Dan Breaks His Losing Streak On Big Brother 10

Big Brother 10, CBS No Comments

Following the nomination of April and Jerry by Renny last Sunday I thought April would be fine while Jerry would go around screaming about it. The polar opposite seemed to happen though as Jerry was generally ok with being up on the block and April not so happy. She knew she was going up yet she acted so upset, it just doesn’t make any sense. Although she did claim it to be a “show” to look weak, I honestly think April realizes she’s probably going out the door come Thursday.

Half of Renny’s nominations were expected by her alliance but Dan, Keesha and Memphis didn’t understand why Ollie was not up on the block. All three feel she has some sort of alliance with Ollie now and don’t feel safe if the Power of Veto is used. While that group was confused Ollie and April were arguing. It was their “first fight” as a showmance and it’s all because Ollie didn’t comfort April enough. He wasn’t happy with how she was putting on a show but the fight quickly ended.

Downstairs in the 80’s/90’s room Jerry was showing his age. The guy was talking to himself! Seriously, he’s going even more crazy in there then I expected but I guess being the oldest guy can’t be easy. Still, he’s still annoying and probably the most crazy there right about now. When it was time to pick the Power of Veto players nobody, but April, wanted Ollie in the mix. Of course it didn’t go down that way though as Renny, April, Jerry, Dan, Keesha and Ollie were selected to play in the PoV.  Following the picking, Ollie and April ran to the sauna room to celebrate. They were acting as if one of them already won the veto but little did they know fate was not in their corner.

For the Power of Veto competition everyone was shocked by the transformation of the backyard. It was decked out with Halloween type props, including a python, voodoo dolls of all eight of them, crows to scare Ollie and a witch like Michelle. The point of the competition was to guess how many items were in the backyard or how long an item was. The person who stayed in the game and was furthest from the exact number was eliminated. Once someone got 3 points they would win the Power of Veto.

The first item was the length of the python. Jerry ended up winning the point and Renny was kicked out of the challenge. The second question was asking how many pins were in all the voodoo dolls. Once again Jerry gained the point and this time April was eliminated. Third up were the cockroaches, the one item they could not see but rather had to feel to see how many were there. Since she didn’t touch them, Keesha was way out and eliminated herself, Dan gained the point for that round. With only three left the guys had to guess how many ounces of blood were on the table. Ollie and Jerry folded, automatically giving Dan the point. Tied with two points each, it was down to Dan and Jerry with Ollie having very little of a chance. The last item up for guessing was a bed of nails which Dan came closest to. This marked Dan’s first win of the season, breaking his self imposed losing streak.

Later that night April and Ollie knew that April had to get Dan to veto her. She wanted to use her $5,000 that she won from a previous PoV to sway Dan and Ollie thought that would surely get Dan to use the veto. Dan had other ideas though as he wanted to use the veto on Jerry, forcing Renny to put Ollie on the block. When the two got a chance to talk, Jerry apologized to Dan for the Judas comment. Of course he would though since Dan is in power this week and it just shows that Jerry will sway to wherever the power is.

Before the two could talk strategy, Dan and Renny had a humorous moment when Renny cut Dan’s hair. He was so scared that she would mess it up, since she is crazy and all, but he loved his new cut and even got a kiss from Renny. After a lock down outside the houseguests came in to a smaller table. Some were sad that their huge table was missing, except for Renny of course. Renny hated the large table since it was “such a bitch to dust!” Got to love Renny and her one liners!

Back outside April finally approached Dan about using the veto. She mentioned about possibly giving him some money and said that on her and Ollie’s word, Dan would not be targeted. Some good reasons for NOT using it on Jerry were also made since he almost did win his third PoV. Although I don’t like April too much she does know how to talk her way out of things but I don’t think it will work this time. Since Dan did have the choice to make he went to Renny to see her thoughts. He asked her straight out about having a deal with Ollie, which she denied. Dan then asked Renny who would go up if Jerry came off the block. She wouldn’t tell him, making Dan wary that Ollie would stay down and either Memphis or Keesha going up.

When it came time for the ceremony Dan dropped a bombshell on everyone. He said that one of the two nominees made a deal with him that involved cash. He never said which wanted to give him money, but since both April and Jerry have gold bars it could have been either. It was a smart move for Dan to play, putting the target on the two nominees and off of him. Not using their Veto was also smart for Dan since Renny could have put his alliance up. That leaves this round of Big Brother 10 and leads us into the eviction. Who will go? Either April or Jerry will walk out the door on Thursday and when they do we’ll let you know!

So You Think You Can Dance Surprises

FOX, Think You Can Dance No Comments

I’ve never really gotten into So You Think You Can Dance but it was on tonight so I gave it a shot. I thought it was going to be very similar to American Idol as there would be some amazing talent while most of the auditions focused on those who sucked. But I found myself being completely wrong as most of those who were shown were pretty good and probably knew they could dance. Once thing I found entertaining was how well the show goes into back stories. Rather then just spewing out people left and right like Idol, So You Think focused more on the people themselves rather then going through so many auditions that were pointless. I can honestly say the show seems interesting I don’t know if I will follow through. I felt bad for the girl who got far last year then came back this season with a injured knee. It was emotional and something I hardly see on Idol. But I never really get into Idol post-auditions so I fear So You Think may suffer the same fate. I can say that it was a few entertaining hours and I may watch again tomorrow but we shall see. If anyone would like to write recaps for So You Think You Can Dance though they are welcome to. If you think you can rehash then drop me an email at realityrehash@gmail.com and let me know!

How Long Until CBS Cancels Greatest American Dog?

CBS, Greatest American Dog 3 Comments

CBS has ordered a new reality show for the summer and this means we will probably see one or two episodes and it will disappear for ever. They haven’t had much luck with reality shows lately so we can only assume The Greatest American Dog (GAD) will suffer the same fate. Premeiring in July, GAD will showcase talented dogs and their owners. Not only will the dogs compete against each other but they, and their owners, will live together as well. It’s basically like “I Know My Kids A Star” but for dogs. I don’t understand why CBS insists on canceling great reality shows to bring us crap that gets canceled in a few episodes. First there was Rock Star that had great potential yet they cancel it after two seasons. Kid Nation was another show that was amazing and did fairly well in the ratings, yet we hear nothing from it again. Even Pirate Master would have been a good show to try again or even re-run the episodes which were only shown online. GAD seems like a show that was plucked from Animal Planets lineup only to be re-branded for network TV. It will most likely suffer the same fate as Pirate Master, Secret Talents of the Stars and Armed and Famous. Below I left you a few clips that CBS has up for Greatest American Dog. You can decide for yourself if it will be worth a watch but who knows.

Parvati Scoops Up A Win With Survivor Micronesia

CBS, Survivor Micronesia No Comments

So I finally got around to seeing the finale of Survivor Micronesia and all I can say is wow. I didn’t see half of that coming. If you read my finale prediction I was as wrong as could be as I didn’t expect a F2 and didn’t expect Parvati to come anywhere close to a win. It was interesting to see that they went right into a final four immunity without the “rights of passage” ceremony so I figured something was up. At the challenge I got somewhat nervous as Natalie was in the lead early and that usually guarantees a win but Amanda scooped up her first immunity this season ensuring she’d be in the final three.

At this point I figured Natalie would go but then Cirie’s name came into the pot and well I was not happy about that. Parvati and Amanda figured it would be a final three for the end vote and felt Cirie would be hard to beat. She did have a lot of friends on the jury as well as being a great talker. It really wasn’t known going into what was thought as the final tribal who was going between Cirie and Natalie. Then Cirie had to open her mouth and mention how she felt at the bottom of the totem poll when it came to Parvati and Amanda so I thought her fate was sealed. Once the votes were cast though Natalie’s name came out with 3 - 1 votes and luckily Cirie pulled through to an all favorite final three of women.

The three girls wok up the next morning expecting food and got nothing but a paddle of doom. It let them know that there was still another immunity challenge and therefore this meant it was a final two once again. I’m not sure why they switched back but this is the one time I wish they would have ended at a final three. Amanda took it the worst as she broke down to both Parvati and Cirie. She didn’t want to play the game anymore and it made everyone remember she’s been playing the game for almost six months straight.

After Amanda pulled it together the three women went off for the rights of passage ceremony as they laid each voted out torch to rest. Most of the fans didn’t have much to be said about as none of the three really got to meet some of them but most were memorable statements from those voted out and made me realize I forgot about half the people voted out pre-merge. I didn’t remember most of the fans who were out early and I now realize I didn’t care about half of the fans.

The last immunity challenge was actually very simple yet very interesting. The three girls had to balance several blocks by only two end paddles. They also made it a bit harder by forcing them to make sure a small ball didn’t move from the rod they were creating. All three did fairly well until Parvati fell out half way through. This meant that either Cirie or Amanda would win and both made it to the last round where whoever dropped out first would give the immunity to the other. Both were shaking and off balance throughout the time but Cirie slipped first giving Amanda another shot at the final tribal council and this time the sole power to send someone home.

When the three got back to camp Cirie basically knew she wouldn’t be making it to the finals once again but Amanda gave her some hope. She realized that Parvati did play a very social game and had some friends on the jury while Cirie hadn’t made that many tight bonds. Also Parvati gave her some reason to take Cirie as she told her that Cirie would never win against herself. Amanda then went to the last tribal council run down and spent. It was assumed she’d vote out Cirie but I guess the way this season was going anything could have happened. The way Amanda was crying and freaking out made it seem her decision was harder then it seemed. In the end she sent Cirie packing and lost her vote in the end because of it.

At the last tribal council Amanda and Parvati both took heat. Amanda was only praised by Ozzy (who professed his love for her) and James since both hated Parvati with a vengeance. Although they were new Alexis and Natalie had the best and strangest questions. Alexis was really good at pinpointing Amanda’s acting during tribal while Natalie just continued her psycho reign by basically professing her love for Parvati. She wanted to know how her flirting and strategic skills were represented “in the bedroom”, alas having the most pointless question in Survivor history.

Before the votes were read I had a feeling Amanda would win as she wasn’t as bashed as badly as Parvati was but I was once again wrong. In the end the votes came out 3 for Amanda and 5 for Parvati, meaning Amber 2.0 won Survivor Micronesia. Jeff Probst basically called Parvati the new Amber and he was right as she became the 16th winner of a million dollars and the first female winner since Guatemala. In the end it was a great season with shocks after shocks, even the winner was a shock! Now we turn our minds to Survivor Gabon which I predicted would be the location a few weeks ago. It looks amazing and for the first time it will be shot in high definition. Can Gabon top Micronesia? We can only hope! (Oh and yes, Amanda and Ozzy are now dating)

America’s Vote Stripped Away on Big Brother 9

Big Brother 9, CBS 1 Comment

Also posted on LiveWireBB.com

The night began with the promise of a houseguest returning and that they did but NOT who we would ever have expected. It all began with the house wondering who to vote out. James going was the first idea as everyone promised Sharon that she would stay, although she was kind of freaking out about it.

Natalie and Sheila’s convo which we covered the other day was then showcased and made us believe that the vote was changing for Sharon to leave. They both felt that Sharon was a threat as she was quiet and was ‘playing Matty’ which Natalie didn’t like too much. The votes then
changed once again as Matt talked Natalie back into voting out James so his fate was almost sealed.

The evicted houseguests were then shown and let us know why they should return… kind of late. Jacob basically wanted to come back to see Sharon while Jen and Parker seemed to be getting along well. Alex and Amanda are still fighting it seems and both were blaming each other for losing. Allison was the one who wanted to come back the most and seemed ready to return as well.

We then saw the evictees live in the studio and Julie let us know that Alex would potentially be returning. She told Alex that he must go sit in a mystery box and those still in the house will vote for Alex to return as a ‘mystery person’ or for the newest evictee to return. I don’t think they realized this as first as they were so happy for Alex to return.

They quickly got to the eviction and James was evicted by 5 - 1. Chelsia was the only one to walk him to the door and she was visablly upset. When he got outside James was given a standard interview and a very heartfelt video from Chelsia. He was then told that he could return to the game and returned by saying he may “crap his pants”. Directly following this the housegeusts were given another dose of the buzzer and were shocked to learn they had to wait during the break for the news to hit them.

Live votes were then conducted for either the mystery box or James to return. Everyone went in and only Matt, Ryan and Sheila voted for the mystery box while everyone else voted for James to return. I was hoping for a tie since that would have been crazy and I have no idea what they would do, but alas James returned. It seems we were kind of denied our vote for Alex to return, and it was therefore kind of pointless but alas James returned and surprised everyone by jumping out of the box.

Everyone was then thrown into the HoH which SURPRISE was an endurance challenge. They are all standing on a little disk which is being spun around and lifted. The last person remaining on the disk will win the HoH so we will surely be in for a long night.
