Lost Bag Forces Fan Favorite Out Of Amazing Race 13

Amazing Race, CBS No Comments

Last week a non elimination leg saved frat boys Andrew and Dan. This week there was no saving the final four teams as they embarked on their second to last leg. The teams remained in Moscow, Russia and their first task was to find a submarine. Toni/Dallas, Ken/Tina, and Nick/Starr all found the submarine at the same time. They searched inside for the actor who filmed a movie inside the submarine and all found the man at the same time. After receiving their clues it was off to a Fallen Park for the next Road Block. Dan and Andrew arrived last and were there alone. After finding their clue they went to the streets for a taxi where a truck splashed water all over them. They weren’t too upset though as it isn’t the worst that’s happened to them on the race. They knew it was only a matter of time something like that would happen and hoped that was the last for the day.

In the Fallen Monument Graveyard it was time for the Road Block. Nick and Starr arrived first and read the clue. It was probably the hardest task in any Amazing Race as they first had to solve a number puzzle, counting the number of Lennon and Stalin heads in the grounds. They then had to find a bookstore, give the woman the number and receive a book. After getting the book they then had to use the page number, 62, to find a clue to the author of the book’s house. There they would get their next clue. Nick found most of the clues early and was off to the bookstore. Dallas and Tina were doing the challenge around the same time and both were foreshadowed for losing their passports. Dan and Andrew arrived last after going to the round park. Who would of thought they would of done that? While the other three searched for the clues, Nick found the book and was on his way to the author’s house. Dallas was the next to try the bookstore and guessed wrong with 36. Nick was the first to find the building, allowing he and Starr to move on and the others still doing the Road Block.

Frat Boys Saved By Non Elimination On Amazing Race

Amazing Race, CBS No Comments

From Kazakhstan to Russia, the teams race, fight and have some overall craziness. After leaving the Pit Stop all the teams met up in the airport. There flight didn’t leave until the morning so it gave a nice equalizer for the final four teams. Dallas and Starr continued their romance in the airport once again. Nick didn’t seem phased though as he thinks Dallas won’t let the relationship hurt the game. Dan and Andrew also had some fun in the airport and a few laughs at their expense. Last episode they left their shoes at the Detour, forcing them to steal slippers from the hotel At the airport they found a shoe store that is open 24 hours a day. They each bought a new pair of sneakers but at a higher cost then they had hoped. The two didn’t have very much money to begin with and heading to Moscow they realized they could be in some trouble.

Landing in Moscow the teams raced for taxi’s. Dan and Andrew were the first to get one while the others follwed. Although they were the first two out, Dan/Andrew and Ken/Tina had issues with their taxi drivers, letting the other two teams get ahead. At the Moscow Monastery they were asked to first light a candle before receiving their clue. The clue told them to head to a Russian Military Base for their next task. Dan/Andrew finally found the monastery followed close behind by Ken/Tina. Toni and Dallas were first to make it to the military base and found it was a Detour. They had to either march with a crew or serve food to 75 military guys. Toni and Dallas quickly finished the marching Detour, putting them in first and in front of Starr/Nick. Ken/Tina and Dan/Andrew arrived at the same time and both chose to do the marching task. Andrew had some issues getting his socks on so they decided to switch Detours. Only problem was they needed the outfit for both and wasted valuable time by taking off the suit and then having to put it right back on.

Top Chef 5 Literally Takes A Bit Out Of New York

Bravo, Top Chef No Comments

Top Chef has returned for its fifth season and they started it off with apples in the big apple: New York. With seventeen new contestants they were ready to start their culinary journey but wait! Only sixteen chef outfits are hanging in the kitchen so one must leave before the game even starts. That’s where the apples come in. For their first quickfire challenge the chefs must compete in three apple related challenges. In the first part the first nine to peal several apples would be safe, Stefan finished first and it gave him immunity for the first elimination challenge. For part two it was all about the dicing. Four more became safe leaving Leah, Radikha, Lauren and Patrick to compete to stay. After making a dish with their apples in two minutes it came down to pre-game friends Patrick and Lauren. With head chef Tom liking Patrick’s salad better that sent Lauren back to culinary school and the rest of the contestants into the kitchen!

But wait! The chopping block made an appearance before the chefs could move into their house. They each chose a knife and were paired up based upon a location in New York. The pairs would make a dish and compete against each other. The better of the two dishes would keep the chef safe while the cook of the lesser of the two would be up for elimination. With that said and done it was time to move in. Inside two distinct groups formed. The gays of the house formed the “rainbow” alliance while the two guys from Europe distanced themselves from the group. Stefan and Fabio, both from Europe, started complaining about American ways and even seemed to become rivals in a sense. Danny spoke up in confessional and didn’t seem to like either of them much, seems we may have a budding fight on our hands!

Non-Elimination Saves Ken & Tina On Amazing Race 13

CBS, The Amazing Race 1 Comment

The non-elimination leg was pretty predictable to show up this episode but surely the team that it saved was not. After their 12 hour rest period it was time for the teams to leave Cambodia. The next stop on this amazing race was Deli, India where all the teams took the same flight. They were required to use the same travel agent to book flights, giving them a nice equalizer. There Starr and Dallas, of two different teams, rekindled their “friendship” from the second episode. Both said they would want to be friends off the race but on it seems akward as Dallas’ mom Toni and Starr’s brother Nick are always there to break the two apart.

As the teams arrived in Deli things quickily became a taxi race. Nick and Starr were first to get out while Dan/Andrew and Toni/Dallas followed behind. Ken and Tina were the last to depart as they had trouble finding a taxi and seemed to get the worst driver ever. Nick/Starr and Dan/Andrew arrived at their next location first with a road block to come. What they had to do was choose one of the team members to first mask off a tut tut car then paint the rest green. Apparently India is going “green” so they want to express that on their small taxi’s. Starr chose to do the task along with Andrew. Toni/Dallas and Kelly/Christy then arrived followed by Terrance and Sarah who struggled finding the location. Ken and Tina were last to the spot as their taxi driver, as I said before, had no idea where he was going.

America’s Toughest Jobs Goes Monster Trucking

America's Toughest Jobs, NBC No Comments

After the last three weeks in frozen Alaska, America’s Toughest Jobs thaws out by returning to the continental United States. California to be exact for some monster trucking! This week the ten remaining members of the crew were put to the test through three monster truck jam courses. It all began with a little practice where some proved strong while others fell short. Before the practice began we saw a short segment from Rick who grew up loving the same truck he was about to drive. He went more in depth with his past, saying how he was homeless at the age of three.

With the boss overseeing everything the crew were always being watched and critiqued. Those who stepped up the game were the three girls and Ben, all doing well during the initial test and showing progress. The show tended to focus on those who did bad as it was the most entertaining. First up was Eric who is a bit schitzo it seems. After having his truck shut off by the boss he continued to cost down the track, almost running into a wall. Chris didn’t do any better as he throttled for too long, also having his car shut off. Even though he was told seconds before that he should brake if his car is shut off, Chris continued to glide scaring even the most professional guys there. Chris didn’t take kindly to the incident and, like his past driving job, gave excuses that made no sense. Last up for mistakes was Bryce who made a huge one. After learning the hand signals on when to start and stop, Bryce apparently forgot them. As the released gave him a thumbs up Bryce pushed the gas and sped onto the track. His car was immediately stopped as he almost his the official who was supposed to give him the ok to go. It seems a thumbs up means “are you ready” rather then “GO” and Bryce mixed the two up. It didn’t look good for him but others would thankfully save him in the end.

The Gold Rush Returns On America’s Toughest Jobs

America's Toughest Jobs, NBC No Comments

When was the last time you heard someone say their profession was mining for gold? It’s been awhile since the gold rush but America’s Toughest Jobs is bringing it back! The crew remained in Alaska this week, returning to Anchorage for their mining ordeal. With their bosses in tow the 11 remaining workers hiked to gold mining central: the creek. At the job site the crew was taught how to both pan for gold as well as drudge. Their first day was all about panning the good old fashioned way.

For the first three or so hours nobody was hitting any gold. The bosses said they weren’t necessarily looking at how much gold they found but how well they worked individually and as a team. After a few hours of no luck Sandy, once again, stepped up the game by finding a chunk! Rick and Michaela followed shortly there after and everyone was on the gold rush bandwagon. Although everyone found SOME gold, others were just not getting it. The boss couldn’t believe how some of the crew, especially Ben and Phil, were just sloshing the pans around. They felt after a full day of panning they should have got the hang of things but apparently its harder than it looks. Phil, who was lacking in the gold department, got knocked down another knock by actually getting knocked down. While crossing the creek (a big no no) Phil took a tumble and could have been washed away in the frigid water. Luckily only his bucket got washed away and he came out with only  a cold.
