The CW is messing with us as 13 Fear Is Real jumped from its regular Wednesday night to Friday nights at 9. They decided to do this without little notice but thankfully my DVR saved the day as it recorded the new episode automatically. With Erica returning the guys formed a closer group and began targeting Erica as the killer. Steffinie used to be the main suspect, but the killer well, killed her off so now the target is Erica. While discussing Kelly and how she doesn’t seem to get the game, Mastermind came over the loudspeaker and told the players that they were moving. They all followed their map which told them to travel to “The Fort”. While some were happy to be leaving the cabin, others were worried that things would just get worse. Night fell as the players reached the fort and inside they reached yet another cassette player. Their new home is an old military fort where soldiers turned to cannibalism after food ran out. Its supposed to be “haunted” which is right up Cody’s ally considering he’s a ghost hunter.

After being told that the fort was haunted their execution challenge was on. Inside the fort were seven boxes which held safety. The two players to not find a key to open a box would go to the execution ceremony and possibly go home: ie be killed off. As Ted explored the tunnels his batteries on both his camera and flashlight died. Leah was freaking out with the darkness while Cody quickly found a bloody lung. He decided to poke his finger inside, finding the first key which led him to the first safety. Leah luckily found on in a bloody pot, seeming surprised and relieved. In order to unlock a box for safety those who had a key first had to get passed an alligator. Leah freaked out, as usual, but quickly learned the entire room was filled with alligators. Ted helped her get through the scary moment as she said sorry for saying mean things about him. At least she’s nice when scared. With Ted, Leah, Cody, Rodney and Nasser safe there were only two reprieves left.  Adam grabbed the second to last one while Melyssa grabbed the last one. That left Kelly and Erica being condemned in the execution ceremony where one would e killed off. Both have been to execution before so its time to show who wants it more.

Two Buried Alive On CW’s New 13: Fear Is Real

13: Fear Is Real paces, you guessed it, 13 players into the Louisiana Bayou to compete in a SAW styled competition where only the bravest survives to claim the $66,666 prize. The show is based off of several horror movies and is meant to force the players to experience real fear. The first few girls we meet claim to be afraid of most everything and are following into stereotypes. Another one obviously casted for a reason was Cody, a real life ghost hunter/rocker dude with mohwak and all. The scare tactics began early as the 13 were forced to walk the remainder of the way after their bus was stopped due to a “tree in the road”. At the end of the road their home for the duration of the game is in a broken down cabin, home to many horror flicks. Cody felt right at home while some wanted to clean the blood stains off the wall. Not sure but it seems some of them weren’t sure what they were getting into and weren’t ready to experience the fear produced by a simple house.

Lauren, the model, was excited to be in her own “horror movie” and most thought it was a movie when she applied, or was casted. Then we have Show who wants to be a rapper. Obviously they casted people who want to move out to Hollywood, at least they aren’t hiding it. While getting ready for bed something rant into the wall. As the cast walked outside there was a hatched with a note attached to it saying “answer the phone”. As the phone began to ring they realized it was under the floor. “The Mastermind” told them they were about to start playing a game, SAW much? Seems like its a real life SAW movie which could be fun, sadly nobody from the movie is actually attached to the show though. His first test was to perform a group ritual to test their fears. Someone had to stay behind on their own, and Cody decided to stay. They then had to pair up and walk down the road. Leah was freaking out since she doesn’t like dark or monsters but she still had to play. Some of the players then went down the road while the other half stayed at the cabin. Another girl, Laura, was freaking out but she had to sit in the cabin… just think how she’d freak if she was walking in the darkness.
