Just when you thought it would be a Speidi-less episode of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, the duo returns to beg for forgiveness. Before we get into that crazy, most likely fake, drama let’s get to the rest. The show opened up with a montage to Heidi and Spencer, showing them leaving and the “reasons” why. Spencer claimed they thought that the show would let them stay in hotels overnight, basically be fake like their other show. It was obvious something was going on with the two when they showed that, but who knew they’d actually return again? Although the drama kids were gone, Janice and John picked up their spots as the two feuded about soggy boots. Janice had trouble moving the pot of water around the fire and accidentally spilled water into John’s boots. He woke up to find his shoes were wet and had a mini meltdown. Janice apologized but it only got worse from there.
When John asked Janice for shampoo, she denied him. That set John off. I mean he doesn’t have any hair so not sure why he need half of her shampoo, but he felt that she was being inconsiderate considering all that he has done for her. That led John to call Janice some not-so nice names and Janice was shocked. She’s said worse to people though, so I’m surprised she reacted the way she did but it almost seemed like she was about to quit. In the confessional Janice cried and seemed to have a breakdown. John was angry at first and was ok with what he called her, but he eventually realized he reverted to past ways and had a break down himself. The celebs are really showing their true colors, for once, and without Speidi we actually get to see them. John apologized again and again to Janice but she didn’t seem to hear it. She’s sick with bronchitis, can’t you tell?, and that is the reason for her “crazy” behavior. I’ll stick with Angela’s idea though, she’s sick in the head.
Survivor Tocantins saw yet another blindside last week. The third time around things were just as interesting as the season continues to prove Survivor gets better with age. (And just some side news, we’ll have at least TWO more seasons as CBS has ordered Survivor through season 20!) After voting out Candace, Timberia returned to camp with Erinn trying to get back into the loop. Nobody told her that Candace was going but she had to act like she knew. Coach seems to have jumped on hating Erinn with Candace being gone. Guess he always needs someone to bug him and someone to complain about. And Erinn is that new person until well, either she or Coach gets voted out. The next morning Erinn was all about being one with Timberia. She didn’t know how she would do it yet, but Jerry gave her in an. He isn’t feeling well and hasn’t been eating. It looks like Jerry could get sent home for being the new sick player Timberia, but they’ve kept sick players before.
After at the newly happy Jalapao things were looking up. With their newly won fishing gear and high spirits it was all about catching food. Too bad they didn’t know how to use the net though, as all they caught were minos. It was a good thing though as they were able to catch some pretty nice fish. That uped their morale and going into challenges full is always a plus. At the official first reward challenge it was all about the blind. The classic was back as Debbie and Joe were the callers and everyone else was moving around the maze blindfolded. Their hope was to find buckets, fill them with water, then corn, and raise a flag. Red was in the early lead thanks to Joe. Debbie was screaming at the tops of her lungs, but apparently nobody heard her. Timberia stumbled to find their buckets while Jalapao was already getting their water. They had it full before any water was in Timberia’s bucket, allowing Jalapao an easy win.
The last Solitary 3.0 saw Pod 9 leave after crawling through several unneeded penalty rounds. Although Pod 9 left the game, Pods 4 and 7 were still crawling, unaware they could quit without any harm. They both lasted 12 rounds before Val picked up the pace and claimed they were at the “midway point”. Neither would go if they quit yet continued crawling through the pain. It’s strange to watch grown men crawling on the floor but I guess that’s what you gotta do for $50,000 (which I still feel is way too small a prize for what they go through). After 20 rounds Pod 4 finally received his first penalty round and pushed through it in obvious pain. RobRob is a huge fan of the show and vowed to never push the red button, but it’s probably best for his body if he did on this one. Before beginning his second penalty Pod 4 pushed the red button, quitting the treatment yet staying int he game. He was full of excitement, glad that he stayed but still in the pain he pushed himself through.
With the guys off their knees and the girls finished tanning it was time to enter the anti pod. There the players sit and wait while Val sets up their pods for challenges and tasks. The final four waited and waited in the anti pod for five hours before returning to their pods. All claimed they would be winning the money but at that point in time they were given the chance to win a four course meal. The challenge was rock/paper/scissors and they would be competing against each other. Pod 3 and Pod 4 were up first with Pod 4 moving onto the final match. That left Pod 7 and Pod 8 to compete with Pod 7 winning as well, putting the two guys in the finals. It was down to initial pod mates and Pod 4 took home the meal, ordering a full course breakfast which he loved. While he ate his breakfast the other three got their famous meal bar, causing Pod 8 to flip. She couldn’t take not eating and was missing home. Val told her to go home if she couldn’t take it but Pod 8 decided to stay when the bed flew out of the wall.
With the only showmance of the season gone Big Brother turns to its home stretch. Following the eye opening Power of Veto ceremony, the house was up in confusion about who offered Dan the money. April was upset that he would tell everyone while Jerry was upset that April would stoop that low for a vote. Michelle was really the only one wondering who, between April and Jerry, did the offering and when she confronted Dan he simply said it wasn’t meant that way. I don’t think they ever got to the bottom of the money question but the bribing sure didn’t end there.
When Ollie and April realized that they may be spending their last week together they went into game mode. Both targeted Michelle to start but she quickly shot them down, saying she would vote however the house voted. This led them, once again, to Dan. Ollie started off by saying how he would have two people not putting him on the block if they won HoH compared to Jerry who was only one person. April then got to Dan and let him know she would do anything for his vote, even throwing him a few gold bars. It’s a shame she would use the money to gain a vote from Dan after he basically revealed that she did earlier. Dan hinted that his mind was still not made up which seemed to set April at ease a bit atleast.
For the nights interview from home we finally got to see how April and Ollie’s family feel about their “showmance”. During the segment we saw the two discussing moving in together, which April says was a huge joke, but who knows. Ollie’s parents were up first and talked highly of their son. I still wonder if they REALLY know what’s going on in the house. Although his father didn’t know what a showmance was he said it was ok as long as it was real. April’s sister was happy for the couple as well, comparing Ollie to herself. The only time she disagreed with the relationship was when Ollie “fake” proposed. Her eyes lit up so fast you could hardly tell the difference between her and her twin April!
During the time Julie took to talk to the houseguests little was given out. The questions weren’t that hard hitting this week which was kind of disappointing. Showing a video to the houseguests of Ollie’s fear of birds was the only good thing that came from the segment which led into a very long Renny rant. Up in the HoH Julie hardly got any words in as Renny blabbed about her different sides and her mother and father. She also went on how she is against Memphis and always was. It was about 10 minutes and I’m sure the producers were freaking out, hoping she would stop to give them a break to go to the votes!
When Renny finally shut up long enough for the votes it was that time. April was evicted as suspected and walked out the door happy with only Ollie’s vote not cast for her. Outside she let Julie know that her and Ollie’s relationship is more of a friend them “romance” but they sure didn’t act that way in the house. The audience laughed when Julie mentioned starting a family and I’m sure April realized then that everyone knew her and Ollie’s not so hidden secret. April’s interview outside was actually one of the better ones this season and led us into probably one of the most entertaining endurance HoHs ever devised.
Out in the backyard all six players for the HoH sat on a round disk. They were themed as vines and when it started to rain it seemed that would be it. BUT there is SO much more to this challenge that makes it one of the most fun to watch. Every so often the vines swing back and actually swing the houseguests into a wall! It actually seems kind of fun but after awhile I assume there will be some brusing. If only Renny was in the mix it would be so much more fun to watch but atleast we have Jerry to make fun of! He’s already starting the “do you know how old I am” complaints!
A new Big Brother 10 commercial recently aired claiming that 13 house guests will be moving into the house. News also broke that the first six evictions of the game will have a live audience in studio. These two simple pieces of news make me wonder a few things that I’ll mention below.
- Will Big Brother 10 feature the twin twist or something similar again? They love to pull similar twists on numbered seasons. Someone has returned to the game in seasons 3, 6 and 9; all divisible by 3. With the twins happening in season 5 they could be doing a similar twist for 10. Also Big Brother 10 started with 13 house guests and the new commercial is claiming season 10 will as well.
- This one isn’t that earth shattering but with the commercial airing that 13 house guests will move in could the players already be sequestered? The game isn’t set to air until July 13th, over a month away. It’s possible they could just be releasing the number as it has no outcome to the twist but it always seems the players are sequestered before ANYTHING is said.
- With six evictions having a live audience could this mean that the jury will only have five people? It would make sense that the jury members don’t have a live audience as they don’t want to “corrupt” them but only five people on the jury just doesn’t make sense. It’s something to think about but also makes me think that more then 13 people will be playing the game somehow.
