the last round where whoever dropped out first would give the immunity to the other. Both were shaking and off balance throughout the time but Cirie slipped first giving Amanda another shot at the final tribal council and this time the sole power to send someone home.
When the three got back to camp Cirie basically knew she wouldn’t be making it to the finals once again but Amanda gave her some hope. She realized that Parvati did play a very social game and had some friends on the jury while Cirie hadn’t made that many tight bonds. Also Parvati gave her some reason to take Cirie as she told her that Cirie would never win against herself. Amanda then went to the last tribal council run down and spent. It was assumed she’d vote out Cirie but I guess the way this season was going anything could have happened. The way Amanda was crying and freaking out made it seem her decision was harder then it seemed. In the end she sent Cirie packing and lost her vote in the end because of it.
At the last tribal council Amanda and Parvati both took heat. Amanda was only praised by Ozzy (who professed his love for her) and James since both hated Parvati with a vengeance. Although they were new Alexis and Natalie had the best and strangest questions. Alexis was really good at pinpointing Amanda’s acting during tribal while Natalie just continued her psycho reign by basically professing her love for Parvati. She wanted to know how her flirting and strategic skills were represented “in the bedroom”, alas having the most pointless question in Survivor history.
Before the votes were read I had a feeling Amanda would win as she wasn’t as bashed as badly as Parvati was but I was once again wrong. In the end the votes came out 3 for Amanda and 5 for Parvati, meaning Amber 2.0 won Survivor Micronesia. Jeff Probst basically called Parvati the new Amber and he was right as she became the 16th winner of a million dollars and the first female winner since Guatemala. In the end it was a great season with shocks after shocks, even the winner was a shock! Now we turn our minds to Survivor Gabon which I predicted would be the location a few weeks ago. It looks amazing and for the first time it will be shot in high definition. Can Gabon top Micronesia? We can only hope! (Oh and yes, Amanda and Ozzy are now dating)
Why oh why do people complain when they get played? I mean the show opens up with Erik saying that the “playing field has been lowered to lying”. Seriously dude, do you know what show you are on? People lie since day one! I mean seriously, he had to realize what he was getting himself into. You can’t go on Survivor and expect to win by not lying to anyone or anyone at all to lie. He wasn’t even voted out and he’s complaining. Erik has just got on by bad side and I really hope he gets played harder then Joel was.
Remaining at the Malakal beach we learned that all the fans were feeling the heat of just voting out Joel. Tracy knew she had to do it to keep her alliance of Chet in the game but realized the numbers were now not in her favor. I’m not sure if they have Erik on their side, I’d assume they do but it isn’t clear. Tracy is proving to be a very big player and pulled Ami aside. Ami realizes she’s low on the favorite totem poll as the other three, Amanda, Ozzy and Cirie were all in an alliance pre-swap. It seems like Ami holds the power on Malakal as she could go either way right now.
Over as Arai it seems the favorites are in power as well. Jonathan and Eliza know they have to get either Parvati or James out, since they are too close, and set a plan of attack. They both want to join the fans to get either of the two love birds out and would control the game over there if they did. The only problem there was Jonathan’s knee which he says was getting better. I’m not sure if he really was getting better or just telling everyone that so they wouldn’t worry…
At the reward challenge the survivors had to first barricade a tunnel and after 10 minutes they would switch and have to remove the other tribes barricade and crawl through the tunnel. The winning tribe would get a visit from two natives to the camp who would show them how to live off the land. Malakal was in an early lead, as usual, but was once again quickly beaten by the new Arai. I’m kind of sad this is happening and it’s like deja vu for Ozzy who had the same problem in the Cook Islands. Plus Malakal losing meaning my favorite Cirie loses and that just sucks!
Before they returned to their beach Jonathan was asked to be looked at by the medics. I had a bad feeling this moment was on it’s way and it was very hard to watch. I liked Jonathan in the Cook Islands and thought he was playing a great game once again. I really didn’t want him to go but knew it was best for him. It was so hard to watch though, and is one of the saddest moments I can ever remember watching the show. I’m glad Jonathan was able to recover but sadly it was at the loss of the game for him and for us, the loss of a great player and personality on the show.
As Arai returned to their beach it was a very bitter sweet feeling. They had to deal with Jonathan being evacuated but won a great reward that would give them a much better camp life. James was the only guy remaining after Jason went to Exile and seemed very uncomfortable. Luckily two Micronesia men named Joe and Edwin visited the beach and gave them some excitement. The two taught the Arai tribe how to fish and how to catch crabs. It was nothing major, at least from what they showed, other then a huge feast for the group which they made up for after their last feast was washed away b the waves last time.
At Malakal things suddenly changed. They realized that they were on the outs as they haven’t won a challenge since the swap. Ami knew things weren’t going well and decided she would change things up. She told Tracy that she will stay loyal to her and the other fans to get Cirie out of the game. They felt Cirie should go since she’s been playing the game hard yet still is nice at heart (that’s what I love about her) and well apparently that makes her more a threat then crazy challenge threat Ozzy. Not much else really happened on Malakal but over at Exile Island some fun foreshadowing was sure a brewing!
Both Chet and Jason were sent to Exile after the reward challenge and both had different agendas. Chet, who has a “foot injury” decided to basically vegetate some more and let jungle boy Jason run around island hoping at will. Jason, which we knew thanks to the spoiling preview, found the fake idol and is apparently a complete idiot. He believed a freaking stick with a little face carved into it was a Survivor big production immunity idol and I just can’t WAIT until he tries to play it. Seriously it will really make up for the leave of Jonathan.
At the immunity challenge everyone learned that Jonathan was evacuated and thanks to Jason’s big mouth that Ozzy has the hidden idol. Of course not everyone believed him but I’m sure it put the idea in some people’s minds. Plus it probably put a huge target on Jason’s back as now people will think HE has the idol, or at least found where it is. The challenge was a rehash from a few seasons ago but this time people got smart, at least Arai did. They carried both Parvati and Eliza using one pole instead of two and basically cut their time in half. It gave them such a huge lead, once again, that Malakal had no chance to catch up and giving them another notch in their immunity win tree.
Malakal once again had to decide who would be leaving and Chet made it obvious that he wanted to go since his “foot was infected”. Seriously someone just went out of the game for a REAL infection, so stop complaining. Although the plan was already set basically, Tracy and Erik came up with an idea to oust Ozzy. It was a great idea and would have been CRAZY if he had happened, but Chet couldn’t mester up the strength for even three more days. He basically gave himself his own walking papers and saved Ozzy, giving us a very unexciting end to a very exciting, yet sad, rest of an episode. Next week it seems that Kathy goes even more crazier, if that’s possible.
