CBS, Greatest American Dog
No Comments
With only one elimination left until the finale of Greatest American Dog it was time to for the dogs to show their loving side. With two challenges that showed the dogs loyalty to their master, the show put a new spin on man’s best friend. On last weeks episode we learned that Galaxy’s leg was potentially injured and it put fear in JD that he would have to leave the competition. The next morning, Galaxy’s leg seemed magically healed but JD took him to the vet just to make sure. There he learned that Galaxy was as fit as a two year old, making the matter disappear and the competition continue.
For the Dog Bone challenge the four pairs had to compete in an endurance type challenge. Each were stationed on a stump facing each other. The last pair to get down from the stump would win the Dog Bone suite and a leg up in the next Showdown challenge. Since Andrew is so used to sleeping, Andrew’s lay down took Laurie out of the challenge. She knew he couldn’t stand up that long and was happy he lasted the time that he did. Next to go down were JD and Galaxy. Galaxy also laid down which isn’t surprising considering her injured leg. That left Travis/Presley and Teresa/Leroy. Since they were the final two, and Travis didn’t think Presley could last long, a deal was brought to the table. Travis wanted to give Teresa the win and in return they would share her leg up. Teresa wouldn’t take the deal though and seeing that Presley wasn’t enjoying the challenge, Travis called Presley down. In return Teresa took home her second Dog Bone win, giving her the leg up and a quick video chat with her boyfriend.
During their break between the Dog Bone challenge and the Showdown, the dogs and masters took some time to swim. Andrew didn’t seem to take well to the pool as he paddled even when dry while the other dogs seemed to love it. Presley and Travis swam together while JD let Galaxy wade while he sunbathed. Teresa had a different approach and that was letting Leroy do as he wished in the pool. At one point he seemed to be wild and JD felt it was bad training as Teresa didn’t reprimand him. She did give her reasons though and that was Leroy’s inability to herd. Rather he splashes the pool and “herds” the wave that is created from the splash. It makes sense, but I highly doubt that’s what he’s doing.
After the fun was done it was back to the game with the start of the Showdown challenge. Thanks to her leg up, Teresa was able to see what the challenge was before anyone else. She learned that the dogs would have to sit in half circle and not move from it. They would also be called and enticed by the three other players so it was important to get your dog to stay with you. Teresa used her advantage to train Leroy in the middle of the night. She tried to get him to stay as she threw toys and other things and it seemed to go well. The next day everyone was given the chance to bond with the other dogs. Teresa played it smart and tried to get the dogs to go for the toys when she yelled stay. Laurie’s game play was just having fun with the dogs. She wants to have a mix of play and love with them, to create a bond that would pull them away from their owners. Travis didn’t know what he was doing and just kind of hung out with the dogs while JD took his normal approach. He mimicked the owner’s voice and tried to get the dogs to play. The only one he had trouble with was Andrew, who actually ran away from him. It took him awhile to find Andrew, who ran outside to Laurie. The dog just couldn’t live without his mom and did anything to get to her.
When it came time for the Showdown everyone was filled in on how the challenge worked. Laurie and Andrew were up first and Andrew didn’t budge one bit. He actually yawned as the others tried to lure him away from Laurie. The judges loved Laurie’s technique as she wasn’t in a controlling position but rather calmly talking to Andrew. The others had some problems though and it actually put the judges in a three way stalemate for awhile. JD and Galaxy did well during the challenge as Galaxy hardly budged. The judges felt JD’s stance with Galaxy was harsh and almost robotic. He snapped back at them AFTER he knew he was safe, which may be ruled in next week. That left it down to Teresa and Travis. Although Presley ran completely out of the ring, the judges felt he performed loyalty over Leroy’s feared stay. That’s why Teresa and Leroy were chosen to leave, making the final three for the finale. Either JD/Galaxy, Laurie/Andrew or Travis/Presley will win Greatest American Dog and the $250,000. Who will it be? Tune in next week to find out!
While we wait for the finale, leave a comment and let us know who you think should win Greatest American Dog!

Fox Reality recently had a show called “Realiholic” and well I feel I am! I’ve been addicted to reality tv since Survivor premiered in the summer of 2000 and then Big Brother right after that. I don’t know what really triggered me to love reality television so much but honestly it’s part of my life. I know it’s kind of lame and dorky but I can admit that I am addicted to raelity. Ok its a different addition then some as it doesn’t really harm you but still it’s an addiction! When I miss an episode I wonder what’s going on, when Big Brother is on I’m constantly updating myself on the house. Sometimes when I travel I image that I’m on the Amazing Race and actually need to get somewhere fast! I even hum the “dun… dun… dun dun dun” tune as I run to my next connection at the airport!
So I know I’m not the only one out there who is “addicted” to reality tv but still it makes me wonder. What is different with reality tv that makes it so much more “addicting” then other shows? Sure some are addicted to sport shows or soaps but still, reality television doesn’t end when you turn off your tv. You can go online and blog (that was Fox Reality’s top way you can tell you are a realiholic) and you can create more of an experience with reality tv. You miss shows when they are on break for the season and I even get withdrawals sometimes! It’s crazy. I know I sound like a broken record but still, it’s something to think about. So are you a realiholic? Leave a comment or post in the message board and let us know!
Read the rest and discuss with fellow fans!

Paradise Hotel 2
2 Comments
Back we go into Paradise Hotel 2 with more and more drama. With the new girl Myrna fully into the game, it’s time for a girl to leave and that has put all of them on edge. It’s obvious that the hotel is split pretty equally as TD joins the new people to go against the “OG” or originals. TD is probably in the best position now if she’d only keep her mouth shut. Get gets into a fight with Tanya as the show opens. Tanya and a few of the originals were talking about God knows what when TD blurts out something to affect of “I’m not involved because I’m black”. That single comment sends Tanya off as she tries to tell TD that nothing had to deal with race. Mike, Tanya’s boyfriends, doesn’t defend her but rather stays neutral, annoying Tanya who ends up crying because of it.
The drama then turned to a more lighter note with Lauren and Krista taking a few strolls through paradise. As they chat they come across a few of the new people and make snarky remarks under their breath. It’s funny to see people dislike each other simply because they are ‘new’ or ‘originals’. It’s a strange dynamic but continues to add drama to the show.
Since this is an elimination episode it was time for a Pandora’s Box. Everyone basically had questions that tried to break up couples but Krista took it the worst. She was asked by she is a troll and becomes happy whenever someone rubs her stomach, basically saying she clings to whoever will keep her in the game. None of the originals, besides TD, liked the question too much and Krista even asked the person to reveal that they wrote the question. Nobody would but later we found out that it was Aaron once again causing trouble. He also angered Myrna a bit at Pandora’s by basically saying she was a dancer/stripper when asked how she earned her money. Sadly it didn’t sway Myrna to go with the originals which I was really hoping for.
As elimination approached, TD began to become closer to Chris. Everyone is thinking its just her game play to get the newbies on her side, and that might be true. She won’t get close to Chris in a romantic way and basically runs away whenever he tries to. She wouldn’t even pick him for a roommate in the end and denied his request to spend a night in her room. Who knows what will happen with these two, it should be interesting.
When it came down to eliminate one of the girls it seemed like Myrna would have all the power. She entered the pool side ceremony standing in last place, but Amanda the host told her she wouldn’t be selecting her roommate last. Amanda quickly called Myrna to the front and told her to select the first roommate. It was kind of nerve racking because whoever she chose would basically decide who went home anyway and wow did she sure select the one person that would affect the night the most. By choosing Mike, Tanya’s boyfriend, she basically secured that Tanya would be leaving. But we shall play out the selections since they are still rather interesting.
Krista was up first after Myrna chose Mike. She quickly went to James, her comfortable roommate. They’ve been together for awhile now and I have a feeling they will make it to the end or close to it. TD was up next and surprisingly went to Aaron rather then Chris. I was shocked she did this as she’s been playing Chris the entire time; selecting him would have sealed it for her. Next up was Stephanie who then went to Chris as she knew he would keep her safe. Had Ryan played it right he could have sent Stephanie home, but no he was too drunk to think of a plan. That left Lauren and Tanya left without a roommate and only Ryan left to choose. Tanya was the next to go and knew whoever she chose would probably send her home as Mike couldn’t be selected. She moved around the chairs carefully and in the end chose Chris. Stephanie had already chose Chris but Tanya felt that was her only choice who would possibly keep her in the game. Lauren went last and obviously chose Ryan as he was the only one left without a roommate.
It was then all down to Chris. I knew he would choose Stephanie to stay but the way her worded it it just seemed possible that he would choose Tanya. Sadly he went with the obvious and chose Stephanie as his roommate, allowing Tanya to take one for the team. She left with a heartfelt goodbye to everyone, including Myrna, but promised that she would have a hard week thanks to her choice. Her and Mike then separated but who knows what Paradise has in store. May Tanya return? It’s happened before so who knows.
Next week they are promising a huge shake up in the game as someone returns who the hotel guests already know. My guess is that Johnny returns as the “new guy” since he was voted out a few weeks ago rather then being sent home thanks to the roommate selection. It should be interesting if that’s who is really as since he could go either way with the originals or the newbies.
