A few weeks ago CBS silently revealed that a new Mark Burnett show would be debuting this summer called Jingle. The show pits several teams of 2-4 against each other to create the best product jingles known to man. Contestants will compete to produce jingles for large corporations and they say some musical experience is needed and anyone older then 13 can apply. If you think you have what it takes to make the best jingles ever then this show may be for you.
Earlier it was announced that Jeff Probst and Survivor would be returning for two more season being the 17th and 18th seasons. In an article for the USA Today Jeff announced that he has signed on for two more! This means Jeff and most likely Survivor will have at least four more seasons, taking it to it’s 20th season. The news is no doubt great and hopefully the future looks bright for the show. It was said that Micronesia was supposed to be the last season but thanks to increased ratings and CBS coming to the senses we have at least two more years of the show to look forward to.
Big Brother 9 is quickly coming to an end and tonight we reached the second to last episode where the final two was crowned. The show began where the last left off as Adam, Ryan and Sheila were hanging on for dear life as a stream of water wanted to push them down a steep slope. As the challenge progressed we learned that Sheila almost drowned in Hawaii several years ago and she had a deep fear of water. It wasn’t that apparent though until she finally let go some 36 minutes into the endurance challenge. Knowing that he had to get back onto Ryan’s good side, Adam gave up as well giving Ryan the first win of the three part HoH.
It was then down to Sheila and Adam to compete in the second part of the HoH. It was a very interesting one and one of the best the series has had. What they had to do was spin in a giant hamster wheel to maneuver several balls through a maze on the inside of the wheel. These balls had names of the previous HoHs on them and they had to then align them in the order people on Head of Household. Through the power of editing it made it seem as Adam and Sheila both performed equally well in the challenge, although Sheila did stumble a few times. In the end Adam pulled out a victory beating Sheila by half of her time. This mean that Adam and Ryan would compete in the live final part of the HoH.
Before the last HoH and eviction could occur we were shown a glimpse of the past as I mentioned last night. They showed Adam telling Ryan that Sharon was the better person to evict, showing that Ryan did in fact know that Sharon was leaving. They also showed Adam promising Sheila and Ryan that he would go to the end with them. It was interesting to see since Ryan entered only as Sheila left and Adam switched gears just as fast.
Next up was the jury house which I was very excited to see. I wanted to know what Matt and Natalie were doing and it seems they are back to their old ways. Natalie still seems to like him but Matty is on the defense and still treating her bad. He did say in the HoH that he wanted to treat her better but it doesn’t seem like he’s using his current chance in the jury house to do so. Sheila then came in and everyone was surprised. They then watched the DVD of the latest events and something interesting happened. As they watched Sharon walk out the door someone caught Ryan and Adam gesture to each other. At that point they realized the two had been working together and were very tight for a long time now. It also pointed out to Sharon that Ryan did in fact know she was going last night.
It was then time for the last HoH to occurr and it was rather obvious who would win. Adam basically threw it to Ryan, knowing Ryan would take him. Although at some points it seemed as if Adam could have won, since he mistakenly chose the right answer, Ryan pulled through with a single point to take the last HoH. He then had to evict either Adam or Sheila and took the obvious route of sending Sheila packing. This then led into a string of tear drawn answers to Julie’s questions. Although Sheila does seem upset she should have realized that Ryan would have taken Adam. She even told Adam that Ryan would never take her so I’m not exactly sure where the tears came from. In the end Adam and Ryan are the final two that could have been predicted since Natalie left the game. One of them will take home the $500,000 and the other will soon learn he’s out of the job thanks to a comment he made that CBS exposed.
CBS is continuing their Ponderosa series with three new clips from the ‘jury house’. The first clip gives us a glimpse at Ozzy’s reaction right after being voted off. It seems as if he didn’t even bring the idol with him to Tribal Council and he wasn’t too happy about that. The 2nd gives a short “day in the life of” a jury member and shows what happens when Survivors are voted out. In the last video both Eliza and Ozzy give us their predictions about the upcoming Tribal Council and how it all works for them. For more clips you can check out Ponderosa on CBS.com
Tonight I honestly had no clue how the votes were going to go down. But they sure were exciting as nobody, except Adam and Ryan, expected it. It all began post-veto and we saw Natalie’s slow freak out. She basically begged the guys to keep her in and never really complained to Sheila. Adam and Ryan were in control of the votes and she knew that. Knowing that Natalie was going and wanting to cause some drama, both Adam and Ryan called a ‘house meeting’ where they basically put everything out in the open. They got Natalie to admit she’s been playing both sides, that she’s with them over the girls and most importantly, that she would put Sheila up on the block and evict her. That plays a HUGE role come eviction time and I’m sure sure regrets saying it now.
In the jury house the drama continues. Both Chelsia and Joshuah had a bad feeling that either James or Sharon would be joining them and both were right. We saw James walk through the jury door and only Matt was happy to see him. Although Chelsia was glad to see James, her emotions were about to change. He let her have it by telling her that it is her fault he was evicted. James blames her lash out at everyone, after she was evicted, for his eviction. She took it very hard and leapt up only to run to her room. She felt bad for causes the “only person she liked in the house” to be evicted but James quickly came her to her rescue. He told her he’s not sad he lost the money but happy to have “fallen for a girl on TV”. I swear James has to be bipolar after his “I hate you, I love you” stunt.
Back in the Big Brother house Julie got the houseguests talking. She opened things up with the “house meeting” and both Sharon and Sheila had their say. Sharon avoided the question as usual while Sheila let us know how she felt. She was mad that Natalie would side with the boys over her and still couldn’t get over the fact Natalie would put her up, even though she put Natalie up a few days prior. Julie then had a house meeting of her own by asking everyone if they would rather have someone who is more deserving or someone they could be in the final two. Everyone said ‘more deserving’ but of course they will considering they were sitting outside the Diary Room.
It then came down to the vote and like I said I had NO clue how this would go. I knew Natalie would be leaving I just didn’t know if Ryan and Adam would pull the tie stunt that they did. Ryan went in first and voted Natalie as expected. Adam then voted for Sharon, screwing Sheila over. Sheila then had to break the tie and decided to send Natalie home. She told her she had to because she stated twice that she would put Sheila up on the block if she won the final four HoH. I mean it was a legit reason for voting Natalie out so I don’t think Adam and Ryan’s plan to put the blood on Sheila’s hands really worked. Natalie seemed more upset about the two guys when talking to Julie so I have a feeling they will be in for a shock if one of them is sitting next to Sheila in the final two.
The HoH challenge was complete luck as all the questions were a guessing game. It was titled ‘Fact or Fiction’ and they had to either guess if an event in the house was true or false. Most were fiction since true and logical ideas would have been to easy. One question stumped a few of them being: “There is still a pre-existing relationship in the house”. When Julie said the question I realized she was talking about the guinea pigs but only Ryan got the question right. This tied him up with Sharon, who I kind of wanted to win, so they went on to a tie breaker. Ryan ended up pulling through with the tie breaker and claims his second HoH. But as we know HoH just means immunity this week as the veto is the most important thing. Nominations won’t really matter either as whoever holds the veto simply holds the vote as well. We will find out who wins this veto and who makes the final three next Tuesday with a special LIVE edition. Then the final two is crowned the next day so next week will be a very crazy and exciting week. Oh how I can’t wait!
After over 60 days in the house, Sheila has finally won her first challenge and first taste of power. On last Wednesday we were left with the houseguests dangling in their “torture chambers” as they vied for HoH. Sharon was the first to drop out, citing that she hurt her back the night before. For some reason I think Sharon throws a bunch of these challenges. She knows she’ll go up but seeing her streak, she also stays each and every time. After about two hours the deal making began. Sheila wanted the HoH badly but Natalie and Ryan knew they to be safe. Sheila told Ryan fairly early that she wouldn’t put him up since he saved her, but Natalie was a different story. Natalie was worried Sheila would put her up so Sheila promised her she wouldn’t be nominated. When Adam and Sharon returned outside Ryan quickly dropped. This mean Natalie should have dropped to give Sheila the win. But Natalie took her good old time, saying she couldn’t do it since she wasn’t a quitter.
After about 30 minutes of Natalie wavering back and forth and asking “what would Jesus do”, she dropped down giving Sheila the win. I’m happy for Sheila as she has been playing an interesting game and could possibly win. It was obvious who she would put up, Adam and Sharon, so they spent the rest of the episode promoting the “Natalie has lied to everyone” bit. It was all about Natalie and her lies and basicially securing the votes for her to go. The plan is for Adam to come off the block and Natalie going up and out. Although that was the center of the show, Sheila’s HoH room played a huge one as well. She was the only one to not see her family since the show began so it was nice to see her react to that. All in all it was a pretty good episode. Will the plan to get Natalie out work? Find out next Wednesday when I’ll tell you!
