Although James won’t be visiting Ponderosa just yet thanks to his hospital stay Alexis has and she brought some drama with her. Its no surprise that Ozzy isn’t too happy with her as is Jason. Alexis plows into Ponderosa claiming to have never lied and thinks she played an amazing game. Eliza doesn’t like that too well and let’s us know that. In the other two videos we see some perks about living in Ponderosa as it seems somewhat worth it to “drop” out of the game to enjoy the benefits of the jury house.
With the game of Big Brother 9 down to its final two it was time to crown the winner of the $500,000. It has been the series first winter series and broke new ground with twists galore. By starting with pairs for the first time ever to three players returning the game was different then ever before. Some loved it while others hated it but you must admit it was nice having a double, and now triple, dose of Big Brother in only a year.
The crowning of the winner had to start somewhere and that was with Sheila joining the jury house. Everyone seemed to think it would be her and were even talking about her as she walked through the doors. She seemed very upset with Adam at the time as she realized he threw the last challenge to make sure Ryan won and took him to the end. The rest of the jury seemed somewhat split as at times they favored Ryan and other times they favored Adam. Natalie, James and Chelsia seemed to take the idea that Adam was the better player, Joshuah, Sharon and Sheila seemed to fight for Ryan to win. Matty was the only one not going either way with who he wanted to win since he was friends with both.
It was then time for the questioning to begin and it once again seemed split. Ryan took the first heat as he told everyone that he would give Jen some money if he won. Everyone didn’t like that comment too much considering Adam said he would surely give $100,000 to open an after school program for kids. A followup question to that was from Chelsia who asked Ryan if he still loves Jen. He told her yes and the reasons why but Chelsia didn’t seemed to like that answer. I knew his relationship with Jen would hurt Ryan in the finals but some seem to be basing their vote simply on that. Adam then started to take some heat, especially from Sheila and Joshuah. Sheila tore into Adam as she felt he didn’t give her credit for him getting to the finals. She also felt Adam lied to her in the house throughout the game. I still don’t know if Sheila was just continuing her “act fighting” with Adam or if this was truly how she felt. Joshuah, on the other hand, tore into Adam as being not being a player. He didn’t agree with Adam throwing the competitions and also disliked the way Adam was “screaming at the screen”. In the end it still seemed unclear as to who would win and I’m still blown away by the vote.
With the votes then locked in Julie then told the jury members that one of them would be winning $25,000 thanks to a vote by America. They also had a few segments of talking with both jury and non-jury along with a few video clips. The first was a small discussion with Natalie and Matt and how they felt about each other. Julie told Natalie she may be in for some surprises when watching the show. This led to Matty apologizing to Natalie for anything she may hear before she even hears them. Next up was the feud between Jen and Allison which still seems to hold. Jen let loose and let everyone know she disliked Allison’s words about her after she was evicted and her thoughts that she was better for Ryan then herself. Allison defended herself by saying she had no feelings for Ryan and doesn’t feel the same for Jen now that she did in the house. The next few clips showed Ryan that Adam did in fact tell Natalie how he voted and also showed Joshuah’s fake tears that convinced Adam. I’m not sure why they squeezed these two clips in as talking to the other jury or non-jury members would have been more exciting.
After that small boredom it was time to crown the winner. Matt’s vote was up first which was for Adam along with Natalie’s who was also for Adam. With two votes for Adam it was Joshuah up next. He voted vote Ryan making it 2-1. Sharon was up next and surprisingly voted opposite of Joshuah which was for Adam making it 3-1. Sheila’s vote was next and it was like fate that her key gave Adam the win. With four votes there was no way Ryan could catch up and Adam leapt into the air, knowing he won the game and half a million dollars. After some time the two finally walked out of the house and all the houseguests waiting outside rushed the door. It was a great feeling to see them finally excited for someone to win the game as it came to a close.
But before we could leave Big Brother world until the summer it was time to give away America’s Favorite Jury money. It was pretty obvious who would get it as people somehow fell in love with James and he was in fact the winner. Sheila came in second which should give her some joy as I feel she did deserve the money as much or not more then James. In my final post for BB9 I’d like to say it was a great season to cover as there was continuous drama and random things that happened this season that will probably never happen again. Although it may not have been the best it did bring some enjoyment to our winter and hopefully even more this summer as BB10 returns on July 13th! Make sure to check back often for any after the show BB9 updates and BB10 news as it comes in!
With four players left it was time for Big Brother 9 to finally get down to its final three. Last time Ryan won a very controversial HoH and placed both Sheila and Sharon on the block. Sheila didn’t take this nomination so well simply because she was on the block. Does she forget Sharon has been nominated five weeks in a row? I’m not sure why Sheila was scared since her and Adam have been close the entire game but it seems like she doesn’t remember that.
Although it was somewhat agreed that Sharon would go from the get-go Ryan, thanks to Sharon, was worried that Adam may take Sheila to the end. This made Ryan think that Sharon would stay, since they had a secret alliance, and he would basically be taken to the end by both Sharon or Adam. With this thought in his mind Ryan went to Adam and asked him to evict Sheila, his ex-partner, keeping Sharon in the game. Adam seemed to go along with this idea but also said he’d say anything to simply make it to the final two.
Before the Power of Veto could occur it was time to chain Adam and Sheila together. It was a very humorous segment to see the two bicker with each other. It seems as though they act the part very well as we all know they are very close to each other. Its almost like the “All in the Family” couple where they always fought and bickered yet loved each other in the end. Although I don’t think Sheila or Adam really “love” each other, they are closer then ever and could just go to the final two.
It was then time for the PoV where the houseguests had to match pictures of the jury members and two statements about that person. In the beginning Sheila took a very surprising lead but Ryan caught up to her. It was then a battle between those two on who would win the very last veto. Ryan ended up claiming victory and called himself the “power whore”. He really is as he’s won a ton of challenge lately and although he came in not knowing much about the game, he sure has proven himself worthy of a win simply due to his challenge skills.
Knowing that nobody was really safe now something very odd happened. Adam asked Sharon for a deal that if she promised to take him to the final two that he would keep her. She kind of freaked out and wouldn’t let him know either way. This small gesture then set off a chain of events. Sharon quickly went to Ryan and let him know what Adam had just done. He was very angry and believed at that point that Adam was closer to Sheila then he thought. When Sharon left Adam then went up to the HoH room and lied his ass off to Ryan. He told Ryan that Sharon was the one to ask for the deal and even said it seemed like Sharon had a deal with Ryan simply from that “gesture”. This then sent Adam and Ryan into a yelling match which made it seem like the veto could possibly be used.
It was then time for the veto ceremony and eviction to occur. Ryan was asked to do the veto “live” right in front of Julie although it wasn’t live for us. He chose to not use it and it was assumed he thought Sheila would go. Adam then had to vote for either Sharon or Sheila to be evicted. He chose to evict Sharon, after five nominations, to leave the game once again. Although Ryan acted shocked he was in fact in the loop that Sharon would be evicted. It wasn’t shown on the show but they agreed that Sharon should go shorty before the show was taped.
After Sharon’s short talk with Julie it was then time for the HoH to begin. The players all sat on a boogie-board and had to hold onto a rope. They were then raised to a slop where water began pouring down on them from the slop and as rain. The last person hanging on would win the first part of the three part HoH and automatically move to the last round of the HoH. Although the show was shown tonight we already know who won the first and second part of the HoH. To find out highlight the following: Ryan won the 1st part of the HOH and Adam won the 2nd part of the HoH.
Tonight the twists that made the first season of Paradise Hotel so insane returned. Not only did the casino reward return but the double elimination returned as well. Since we are down to the final hotel guests they have to start leaving more often and that means more twists to come. Tonight was no different as we started off by taking a look at the two sides.
It seems like right now the new people alliance is somewhat falling apart. With Zack now in the game it seems like he wants to sway Chris to his side and with him both Stephanie and TD. Although this is the case it seems that Chris wants Aaron to stay in the loop as well even though Zack does not want Chris in his “clique”. It’s interesting to see how Zack kind of ripped the newbies alliances part by simply telling Chris he wants to work with him. It’s almost like Chris wanted to drop Aaron for awhile now and Zack just gave him that chance.
Myrna was another one who was kind of on the outs of both alliances. She’s liked by all the guys but none of them really want her in the game. Zack believes she’ll just hurt the new guys while the OG’s just want her out for getting Tanya out last round. Myrna wasn’t shown too much this episode other then explaining flashing back to her fights with both Zack and Aaron.
On the originals side it was more of last weeks James and Lauren drama. Nobody from the originals caused any drama this week other then Lauren who everyone now believes is playing all the guys. James and Zack mentioned it at different times how Lauren is trying to get all the guys to like her in order to be safe on all accounts. Little did she know the one guy who she didn’t try to as Amanda would say “cozy up to” would be the one who send her out of Paradise.
It was then time for another envelope to appear and it was to announce the return of the Paradise Hotel Casino. If I remember correctly the casino caused tons of drama last season so I was excited that they brought it back. A game of poker with a “special prize” at the end was played with James taking a win over Zack. Amanda then appeared to let everyone know that she would announce what his prize was at the next elimination, which just happened to be right then and there.
Everyone was then sent down to the pool where the next elimination was to occur. The guys outnumbered the girls this week so that meant one of them would be going home. With his win of the poker tournament, James was told he was safe and was also given first pick. He quickly went to TD and every one’s mouths dropped as they knew this would screw over the newbie alliance. They had it all planned out who would go to who, but with James having immunity and him going to TD everything was very screwed up.
Zack was then up and if he was smart he would have went to either Lauren or Krista since this would have surely sent one of the OGs home. Instead he went to Stephanie, ensuring that either Chris or Aaron would leave. Ryan was up next and went to Lauren as normal while Chris went to Myrna. Mike was next up and went to the only remaining original girl who was open and that was Krista. Aaron was last and was obviously upset. He knew that Chris had made a deal with Zack then and it hit him hard. He walked over to Myrna and probably knew she would send him home.
Amanda then shocked us with another twist to the game as James was allowed to choose who would go home between Aaron and Chris. Usually Myrna would have done this as she was the one with the two guys who chose her. She was going to keep Chris in the game but James had other plans. He quickly told Chris that his time in paradise was over, saving Aaron who thought he was a goner. Chris was then told that he wasn’t leaving empty handed and was allowed to choose a girl to also take out of the running for the grand prize. It was between Myrna, Lauren and Krista. He would have never chose Myrna as she was going to keep him in the game and stuck to his guns to take Lauren out. With this sudden move and the several twists, both sides are down by one. Next week it seems that more twists await as Raheim, the seasons troublemaker, returns for some reason. Amanda did say that Zack would be the last “new” person entering paradise so technically Raheim could return as he is in fact not new to the season. Who knows what “twists” will come from next week but I’m sure it will be just as dramatic as tonight was.
After over 60 days in the house, Sheila has finally won her first challenge and first taste of power. On last Wednesday we were left with the houseguests dangling in their “torture chambers” as they vied for HoH. Sharon was the first to drop out, citing that she hurt her back the night before. For some reason I think Sharon throws a bunch of these challenges. She knows she’ll go up but seeing her streak, she also stays each and every time. After about two hours the deal making began. Sheila wanted the HoH badly but Natalie and Ryan knew they to be safe. Sheila told Ryan fairly early that she wouldn’t put him up since he saved her, but Natalie was a different story. Natalie was worried Sheila would put her up so Sheila promised her she wouldn’t be nominated. When Adam and Sharon returned outside Ryan quickly dropped. This mean Natalie should have dropped to give Sheila the win. But Natalie took her good old time, saying she couldn’t do it since she wasn’t a quitter.
After about 30 minutes of Natalie wavering back and forth and asking “what would Jesus do”, she dropped down giving Sheila the win. I’m happy for Sheila as she has been playing an interesting game and could possibly win. It was obvious who she would put up, Adam and Sharon, so they spent the rest of the episode promoting the “Natalie has lied to everyone” bit. It was all about Natalie and her lies and basicially securing the votes for her to go. The plan is for Adam to come off the block and Natalie going up and out. Although that was the center of the show, Sheila’s HoH room played a huge one as well. She was the only one to not see her family since the show began so it was nice to see her react to that. All in all it was a pretty good episode. Will the plan to get Natalie out work? Find out next Wednesday when I’ll tell you!
For years we have been asking for insider video to Survivor’s “booted castaways” beach and FNIALLY they have given in and offered us “Ponderosa”. Each and every season Survivor jury members get kicked off the island and into Ponderosa. This new location is their holding place as the game continues and they wait to vote for a winner. On CBS.com they are now posting videos that are following the lives of the jury members living on Ponderosa Beach. So far there are two videos, showcasing only Eliza and they are actually very interesting! It gives us a nice look at what the Survivors do when leaving the game. I’ll post the two videos below but you can keep track of new ones by going to http://cbs.com/ponderosa.
