Survivor Gabon got even more interesting as the tribe who nobody thought could gain a win actually did, sending the dominate Kota to Tribal council. Following Fang’s most recent tribal council where crazy old bat Gillian was voted off, the tribe was more fractured then ever before. Although everyone knew they’d have a new day in the morning to recoup, Randy was a bit upset that he got put on the “stupid” tribe.
Randy’s opinion didn’t change in the morning as he realized they were done half their rice in only seven days. As Randy asked the tribe to cut it down to two meals a day everyone agreed…. except for GC. He felt he didn’t have anything to do with it since they wasted a pot of rice in the first few days. Since GC once again felt someone was targetting him for a fight, Randy brought it to him as the two quarreled. It then became obvious who was the “cancer” in the group, according to Randy at least.
What can I say? Big Brother 10 is showing what Big Brother is meant to be as it continues to shift power and shock not only the house guests but the viewers as well. With a surprise eviction for one player, a rebound shift of power for another and 9 All Stars entering the house who can’t love Big Brother 10?
Following the Power of Veto ceremony it was on awwn as Keesha and Libra wanted to shift the vote to evict Jessie. They knew that April wanted Memphis gone and when they tried she wouldn’t budge on evicting Jessie. Although the two girls pretended to still want Memphis out, Keesha put a plan in motion that would split the group and possibly evict Jessie. She knew that she needed four votes to evict this week but only had three in herself, Libra and Renny. That’s where Dan, America’s Player, came into play. Keesha grabbed Dan, along with Memphis, to show Libra they had the votes. When Dan agreed it was set that Jessie would go, but it was still up to America.
In the backyard April was worried that the two girls would flip and let Jerry know they might. He immediately knew that Dan was the swing vote and talked to him, telling him that he can’t be persuaded by Libra and Keesha. Dan kind of agreed but in an “hmmm, ok Jerry” manner and basically shrugged Jerry off. I don’t know how Jerry couldn’t realize it, but hey I guess he’s old. That night Dan talked directly too America, telling us that we better do what is best for him. It was fun to see someone talking to US and hopefully we didn’t screw Dan over too much.
The night was all about Dan as we saw a video from his family and football team. The team seemed supportive of their coach, although they seemed like they were more Dan’s friends rather then players. His family was split on the America’s Player twist as his sister loved it while his mother hated it. She felt it would hurt his game play but his sister knew he could pull through. After that Julie talked a bit with April. She didn’t mention anything about April and Ollie, you know, but April did say that she feels that her and Ollie’s relationship is true.
When it was time to vote the producers made it pretty obvious. They had Michelle, Jerry and Ollie vote first followed by Libra, Keesha and Renny. Dan was the obvious tie breaker, in reality it was America, and we forced him to evict Jessie. When Jessie walked out of the house, Michelle smacked her hands together and faced in front of everyone. She wasn’t too happy an either was Jessie. Although he didn’t go out in a rage he did leave somewhat angry, not the exit I had hoped for but still pretty good.
During the HoH the houseguests were asked to remember wake up calls that occurred last night. CBS had viewers send in wav files of what they should play to wake up the houseguests. Michelle was the only one to stay up all night and listen to them all. When it came down it is, Libra and Michelle were the final two of the competition. Michelle’s all nighter pulled off as she gained the Head of Household and shifted the power of the house. After such a huge eviction, this should be interesting as Michelle was the one most angry for the leave of Jessie. Oh I can’t wait to see how Michelle, and Jerry, blow up!
Before the show ended Julie dropped a HUGE bomb on us, but not the house. Ten former players of the game will enter the house sometime this weekend to play against those still in the game. In celebration of the 10th season Chicken George, Bunky, Amy, Jun, Jase, Janelle (I’m sure so many are happy about that), Boogie, Jen, Matty and Brian will play in a challenge against the remaining nine. What will the challenge be and what does it mean for the game? Tune in later to find out!
With the game of Big Brother 9 down to its final two it was time to crown the winner of the $500,000. It has been the series first winter series and broke new ground with twists galore. By starting with pairs for the first time ever to three players returning the game was different then ever before. Some loved it while others hated it but you must admit it was nice having a double, and now triple, dose of Big Brother in only a year.
The crowning of the winner had to start somewhere and that was with Sheila joining the jury house. Everyone seemed to think it would be her and were even talking about her as she walked through the doors. She seemed very upset with Adam at the time as she realized he threw the last challenge to make sure Ryan won and took him to the end. The rest of the jury seemed somewhat split as at times they favored Ryan and other times they favored Adam. Natalie, James and Chelsia seemed to take the idea that Adam was the better player, Joshuah, Sharon and Sheila seemed to fight for Ryan to win. Matty was the only one not going either way with who he wanted to win since he was friends with both.
It was then time for the questioning to begin and it once again seemed split. Ryan took the first heat as he told everyone that he would give Jen some money if he won. Everyone didn’t like that comment too much considering Adam said he would surely give $100,000 to open an after school program for kids. A followup question to that was from Chelsia who asked Ryan if he still loves Jen. He told her yes and the reasons why but Chelsia didn’t seemed to like that answer. I knew his relationship with Jen would hurt Ryan in the finals but some seem to be basing their vote simply on that. Adam then started to take some heat, especially from Sheila and Joshuah. Sheila tore into Adam as she felt he didn’t give her credit for him getting to the finals. She also felt Adam lied to her in the house throughout the game. I still don’t know if Sheila was just continuing her “act fighting” with Adam or if this was truly how she felt. Joshuah, on the other hand, tore into Adam as being not being a player. He didn’t agree with Adam throwing the competitions and also disliked the way Adam was “screaming at the screen”. In the end it still seemed unclear as to who would win and I’m still blown away by the vote.
With the votes then locked in Julie then told the jury members that one of them would be winning $25,000 thanks to a vote by America. They also had a few segments of talking with both jury and non-jury along with a few video clips. The first was a small discussion with Natalie and Matt and how they felt about each other. Julie told Natalie she may be in for some surprises when watching the show. This led to Matty apologizing to Natalie for anything she may hear before she even hears them. Next up was the feud between Jen and Allison which still seems to hold. Jen let loose and let everyone know she disliked Allison’s words about her after she was evicted and her thoughts that she was better for Ryan then herself. Allison defended herself by saying she had no feelings for Ryan and doesn’t feel the same for Jen now that she did in the house. The next few clips showed Ryan that Adam did in fact tell Natalie how he voted and also showed Joshuah’s fake tears that convinced Adam. I’m not sure why they squeezed these two clips in as talking to the other jury or non-jury members would have been more exciting.
After that small boredom it was time to crown the winner. Matt’s vote was up first which was for Adam along with Natalie’s who was also for Adam. With two votes for Adam it was Joshuah up next. He voted vote Ryan making it 2-1. Sharon was up next and surprisingly voted opposite of Joshuah which was for Adam making it 3-1. Sheila’s vote was next and it was like fate that her key gave Adam the win. With four votes there was no way Ryan could catch up and Adam leapt into the air, knowing he won the game and half a million dollars. After some time the two finally walked out of the house and all the houseguests waiting outside rushed the door. It was a great feeling to see them finally excited for someone to win the game as it came to a close.
But before we could leave Big Brother world until the summer it was time to give away America’s Favorite Jury money. It was pretty obvious who would get it as people somehow fell in love with James and he was in fact the winner. Sheila came in second which should give her some joy as I feel she did deserve the money as much or not more then James. In my final post for BB9 I’d like to say it was a great season to cover as there was continuous drama and random things that happened this season that will probably never happen again. Although it may not have been the best it did bring some enjoyment to our winter and hopefully even more this summer as BB10 returns on July 13th! Make sure to check back often for any after the show BB9 updates and BB10 news as it comes in!
Big Brother 9 is quickly coming to an end and tonight we reached the second to last episode where the final two was crowned. The show began where the last left off as Adam, Ryan and Sheila were hanging on for dear life as a stream of water wanted to push them down a steep slope. As the challenge progressed we learned that Sheila almost drowned in Hawaii several years ago and she had a deep fear of water. It wasn’t that apparent though until she finally let go some 36 minutes into the endurance challenge. Knowing that he had to get back onto Ryan’s good side, Adam gave up as well giving Ryan the first win of the three part HoH.
It was then down to Sheila and Adam to compete in the second part of the HoH. It was a very interesting one and one of the best the series has had. What they had to do was spin in a giant hamster wheel to maneuver several balls through a maze on the inside of the wheel. These balls had names of the previous HoHs on them and they had to then align them in the order people on Head of Household. Through the power of editing it made it seem as Adam and Sheila both performed equally well in the challenge, although Sheila did stumble a few times. In the end Adam pulled out a victory beating Sheila by half of her time. This mean that Adam and Ryan would compete in the live final part of the HoH.
Before the last HoH and eviction could occur we were shown a glimpse of the past as I mentioned last night. They showed Adam telling Ryan that Sharon was the better person to evict, showing that Ryan did in fact know that Sharon was leaving. They also showed Adam promising Sheila and Ryan that he would go to the end with them. It was interesting to see since Ryan entered only as Sheila left and Adam switched gears just as fast.
Next up was the jury house which I was very excited to see. I wanted to know what Matt and Natalie were doing and it seems they are back to their old ways. Natalie still seems to like him but Matty is on the defense and still treating her bad. He did say in the HoH that he wanted to treat her better but it doesn’t seem like he’s using his current chance in the jury house to do so. Sheila then came in and everyone was surprised. They then watched the DVD of the latest events and something interesting happened. As they watched Sharon walk out the door someone caught Ryan and Adam gesture to each other. At that point they realized the two had been working together and were very tight for a long time now. It also pointed out to Sharon that Ryan did in fact know she was going last night.
It was then time for the last HoH to occurr and it was rather obvious who would win. Adam basically threw it to Ryan, knowing Ryan would take him. Although at some points it seemed as if Adam could have won, since he mistakenly chose the right answer, Ryan pulled through with a single point to take the last HoH. He then had to evict either Adam or Sheila and took the obvious route of sending Sheila packing. This then led into a string of tear drawn answers to Julie’s questions. Although Sheila does seem upset she should have realized that Ryan would have taken Adam. She even told Adam that Ryan would never take her so I’m not exactly sure where the tears came from. In the end Adam and Ryan are the final two that could have been predicted since Natalie left the game. One of them will take home the $500,000 and the other will soon learn he’s out of the job thanks to a comment he made that CBS exposed.
It seemed like on tonight’s episode the BB9 editors felt like emptying out their “filler” closest into one episode as that’s really all it was. It began with about a 10 minute recap of the entire season then another 10 minute recap of Wednesday’s live eviction episode. I’m getting tired of all these recaps but I doubt CBS will listen so I’ll just get it out once and never complain about it again.
With the couples split they let us know that James and Chelsia weren’t as close as they once were. I don’t think this is actually the case if you watch the feeds since they seem to be acting normal and not as distant as they show. They also showed Matty and Natalie and their differences in what type of relationships they have. It really seemed like Natalie has gone all stalker-ish and unlike the last story line I think this one may not be editor induced. Some other filler stuff we had were Joshuah randomly dancing in what seemed like what would be a YouTube clip and Natalie letting us know her wide wisdom of there being 27 letters since ‘and’ is apparently a letter. Her spelling lesson came at the perfect time since the food competition was all about it.
It a version of a BB5 food comp the houseguests had to spell out words of food using floating letters in a pool of chocolate. Hey it’s let getting a chocolate bath at the Hershey resort for free! When we all though Natalie would be the problem for the competition it ended up being Sheila. I think she can spell, I think, but she just couldn’t find letters. Even though they were sitting right in front of her face apparently. Natalie, Matt, James and Adam ended up winning food for themselves by a single point while Sheila, Chelsia, Sharon and Joshuah were all placed on slop. Let’s hope this time we don’t have anymore visits from the nurse or those crazy paramedics!
It then came down to the nomination ceremony and we saw the “bro alliance” decide that Sharon should go up for sure. I mean why Sharon, it really makes no sense? She’s quiet and kind of more ‘covered’ then the other girls so maybe that’s why. Chelsia ended up going up with Sharon as a pawn apparently since everyone else would go home against Sharon. We all know how the pawn deal works and here’s hoping the great ‘pawn goes whoops’ eviction happens once again since I know at least one person who would be very happy about that.
