CBS, Greatest American Dog
1 Comment
Is it kind of sad that the two judges have fought more on The Greatest American Dog then the actual contestants on the show? Before we get to that though let’s talk about the rest of the show. Following the arguement between Beth Joy and Laura, Travis was the man of the hour. He stood up for Beth Joy when his gal pal Laura put her down and Beth Joy loved him for it. Her dog Bella Starlet did not share the love though as the next morning she nipped at Travis, upsetting Beth Joy. She cried and cried about how her dog isn’t mean and how she never does this. Travis once again was there to comfort Beth Joy and let her know its only because she’s stressed. I don’t think he understands this is a game, Beth Joy freaking out like that is GOOD for him.
Before the Dog Bone challenge the gang was having a discussion about techniques used to train their dogs. Laurie and JD seemed to disagree a bit as Laurie felt more kinder and rewarding techniques were better then “medieval” and harsher techniques that JD uses. JD stood up for how he trains his dogs though and it does show as Galaxy is one of the best in the competition but Laurie also stood her ground, stating that she’d always take her dog Andrew over Galaxy any day.
At the Dog Bone competition it was all about teamwork. The six were split into three teams of two being Bill/Travis, Beth Joy/Teresa and feuding rivals Laurie/JD. What the pairs had to do was have one person controlling the dogs and the other laying in a box under a giant digging zone. The first dog would have to ring a bell, followed by the other dog digging for a rope and pulling it. Laurie and JD were up first with JD in the box since Laurie didn’t want JD using his aggressive techniques on poor little Andrew. They worked well together as Laurie controlled her own dog plus Galaxy in a very quick time of 1.45 minutes.
The next team to go was Bill and Travis. With Travis in the box, Bill had Star easily hit the bell and had Presley rushing up the path to dig for Travis. After a small error of Presley running away, the digging was well on its way and Travis was quickly released in a winning time of 1.35 seconds. Although we know Travis and Bill won we still have to look at Beth Joy and Teresa who did horribly. The reason they lost was because Bella Starlet barked rather then digging since Beth Joy was in the box. Teresa had no control over Bella and since she snapped earlier she was too scared to try.
When it came time to reveal the winner Bill and Travis were surprised that they would also win a call from home. Travis talked to his mother and was almost in tears the entire time while Bill held it together until the very end. He has been missing his family for awhile now and it was nice to see the two outside the element of the game. They also got a great leg up for the Best in Show challenge as they got to acclimate their dogs to golden retriever puppies. Presley took to them easily, being a puppy himself but Star had some trouble since she was scared to death of the dogs! Although the two knew the twist to the challenge they didn’t tell any of the others, making them a bit upset and wary of how truthful they really are.
At the Best in Show it was all about moving the dogs, and the puppies in tow, through a maze. Teresa with Leroy did the best out of everyone, getting the puppies through the maze on the first try. Leroy did so well, waiting for the puppies and all, that the judges granted him and Teresa Best in Show. The other two who were safe were Laurie with Andrew and JD and Galaxy. Although Andrew only led one puppy through the maze, the judges loved Laurie’s coaxing and realized she did a great job overall. JD did most of the work for Galaxy, forcing her to stop every so often, which led all three puppies through but caused a rift in the two female judges. The younger female judge was happy for JD since he did so well but the older female judge hated his techniques. This left the two basically in the middle of a cat fight right in front of the cameras! It was crazy to see the two go at it but they quickly resolved their differences after the commercial break. If only every fight could end that way!
Back in the Best in Show arena it was time to name the bottom three. The judges put Travis and Presley there for not moving any of the three puppies through and Presley being too hyper and fast to even try. Bill and Star were in the bottom for their first time and there is a good reason. During the third run through, Star sat down as if to say “I’m done” but Bill kept pushing her and pushing her. The judges felt it was too much for Star and Bill just wouldn’t give in. Last but not least is Beth Joy and Bella Starlet who didn’t make it to the end of the maze once and moved no puppies through. The judges felt Bella didn’t care about the puppies but rather just about getting out. The pair has had a hard journey throughout the show and it was only a matter of time before they left. I’m glad Beth Joy left on a high note, for once, and she will be missed as she added a bit of crazy to the show!

It was a rather slow night for Big Brother 10 but that didn’t mean it would be fight-less! Following the nominations the two nominees, Libra and Keesha, filled us in that they already knew they would be up. Dan thought he would go up and was happy to be safe and Jerry dropped a small bomb, saying the only way Dan could justify voting out Jessie is if he was America’s Player. Whoops! That was the case. I bet Jerry will regret all the “Judas” talk when he gets out of the house.
In the Hippy Room Libra and Keesha rallied their troops: Dan and Renny and let them know that everything was ok. Neither of the girls wanted to campaign but agreed that April had to leave. They believe she’s the reason they are being targeted and both promised to get her out if they stayed. In the HoH room Keesha talked a bit with Michelle where she did some Libra bashing. Michelle thought Libra was the one who rallied for Jessie go to but in reality it was Keesha. Following their chat the Power of Veto players were selected. Playing with Michelle, Libra and Keesha would be Memphis, Jerry and April. Not looking too good for the two nominees now is it?
Knowing he was in the PoV Jerry realized he could have some power. He wanted Michelle to put Dan up on the block since he wants him out so badly and Michelle seemed to agree. April, on the other hand, wanted Libra out badly and was happy she didn’t have to be “fake” to them anymore. She’s FINALLY admitting to being fake!
The night before the PoV Dan and Memphis decided to give Renny, Libra and Keesha their own wake up call. They put on masks and busted into their bedroom. At first they screamed but it quickly turned to laughter. Little did they know the PoV wouldn’t be so much fun as it would actually make them cry! What they had to do was chop onions and put them in a box. The person with the most onions, in pounds, would win the Power of Veto. They could also go for a reward if they didn’t want to win the Veto.
When it all came down to it, Memphis and April won the mystery prizes. Memphis chose the first envelope and won a dud: an onion necklace. April, in return, won five designer outfits which would turn up a little later. It was then down to the winner of the PoV and it once again came down to Jerry and Libra. One needed the power to stay while the other needed it to possibly change up the game. After weighing both of their onions, Jerry had about 5 pounds more, giving him his second Power of Veto. Could Jerry be the new Veto King?
Since he actually did win the PoV Jerry wanted to put his plan in motion to put Dan on the block. Michelle wasn’t too thrilled this time around but told Jerry to do what he wanted. Later that night the houseguests were treated to a feast, thanks to the food competition. It started off nice as each player said something nice about or to the group. During the “we love yous” Keesha mentioned how she feels her and April could make up, and jokingly said April should share her designer dresses. Libra then made a comment saying that’s the only reason Keesha was being nice to April, I’ll get back to that a little later.
Libra wasn’t done there as she pulled Ollie to the side. Earlier he called her a scallywag and a ho and she was upset. Ollie told her that he was sorry and Libra pulled a crucial move by telling Ollie that Keesha was the one who got the votes for Jessie to go. Upstairs in the HoH Michelle told Keesha about Libra’s “only for the outfits” statement. Keesha wasn’t too happy about it so Michelle pulled April and Libra into the mix. The four girls, once again, fought it out. Each yelled out the other three at least once and it all ended with Keesha leaving the room. That didn’t sit well with Michelle who followed out the room, only to fight a little bit more.
Although the fight went down the night before between the girls, Jerry was the one with the power. Although he didn’t use the PoV he did create a stir with his “anti-Dan” statements and calling him Judas. Nobody liked the fact that Jerry called it “his house” and used his time to bash someone else and their religion. Thursday night should be a fun one as the two girls still have some time to cry for votes. Who will be the one sent packing and how will the power shift again? See you on Thursday!

On the last Big Brother 10 Steven was evicted with best friend Keesha getting the HoH. I was right in my prediction that Keesha was seek revenge for Steven’s leave and oh did she ever. As we witnessed a recap of Steven walking out the door several houseguests gave their opinion of the eviction. Libra and Jessie both showed signs of happiness as their plan played out to the tee. On the other side of the fence were Angie and more notably Keesha. Both shared remorse for evicting a friend, that’s about all they have in common. The one interesting comment was made by Dan who continued his “weak player” scheme. I wasn’t happy to see Steven go but realized how well his strategy played out that he didn’t even receive a single vote.
Another recap was in store and this time it was for Keesha’s HoH win. Libra and April both jumped for joy when they realized “their girl” was in power. It’s obvious they get closer to Keesha when she can put them on the block, even though last week they secretly doubted her. Jessie and Renny were also happy for Keesha’s win but for different reasons. Jessie felt he could sway Keesha in any way he wanted while Renny was genuinely happy for her as they seemed to have formed a mother/daughter bond. The bond was so close, and became closer, after Keesha saw her HoH bedroom. Renny was the only one allowed to stay to read Keesha’s letter and the two shared a touching moment.
Sadly that moment didn’t last long as April, Libra and Ollie pounced on Keesha the first chance they got. They wanted to assure that Keesha was still part of the foursome and I think Keesha realized why they were being so nice. Although she may not fully trust them, Keesha realized she needed those four. When she told them she wouldn’t do what the house wanted they seemed to be ok with it. Keesha seemed to take the power to her head at times be saying how she held all the decisions in the house. Of course she does but making it that obvious is kind of risky in my opinion. One of the more interesting moves she made though was talking to Dan and letting him know he was safe. They didn’t really talk much before Keesha got HoH but as of now it seems they could have some sort of side deal going on.
In a move similar to Jessie last week, Keesha got cocky and decided to tell Memphis that Angie, his best friend, is going up. I was shocked she did this while Libra and April were in the room but it was her move to make. Memphis, being the good puppet he is, went and told Michelle, Jessie and Angie what Keesha’s plan was. They immediately realized that the plan to oust Dan, Renny or Jerry was out the door and made a plan to get Libra up instead. Although none of the four acted on it right away the time was about to come.
Before the food competition we were shown a few clips of Michelle being her Portuguese self. She proclaimed her love for pig everything and even told us a story about how a guy danced around with a dead pig. Little did she know she would inspire a food luxury for the next challenge which was 50s themed. In the backyard the group finally competed for a slop-free week. With the girls and guys split behind a wall, they were paired up to match socks of all things. Each round one guy and one “doll” would go onto a rotating record which housed a basket of socks. Each round the teams had to scream across the wall in hope of matching a sock with their partner. After matching they would hang the pair of socks on a number which corresponded to a random food item for the week. In the end Renny was the coo-koo of the competition, go figure, and was the only one to miss a pair with her partner Dan. The only interesting food they got for the week was pigs feet, which only Michelle celebrated for.
Following the food competition Ollie and April’s showmance was showed in a VERY PG version. They didn’t show any of the *cough* but did show them talking about love and how it correlates to road signs. While the two love birds got closer, Jessie took it upon himself to try and get his nominations for the week into the mind of Keesha. He knew Angie was going up, which Keesha told him straight out, but didn’t want that to happen. He had a very good reason too and that was getting Libra out. One thing of interest is Jessie’s new attempt for Libra going. Last week when he had the chance to do so he was too scared to make that move yet now he wants Keesha to do it for him. I’m not sure WHY she could put Libra up, knowing how close they are, so Jessie’s plan backfired right into his face.
At the nomination ceremony Keesha made it very clear that her nominations were personal. After having Michelle’s key pulled last, it was revealed that Jessie and Angie were nominated for eviction. Keesha said that Angie caused the fight a few weeks back between Keesha and April and didn’t give Steven any backup when he was on the block. Her reason for Jessie going was two things: 1) He put Steven up and he went and 2) She sees him as a threat. Overall Keesha had good reasons to put both Angie and Jessie up, even if they don’t see it that way. With that said and down, Tuesday’s episode should showcase two huge fights in the house along with the Power of Veto winner. Plus the eviction episodes now move to Thursday nights at 8pm where they belong! So stay tuned for that and more.

Big Brother is known for its sudden change in power and tonight is no different. Following the Power of Veto ceremony both Steven and Dan realized that one of them would surely be going home. Both took a different approach to stay with Dan staying quiet and Steven pushing people to vote in his corner. Steven made the first move by asking one side of the house to keep him in the game. That side just happened to be the one aligned with Keesha and it almost seemed like they were swinging is way and could vote for Steven to stay. Dan, on the other hand, stood with Jessie and Michelle and told both of them to let him know if he should start campaigning.
It was obvious that the house was now divided into three sections. The first is Libra, April, Ollie and Keesha hanging on by a thread. They are act like they are tight but there are cracks that have formed as the three girls can’t stand each other. The other side is more solidified being Angie, Michelle, Memphis and Jessie. While outside Angie let Memphis know she can’t stand Libra and April and it’s obvious there is about to be a battle between the two groups. Last by not least are the floaters who really have no loyalty to anyone at the moment. Renny, Jerry and Dan as of now have no set alliance and could really be the swing vote for the rest of the game. Winning HoH for one of them would surely pull them to a side and I await that to happen.
When it came time for Julie to pop up she had a few interesting questions for the houseguests. I’m really liking the live shows this year as Julie is doing a great job and this time around the live audience added much more to the show. After bringing up the Jerry/Libra fight, Julie turned to Ollie and April who were visibly nervous about talking about their “romance”. If you’ve been following the feeds you would know they’ve gotten very “close” and I think the producers wanted some chatter on that. But to their dismay neither April or Ollie revealed their actions to the house or the world but they did hint at least!
The first family package was then shown as the Renny and Jessie fight was brought up again. Both of their families were asked about not only their loved ones but how they saw their enemy as well. Renny’s family were very happy for their mom and also very against Jessie. Renny’s son continuously called Jessie a weasel but Jessie’s mother disagreed. She felt her son was great on the show and much more then a body, like he always says. It was interesting to see how the families took sides and for once stuck with their loved ones in the house. In previous seasons we’ve seen family members turn against their loved ones but this year it is a nice change of pace!
After a quick chat with Jessie it was time for Dan and Steven to give their possible final words. Dan was rather quick and basically said Sharon’s famous words, that if it was his time to go it was his time to go. Steven took a completely different route though, like he’s promised all week, and pulled a more humorous “Chelsia”. He quoted some fun sayings from the house and basically told everyone to “suck it” but in a more funny way. It was good to see the houseguests have fun on eviction night rather then blast out of the house in anger like some have in the past. When all the votes were cast it was unanimous for Steven to leave the house with a 9 to 0 vote. Not even his good friend Keesha could throw him a pity vote and he was out the door.
For the HoH competition the houseguests were treated to some scare tactics as aliens appeared several times behind the mirrors. April, Renny and Jessie saw the crazy ET like creatures and seemed more in shock then scared. Of course it was just a rubber alien with a green light shining on it but still rather humorous. The HoH wasn’t based on the alien sightings though but rather what they “abducted”. Several things were removed from the house and it was the houseguests job to remember which room and which items were removed.
To begin the challenge were Dan and April who were chosen as random. Dan buzzed in first and with a correct guess knocked April out of the HoH and chose Libra and Renny to compete next. With a wrong answer Renny took herself out and allowed Libra to choose Memphis and Angie to compete for the third question. After getting the answer right Memphis knocked out Angie and chose Keesha and Michelle to compete. Michelle took herself out and Keesha chose Libra and Dan. Libra made it through again taking out Dan, giving Keesha and Memphis a shot at the next question. Getting her first question right, Keesha took Memphis out of the game and forced Ollie and Libra to compete. Libra continued her streak and took out Ollie, pitting the final challenge for the HoH between herself and Keesha. After getting her last question wrong, Libra handed over the HoH to Keesha. This should be a VERY interesting week since Keesha is on the fence with her current alliance. Will she turn on the girls and Ollie or will she do their dirty work? Stay tuned to find out!

Last time on Big Brother 10 Brian’s two boys Dan and Steven were nominated. On the latest episode we see not only the aftermath of the nominations but the aftermath of the food competition as well. Immediately after the nominations were made Dan asked Jessie to talk up in the HoH bedroom. There they agreed on why Dan went up and both still feel that they should stick together if Dan does stay. On the other end Steven does have supporters even if they are scared to say they are. Angie and Keesha came to his side to let him know that he can still stay in the game and both seemed like they would veto him if they won.
Following the chat between Steven and Angie we finally got to see the birth of the current alliance ruling both the HoH and the veto. While Jessie and Michelle flirted, Memphis came up with a plan to secure Jessie and himself two more players for their group. They both decided that Michelle and Angie should join their alliance, giving them a core of four. Of course this happened awhile ago but CBS is just beginning to let is unravel.
Steven’s trial to stay is an interesting one as he’s playing somewhat of a Brian role in opposite. He’s trying to get people upset for him leaving and tried to find friends that would fall into his “poor me” trap. First up was Renny who he used the Hurricane Katrina bond with. They both talked about what they went through and although it may not have secured a vote with Renny it surely didn’t hurt. Next up was Keesha who flat out said that she didn’t want Steven to go. Thanks to that she told him that if she did win the veto that she would take him off, something she would deny a little later.
When it finally did come time for the Power of Veto choosing the six who were competing were Jessie, Michelle, Dan, Libra, Steven and of course Keesha. Before the challenge began Keesha let is slip to her gal pals that she would probably veto Steven if she won the PoV. Michelle was in the room when that went down and she immediately went to Memphis and Jessie to let them know. This turned the group against Keesha and it almost seemed like if the veto was used Keesha could go up. Although Michelle pushed the issue Libra would get the blame a little later.
For the Power of Veto the six players had to decipher Big Brother phrases spelled out in license plate slang. If they got the phrase right they would gain whatever points it was worth, if they were wrong they would be out of the challenge. During the first phrase given both Dan and Jessie were taken out for wrong answers. Keesha finally scooped up the correct answering, giving her a quick 10 points. For the next phrase Steven buzzed in early and took himself out, taking the two nominees and the HoH out. Michelle then answered correctly, tying it up with Keesha. For the third phrase the three girls weren’t playing for points but rather a slop pass. If they did take the pass they would be out of the competition and no longer able to win the veto. Although Libra and Keesha have been on slop for two weeks now, neither took the slop pass. This put a thought in Libra’s head that Keesha was in deed going to veto Steven if she won and that’s the reason she stayed in the game. For the fourth, and last, phrase both Libra and Keesha answered incorrectly which gave the last person standing, Michelle, the win of the veto.
Following the Power of Veto competition everyone started talking about Keesha wanting to veto Steven. When Libra, Steven and Keesha were in the 70s room together Keesha mentioned to Steven that she felt bad since she took his life away. Libra then went outside to let the others know what was said and Steven wasn’t too happy either. He didn’t want Keesha saying that in front of others and told her that Libra was saying things on the bench of the challenge about Keesha trying to save Steven. Keesha didn’t like what she was hearing so went out to confront Libra who denied saying anything at all. This turned Keesha against Libra who she called a “liar” and “shit starter” and ultimately would create the massive fight that went down between Libra, Renny and Jerry.
While Renny and Jerry were sitting in the sauna room, Keesha began bashing Libra. The two others agreed that Libra had to go and Renny let it slip that Libra wasn’t happy with having the two older people on her team for the food comp. Jerry didn’t like that too much and the next morning he let Libra have it. Although I said the last fight in the house between Keesha and April was bad this one was even worse. Libra went off as well as Jerry and Renny ended up joining the fray a little later. In the end it was one crazy fight over nothing really and made Libra look like the bad guy. In my eyes it was Keesha as she’s the one spreading the rumors about Libra. Guess that’s what happens when the houseguests can’t watch the feeds like we can!
Since he knew he was probably going Steven made a move to save himself by asking Jessie and Michelle to veto either himself or Dan. He wanted them to put Libra up in his place or Dan’s place since he felt that everyone would vote Libra out. I caught this entire conversation on the feeds the other day and have it posted at http://youtube.com/bigbrotherloop. If you want to see the unedited version then check it out, it gets rather interesting since they didn’t show Dan’s side of the conversation on the show at all.
When it was finally time for the Power of Veto ceremony we quickly learned that Michelle wasn’t using the veto. From the feeds we saw that she didn’t trust Steven’s word about people wanting Renny out and didn’t feel she had a reason to put her up in any way, shape or form. I’m not sure exactly how the vote will go tomorrow but I’m excited to see who wins the HoH. A shake up in the power would be nice and if the challenge goes the right way we could be in for another week of craziness!

After last weeks eviction of Brian I wasn’t sure how Jessie’s nominations would go down but tonight proved that being friends with Brian means you’re a huge threat apparently. Following his eviction several houseguests had some words to say. Dan, Angie and Steven were upset to see him go and feel their fun was taken away. Libra on the other hand was glad he was gone as she considered Brian her “biggest threat” while Jessie was glad he was gone as well. He also made a comment about his picture looking better in black or white. So original….. not.
At the diner table Jerry let everyone know what Julie and he talked about. He told them how she brought up him breaking his work with Brian even though he used his military word to say they were aligned. Nobody liked that, including Dan, who said that Jerry broke his word no matter what excuse he came up with. Renny then made a comment how he shouldn’t use his military in the game which caused a little tiff. Jerry let her know that she doesn’t listen and walked away before anything could come from it.
Following his win for the HoH Jessie let everyone know just how exciting he was. He was very cocky in the backyard after winning and made it obvious how the house split. Dan, Angie and Steven gathered on one side of the backyard while the others on another side. When they were finally back in Jessie and Memphis celebrated the win together, proving that they are aligned. They both then jumped up and down with Michelle while Angie walked in. Nobody was happy with how Jessie acted, especially the “We Love Brian” group.
Once again Libra wanted to sway the HoH and talked to April about getting Jessie to put Steven and Angie or Steven and Dan up. When Jessie got his key for his room everyone, besides Steven, went up to see it. Jessie had a ton of bodybuilding pictures in his room and hardly any of family or friends. I know he doesn’t decide what pictures to put but seriously, he doesn’t want people to see his body as a threat yet goes ga-ga over pictures of his body…… yeah. When everyone left Libra and her posse told Jessie that Steven and Dan had to go up. She used the fact that Steven didn’t come up to the room as a reason but Jessie wanted Renny up. They told him it would be a waste of a nomination but he still wanted her up. I’m not sure how they can use the “waste of a nomination” idea since if she is a waste now when won’t she be?
Before the food competition we were shown a few moments from within the house. First Jerry let both Angie and Libra know about his wife having parkinson’s. They both cried and he told the whole story how he worked out to make sure he could take care of her. Next up was Steven who was asked a few questions about being gay by Dan. The two seem to have been friends since moving in and Dan now realizes how much he is learning just from being in the house. Last but not least was a small moment with Jessie yelling at Angie for being friends with Brian. He told her that he can’t trust her since she was friends with the person who wanted their alliance out. It’s funny how they are bringing up an alliance (Jessie/Memphis/Angie/Michelle) that really wasn’t shown on the show but more on the feeds. Angie sat there and took it because she really had nothing to say for herself.
At the food competition everyone had to break into two teams. Libra and April weren’t happy with being on the “old people” team with Renny and Jerry. That will boil over in the next episode I’m sure and you can find out why if you search YouTube. For food the two teams had to battle it out to fill the most wine glasses in five minutes. There were three “jobs” for the teams which were throwing, filler and corker. For the green team Steven and Angie were the corkers and for the red team it was Jerry and Memphis. The throwers were Dan for green and April for red while the fillers were Renny, Libra, Keesha for red and Jessie, Michelle and Ollie. In the end both teams filled hardly any bottles as the green team won with one and a half full. The challenge caused some drama though on the red team as Libra and April went at it since April felt it was the fillers fault they lost. Libra let them know everyone worked as a team and it was the teams fault while Keesha chimed in how well Renny did. Like I said this fight will boil over on Tuesday so make sure to stay tuned!
Following the challenge Dan tried not once but twice to talk to Jessie. The first time failed as he tried to get Jessie alone in the HoH by asking to use his bathroom. Little did he know that Ollie would follow Jessie up to it looked bad on his part actually. The second time he finally got him alone and the two talked. Dan told Jessie that he would probably be going up but that he wouldn’t be upset about it. Jessie didn’t say too much but let him know that everything would be good. At the nomination ceremony Jessie still chose to put up Dan although he did say he felt he would be good to be aligned with. He put up Steven as well, who argued he was sleeping during the HoH room tour. Whatever he said wouldn’t change the nominations of Dan and Steven as only the Power of Veto can do that. Although we already know who won it and if it was used or not we find out officially on Tuesday. Check back then for the latest or you can find out now by checking out the feeds section of BigBrotherLoop.com.
