Big Brother is known for its sudden change in power and tonight is no different. Following the Power of Veto ceremony both Steven and Dan realized that one of them would surely be going home. Both took a different approach to stay with Dan staying quiet and Steven pushing people to vote in his corner. Steven made the first move by asking one side of the house to keep him in the game. That side just happened to be the one aligned with Keesha and it almost seemed like they were swinging is way and could vote for Steven to stay. Dan, on the other hand, stood with Jessie and Michelle and told both of them to let him know if he should start campaigning.
It was obvious that the house was now divided into three sections. The first is Libra, April, Ollie and Keesha hanging on by a thread. They are act like they are tight but there are cracks that have formed as the three girls can’t stand each other. The other side is more solidified being Angie, Michelle, Memphis and Jessie. While outside Angie let Memphis know she can’t stand Libra and April and it’s obvious there is about to be a battle between the two groups. Last by not least are the floaters who really have no loyalty to anyone at the moment. Renny, Jerry and Dan as of now have no set alliance and could really be the swing vote for the rest of the game. Winning HoH for one of them would surely pull them to a side and I await that to happen.
When it came time for Julie to pop up she had a few interesting questions for the houseguests. I’m really liking the live shows this year as Julie is doing a great job and this time around the live audience added much more to the show. After bringing up the Jerry/Libra fight, Julie turned to Ollie and April who were visibly nervous about talking about their “romance”. If you’ve been following the feeds you would know they’ve gotten very “close” and I think the producers wanted some chatter on that. But to their dismay neither April or Ollie revealed their actions to the house or the world but they did hint at least!
The first family package was then shown as the Renny and Jessie fight was brought up again. Both of their families were asked about not only their loved ones but how they saw their enemy as well. Renny’s family were very happy for their mom and also very against Jessie. Renny’s son continuously called Jessie a weasel but Jessie’s mother disagreed. She felt her son was great on the show and much more then a body, like he always says. It was interesting to see how the families took sides and for once stuck with their loved ones in the house. In previous seasons we’ve seen family members turn against their loved ones but this year it is a nice change of pace!
After a quick chat with Jessie it was time for Dan and Steven to give their possible final words. Dan was rather quick and basically said Sharon’s famous words, that if it was his time to go it was his time to go. Steven took a completely different route though, like he’s promised all week, and pulled a more humorous “Chelsia”. He quoted some fun sayings from the house and basically told everyone to “suck it” but in a more funny way. It was good to see the houseguests have fun on eviction night rather then blast out of the house in anger like some have in the past. When all the votes were cast it was unanimous for Steven to leave the house with a 9 to 0 vote. Not even his good friend Keesha could throw him a pity vote and he was out the door.
For the HoH competition the houseguests were treated to some scare tactics as aliens appeared several times behind the mirrors. April, Renny and Jessie saw the crazy ET like creatures and seemed more in shock then scared. Of course it was just a rubber alien with a green light shining on it but still rather humorous. The HoH wasn’t based on the alien sightings though but rather what they “abducted”. Several things were removed from the house and it was the houseguests job to remember which room and which items were removed.
To begin the challenge were Dan and April who were chosen as random. Dan buzzed in first and with a correct guess knocked April out of the HoH and chose Libra and Renny to compete next. With a wrong answer Renny took herself out and allowed Libra to choose Memphis and Angie to compete for the third question. After getting the answer right Memphis knocked out Angie and chose Keesha and Michelle to compete. Michelle took herself out and Keesha chose Libra and Dan. Libra made it through again taking out Dan, giving Keesha and Memphis a shot at the next question. Getting her first question right, Keesha took Memphis out of the game and forced Ollie and Libra to compete. Libra continued her streak and took out Ollie, pitting the final challenge for the HoH between herself and Keesha. After getting her last question wrong, Libra handed over the HoH to Keesha. This should be a VERY interesting week since Keesha is on the fence with her current alliance. Will she turn on the girls and Ollie or will she do their dirty work? Stay tuned to find out!
The first live eviction of Big Brother 10 went off without a hitch having a few firsts for the new format of the show. Not only did the live audience return but the first ever socket puppet show was performed making it a fun yet dramatic episode. It all started off following the nomination of Brian following Jessie’s leave with the PoV. This meant either Brian or Renny would go with the most likely scenario being Brian. He immediately went up to Jerry to find out what happened and learned that Ollie jumped ship. Jerry told him that Ollie was the one who brought everyone up to the room and Brian was NOT happy about that.
That night Brian pulled his “bro” Dan and “ex-bro” Ollie into his sofa, which he’s spent countless hours on on the feeds, and got down to business. He asked Ollie what went down and he basically told him that it was more a house decision rather then his which is kind of a lie. Dan didn’t take too well to that as he realizes he’ll have a hard time lieing in the house because of his morals. I for see Dan going soon, thanks to Ollie, as they are now the battling bible boys.
With Ollie now the leader it seems that April isn’t too mad at him anymore. She easily kissed him and even asked him for it. Both said they are just playing the other so it will be interesting to see who turns on the other first. April wasn’t only with Ollie though as her and the two girls, Libra and Keesha, realized they will be seen as a target. Brian saw that as well and wanted to turn the two on each other. He used Angie to do so and that little event ended up with another meltdown right before the votes were to be cast.
Knowing he was probably going home Brian came up with a rather interesting scheme to stay. He wanted people to realize he’s fun in the house and vote for him to stay for that reason. The now famous puppet show was then shown and seemed more boring on TV then it was in real life. I’m not sure why they edited it the way they did, leaving out most of the good parts, and a laugh track from the live audience would have been nice as well. Following the puppet show it seemed that Brian’s plan worked. Steven and Angie both said they felt Brian leaving would remove some fun from the house and this put Angie to work. She told Keesha that there was a possibility that Brian could stay if she voted for him. Little did Angie know, April was watching a few feet away and later that night let everyone know that Keesha was playing both sides.
Outside by the pool table, where most of the fights seem to begin, April was talking to Ollie and a few other guys about how Keesha was jumping ship to be with Angie. Keesha knew what was going on and didn’t take it too lightly. April then sprang up and moved towards Keesha but was held back by Ollie and pulled into the house. After doing so she told Renny she may be going and hated that Keesha switched on them. Outside Keesha was letting loose about April. Swearing left and right and saying how she couldn’t stand to be around her. Everyone saw the fight and I’m glad that CBS included it even though it happened last night. It’s a big deal and could possibly change the direction of the game.
Following the fight we went live to chat with the house. Julie told to Jessie first who said that he still doesn’t like Renny has she shows him no respect. Renny then said the same thing and told Jessie, once again, that he has some growing up to do and he should do what he says. Libra was the only other house guest to talk to Julie and she was asked a rather interesting question. It was about her leaving her five month old kids to be in the house. Libra told America that they don’t know her situation and she’s doing it for her family. She’s reminding me more and more of Daniele every day. Up in his HoH bedroom Jerry talked openly to Julie. He told her about how his military background will play into the game and how he was forced to put Brian up. Nothing much else came from that so it was time for the eviciton.
I’m surprised they did a live vote but the did and it turned out rather well. Both Renny and Brian asked to stay yet we all knew who was going. Once all the votes were cast Brian was sent packing by a vote of 9 to 1. Only Dan voted to keep him in and Brian exited the house to a live audience. It seemed thrilling to see the audience react to his leave but to be honest the live audience didn’t add much else other then clapping. When he talked to Julie, Brian seemed in good spirits. He says that Memphis will be the winner if he plays his cards right so we shall see!
For the first real HoH was had a familiar beginning challenge. Everyone was asked a question where two of the houseguests would be a possible answer. Everyone would then choose one and the people who were in the minority would be removed from the challenge. In the end four people remained: Libra, Ollie, Jessie and Steven. They were asked how many pillows were on the bed in the start of the Power of Veto challenge and Jessie came closest without going over. Making him the official challenge threat of the game as he’s won the only two they’ve had so far.
