If you don’t like reading spoilers and hate knowing what goes on in Survivor in advance, then STOP READING NOW. But if you love to know twists and turns before they begin, then continue reading since this is one post you’ll want to read about Survivor Tocantins. During the TV Guide preview Jeff Probst revealed a few early twists and turns to the Tocantins season that will surely change the game.
- As we all know two people are voted out of the tribe right at the start. Funny thing is, the two people voted out simply bypass a four hour hike and get a helicopter ride to the camp. The others have to actually take the four hour hike to camp, which is huge turn of events. The person who gets to camp first will have two choices to make: look for the idol or begin building camp.
- Exile Island will be a huge sand dune where two players will go each round. The winning tribe will send one player to Exile while that person will then turn around and pick someone from the winning tribe. The two who enter Exile will each choose an egg. One egg has the clue to the idol, which says its back at their camp, while the other gets nothing.
- Those sent to Exile will also have power as they can return to their old tribe or mutiny to the opposing tribe. They will have the choice. It is not yet known if both have to go to differing tribes though or if two can go back to one tribe.
That’s all the dirt we have for now. If you want to hear Jeff tell you the twists then watch the video below. Sugar hosted the TV Guide preview so its a fun watch!
After 39 days it was time for the final Tribal Council and time to crown the winner of Survivor Gabon. Before we could get to the end we had to start at the final five. After voting out Crystal things were not looking good for Kenny. He came back to camp with everyone celebrating their move of voting of Kenny. They were all congratulating themselves for the final five and surprisingly, Kenny was rather quiet. The next morning Sugar was working on her plan. She wants to go to the end with Matty and Bob but still wants Kenny on her side. While going for the tree mail she worked on Kenny, why he still trusts her I have no idea.
In tree mail they all received warrior dress and paint so they were geared up for the immunity. Bob looked rather odd, running around in a mini skirt but the others looked Gabon-like. The first part of the challenge had the final five digging under a gate with Susie beating everyone out, surprisingly. She was also the first across the raised plank maze. Everyone followed behind and made it through around the same time. The last part saw the survivors searching through random huts for three bags of puzzle pieces. Bob, Sugar and Matty, followed by Kenny, found their bags. Susie never found her last bag, putting her back where she belonged: the bottom. In the end the hut puzzle came down to Sugar and Bob. Bob ended up pulling out the puzzle just in time to win his fifth challenge in a row. I have a feeling he’ll probably make that six in a row pretty darn soon.
Survivor Gabon has had shocking tribal councils ever since the merge. Hell even before the merge with Ace going and tonight was no different. Last time, as well all know Corinne went thanks to a failed hidden idol. Returning back to camp thinks were a bit dramatic as Matty was fuming from the vote that Kenny gave him. Sugar was somehow unaffected and wanted to stick with Crystal and Kenny, although she probably cannot (sadly) beat them in the end. We were also given another cocky moment from Kenny who may take Corrine’s role. He claims to be the “master mind” in the game, and may be right. Kenny is the only one playing the game, and has been for awhile. At least Crystal admits to not playing the game and wants to get Matty back for the stupid decision she made for not voting him out.
Before going to bed both Kenny and Bob had a discussion. Kenny wasn’t happy that Bob lied about the fake idol and somehow made Bob feel guilty. He then told Kenny that he’d give him the immunity, if he wins it next round….. um what? Bob is an idiot, well maybe not completely but why? He owes nothing to Kenny and obviously doesn’t realize you HAVE to lie in the game of Survivor. The next day the final six competed in a game of swap basketball. After wading through the swap, to retrieve a ball, they would then have to score a basket to get another ball. First to make three won a trip to see gorillas and some food. The three girls were out of it the entire time and in the end Matty, Bob and Kenny were neck and neck. Bob scored the winning basket, giving him another reward and allowing him to take Kenny and Crystal. He send Susie to Exile, letting Sugar and Matty alone. Another stupid move by Bob.
After a week to recap, Survivor Gabon is back with one of its most craziest episodes yet. Hard to believe, I know but its the truth. With Randy’s, amazing, vote off it was time to return to Nobag camp. There Bob and Corrine went off on Sugar. Bob was fine giving Randy the fake idol, but apparently he didn’t like the reaction people gave to Randy leaving. Um what did you want them to do? Cry? Corinne then chimed in and apparently she was being nice before. She and Sugar had yet another spat, ending with Corinne claiming the false friendliness is over. The Survivor Gabon logo was then randomly shown with the old blow horn sound for music, apparently the intro isn’t important anymore.
The next morning it was time to go fishing. Bob and Kenny went off together, finding two huge fish in the net. Kenny then went on a long confessional about his time in Gabon. He mentions how he never would do anything like this in his normal life and commented on Bob’s game play. He calls Bob a bad social player but great camper. Because of that, Kenny finds Bob to be dispensable as all he does is make stuff. It was them time for the Reward challenge and a product placement. The challenge split the tribe into two groups of three. Crystal and Susie were captains and chose the following teams: Crystal/Sugar/Bob and Susie/Matty/Kenny. Corinne was left out and she wasn’t too happy about it, luckily she wasn’t given the time to complain.
Thanks to Thanksgiving it was time for the annual Survivor recap episode and this year we were treated to more extras then ever before! Many new scenes were broadcast to our screens tonight along with the application videos of the final eight of Survivor Gabon. Randy started things off by giving us a glimpse into his home. He was talking to his dead dog’s urn, not surprising, but it makes reference to a future “New Scene” were Randy shows his softer side to Matty. Crystal’s audition seemed to be at a casting call where she called out her golden medal, saying that they’ve “probably already heard of her”. Sugar seemed a completely different person and nothing like she is on the show. Wearing a full on nose ring, Sugar exclaimed her homelessness and want for Survivor to help her grow up. Bob’s application was completely done at this school that he teaches. He seemed more fun and lighthearted then he is portrayed on the show as he cracked jokes with the lunch ladies.
Corinne’s audition was next and she was full on bitch, similar to her new scenes as well. Wearing a bikini, Corinne waded by the pool, rattled off her college degrees and let producers know she tells it like it is. Susie’s application was a complete sit down and somewhat nice to see. It was in her element, her home, and she seemed much more sane there. Kenny’s was rather odd as he seemed five years younger when he made it. With braces on you could hardly tell it was Kenny but sure enough it was! He let producers know that his strategy would be to always think ten times ahead. Pretty much what he’s been doing. Matty’s was last and it seemed almost TOO well done. The quality was the best out of all of them, as if CBS sent a film crew to his house after realizing he was probably “casted” and never sent in a tape.
After the applications it was time for the recap. Unlike past years the show actually focused on new scenes rather then just rattling off everything that happened. In the first new snippet we saw first Fang swimming and getting leeches. Randy was first to get one followed by Matty, who swore he wouldn’t get any. He didn’t seem to happy but it was obvious they were in there. There weren’t many new scenes about first Kota other then Bob’s ability to create stuff around camp. It was nice to see a glimpse of Bob from the start as he wasn’t shown much when the first episodes aired. After the merge the rest of the show was pretty much about Sugar. She had a completely new segment from the Sugar Shack, aka Exile Island, where she skinny dipped and acted as if she was at a nude beach. Surely we didn’t see THAT on the show. Sometimes I wonder why clips like that miss air, maybe we can blame Marcus for that one. She also got a few nods from Jeff as being in control of the whole Nobag tribe. It seemed they were setting it up for a “underdog” them with only Bob and Corinne seen as the “power houses”. Although they WERE in power, Bob and Corinne are lambs to the slaughter, using Ace’s term, for the next episodes unless a big change occurs. Knowing this group and the craziness of the past episodes though, I have a feeling we haven’t seen the craziest go down just yet.
On last weeks Survivor, Charlie was kicked out of the game thanks to Nobag’s weakest members. Tonight those who were friends with Charlie weren’t too happy as Randy and Corinne silently freaked out, well for the night following Tribal Council at least. The following day it was all about the hidden idols. Yes I put an s on that, although there really aren’t two. Bob found it smart, for some reason, to tell Sugar, and only Sugar, that he made a fake Immunity Idol. She played it off well as she didn’t let on that she has the real one. In the end Sugar just became even more powerful as she has the real idol and knows that there is another one now floating around. Who would have though she’d become the most powerful person in the game? I sure didn’t! With the idols now out in the air it was time for the next reward. While getting the tree mail both Corinne and Randy talked about how much they hated everyone remaining. They feel they are the only two now aligned from old Kota and realized that Matty had to switch over.
This tie with Matty played a role in the next reward challenge which brought back the Survivor Auction. Each of the players were given $500 and given the chance to bid on several items. First up were three cold beers and it was a bidding war between Randy and Sugar. She kept bidding to get Randy’s bid higher and higher and it worked. After getting the beer, Randy was left with only $320. The next item up was the dreaded covered item and Kenny took it home. It was a note to send someone to Exile Island and gain their money. Kenny didn’t waste any time and sent Bob to exile once again, knowing there is no idol and knowing Bob thinks there is. Sugar, who had been very vocal, got the next item of chocolate and peanut butter while Susie won a bubble bathe. Corinne won the only other individual reward in an advantage in the next immunity challenge. Kenny could have outbid her but in the end he didn’t need it. The last item was for the tribe and Randy won cookies for everyone. Although it was a nice gesture he turned into an idiot. He wanted to “own all the cookies” and designated who got the most. He gave Corinne and Matty one and half each while everyone received one. In the end only one cookie remained and, since she didn’t take one at first, Sugar took the last cookie and gave it to Matty. Randy wasn’t to happy about that move and made everyone know when returning to camp.
