Today CBS released the 16 men and women that will be competing in Survivor Tocantins. The eighteenth season will head back to South America to showcase “The Brazilian Highlands”. The only twist really mentioned is that two survivors get singled out to start and do not join their tribe to start the adventure. Do they return to their group? I would assume so considering we are only starting with 16 Survivors so we’ll have to wait and see! Get to know the cast now since the premiere on February 12th is quickly approaching! Here we go, make sure to leave a comment when you’re done reading and discuss the cast with others!

Benjamin (Coach) / 37 / Bolivar, MO / Soccer Coach
Ben, who is known at “Coach”, seems to be very bipolar as he has so many sides to him. Not only does he hold the record for the longest solo kayak expedition, he’s a soccer coach and also started his own symphony. He’s basically a ton of people mixed into one, meaning he’ll be too crazy to understand or he’ll be able to get along with everyone. I think Ben could do well as long as he doesn’t bring his coaching style to the tribe and become an early leader. He reminds me of Ace a bit, just nicer and no British accent.

Brendan / 30 / New York, NY / Owns Bear Naked Foods
Brendan is someone I feel will have a hard time winning the game simply because he is already a millionaire. Owning his own company, Bear Naked Foods, Brendan is rich and nobody ever wants to reward the millionaire (ok Will Kirby is the exception). I think he’ll do well in the camp life setting considering he wants to be out there and that’s a plus for the show. I see him going far into the game, unless he reveals that he’s already rich and otherwise he’ll be out early.

Candace / 31 / Dayton, OH / Attorney
Candace seems to be the spitting image of our dear favorite Danielle from BB3. Although she has the looks it seems she has the brain to back it up and I feel she’ll be an early favorite, well at least of mine. Candace claims she won’t solely use her looks to her advantage but they will most likely help. It seems she doesn’t like fake people, and considering there probably is at least one out there I see a few potential fights brewing. Candace could be a force in the game as she has the physical and social skills to win. I just hope she wants to be there since it seems she was picked rather then applied.

Carolina / 26 / West Hollywood, CA / Bartender
When I first saw Carolina I really liked her, and then I saw she was from Hollywood…. yes she was picked to play rather the apply, most likely, and that always is a negative to me. But after watching her video and reading her bio I feel Carolina could be a good “hidden” player as nobody will see her as a threat. Considering the younger, good looking girls usually go first Carolina doesn’t have that great of a chance to stay BUT she may be interesting to watch. Being that she came from very little growing up in Panama she won’t be whining about camp life, and that I like.

Debbie / 46 / Auburn, AL / School Principal
Debbie is a true Survivor fan considering she’s apply several times. Rumor has it she was rejected for awhile for being too skinny, but after Courtney I doubt anyone is too skinny. Debbie deals with young kids in her everyday life and I feel she could deal with all the wackos Survivor has casted. She’s worried about being an older player but in the past few seasons we’ve seen that older players do well. She reminds me of Tina from Outback and if that’s true she’ll fly under the radar while playing the game through a larger figure. Will my prediction be right? Find out Feb 12th.

Erinn / 26 / Waukesha, WI / Hairstylist
Erinn reminds me of Jenn Morasca and considering she won the season in Brazil will the luck rub off on Erinn? She says that her job as a stylist is 15% styling and the rest getting people to like you and return to you for visits. I like that strategy and with that I feel she could become everyone’s friends. She may not be the most athletic out there, which can be good and bad, and she claims that she doesn’t get annoyed or angry easily. Erinn is an early favorite so far as she’s not one of those that will be out there for the drama. Hopefully she goes far and I think she just might.

Jerry / 49 / Rock Hill, SC / U.S. Army
Jerry will be one of those people that I think everyone will love. He gives off the ‘Bob’ vibe since he seems to be one who can do anything and make anything, something that will probably put him under the radar while bring a ton of stuff to the game. His military background could be beneficial as long as he doesn’t try to be the leader, which he wants to do. If Jerry sits back and let’s everyone fight amongst them while he becomes a good camp member he could go far. Plus if he gives us some good confessionals he’ll be one of the favorites, he’s already one of mine for sure.

Joe / 26 / Austin, TX / Real Estate
First off all its about time Survivor casts a guy named Joe! Other then that Joe seems a bit boring to me, which sucks since we share the same name and wanted to root for him. He hates people who hate losing and overall he hates drama. I don’t feel he really said anything else in his bio or his video, which really is a disappointment and hopefully, for the shows sake, he goes first.

JT / 24 / Samson, AL / Cattle Rancher
Now JT is someone who I feel is going to be great for the show and will most likely surprise everyone. He seems the type of guy who will be nice and do nothing wrong in the game. BUT he claims he will manipulate and lie to get himself to the end while also fitting in with everyone. He’s a cattle rancher so I sure he’ll be ok in the outdoors life, so he has an advantage there. He also has the numbers game going on in his head which is good early on as numbers wins the game. JT will be someone to watch for and one of my favorites so far.

Sandy / 53 / Louisville, KY / Bus Driver
Sandy reminds me of Sue from the original season and is obviously going to be either annoying or a great character. She’s the oldest person out there and since Bob won last season maybe she’ll jump on that ride. Sandy wants to form a group early on in the game but claims to play middle of the road. If she’s the one making the alliance, that’s now really the middle. I think Sandy will be out very early considering she wants to just be the “motherly type” and makes me think that her personality will annoy a few and she’ll probably be gone pre-merge.

Sierra/ 23 / Los Angeles, CA / Model
Yet another person picked from California, but at least she’s giving out her true occupation. I know I’m stereotyping the picked people but I feel people who apply should be casted over people who know nothing about the show. Sierra could be a good “pick” though since she’s traveled a lot and certainly adds to the eye candy of the show. Oh she also gives gives off a Sugar vibe and a Sugar 2.0 would be AMAZING. Although she doesn’t claim to play dumb, or act it on purpose, I think Sierra could do well if she actually wants to be there and puts herself into the right group.

Spencer/ 19 / Lakeland, FL / Student
This is the first season those under 21 were allowed to apply and because of that Spencer is the newest “youngest survivor” ever. Although he was thrown into the game last minute, since someone pulled out, Spencer could be a good character for the show since he’s a Survivor fan. He’s watched the show since Borneo and those who grew up with the show are finally getting old enough to cast. Spencer could be booted early due to his young age or he could do well since he knows how to play. His personality is pretty average but the other factors around him could prove interesting.

Stephen / 29 / New York, NY / Corporate Consultant
I like Spencer due to the fact that he’s the “geeky” character of the season. He wants to fade into the background and then come out strong towards the end: ie play like Bob. He wants to tell people to make big moves, pulling the strings while making other people seem evil and himself the nice guy. I like that strategy and if I played it would be the strategy I would use as well. I think Spencer has a good grasp of the game and will hopefully go really far, I hope.

Sydney/ 24 / Raleigh, NC / Model
What’s up with all the models? I mean don’t get me wrong she looks amazing but seriously Mark Burnett, go back to the basics and cast applicants! She claims that modeling is just paying the bills and also reveals she’s from California, not North Carolina like CBS.com says. Sydney could go far if she finds someone to string along and luckily she claims she won’t be the “puny girl” and do what she has to do to win. I hope that’s right and if all the girls who are “models” do as they say I feel this could be one of the better seasons.

Taj/ 37 / Nashville, TN/ Former Pop Singer
Taj could be the Crystal 2.0 of the season. She’s a former pop singer and is married to a former NFL player. She is nervous about being recognized by someone, which is possible as I’m sure they’ll cast someone who knows of her like Dani was to Gary in Guatemala. Taj claims to be very snappy yet nurturing at the same time. I feel like that could be a good strategy if she can help people when they are in their darkest times. She doesn’t have the most exciting personality but Taj seems to have a good head on her shoulders and could go far if given the right start.

Tyson/ 29 / Lindon, UT / Nashville, TN/ Pro Cyclist
If anyone saw Pirate Master you probably think this was the winner: Ben. It’s not but it could be his twin but then again he’s kind of boring as well. He wants to be there to “look nice” yet wants to push buttons just to test people. Apparently he wants to be there for show rather then winning which never gave anyone the million besides Richard Hatch. After Sugar last season its pretty obvious that annoying, lieing and cheating isn’t going to give you the win anymore so I doubt Tyson will win or get anyone near the million dollars.
So there you have it, the Survivor Tocantins cast is revealed and I’ve given you my honest opinion about all of them. Although it seems many of the cast members were picked to play, some are also Survivor fans so it seems to be an overall good balance. The last three seasons have been amazing so hopefully Tocantins will not disappoint. The cast is decent and the location seems decent as well. Throw in some twists and amazing challenges and who knows, we may have the best Survivor yet!
So what do you think of the Survivor Tocantins cast? Leave a comment and let us know what you think!

Survivor Gabon has had shocking tribal councils ever since the merge. Hell even before the merge with Ace going and tonight was no different. Last time, as well all know Corinne went thanks to a failed hidden idol. Returning back to camp thinks were a bit dramatic as Matty was fuming from the vote that Kenny gave him. Sugar was somehow unaffected and wanted to stick with Crystal and Kenny, although she probably cannot (sadly) beat them in the end. We were also given another cocky moment from Kenny who may take Corrine’s role. He claims to be the “master mind” in the game, and may be right. Kenny is the only one playing the game, and has been for awhile. At least Crystal admits to not playing the game and wants to get Matty back for the stupid decision she made for not voting him out.
Before going to bed both Kenny and Bob had a discussion. Kenny wasn’t happy that Bob lied about the fake idol and somehow made Bob feel guilty. He then told Kenny that he’d give him the immunity, if he wins it next round….. um what? Bob is an idiot, well maybe not completely but why? He owes nothing to Kenny and obviously doesn’t realize you HAVE to lie in the game of Survivor. The next day the final six competed in a game of swap basketball. After wading through the swap, to retrieve a ball, they would then have to score a basket to get another ball. First to make three won a trip to see gorillas and some food. The three girls were out of it the entire time and in the end Matty, Bob and Kenny were neck and neck. Bob scored the winning basket, giving him another reward and allowing him to take Kenny and Crystal. He send Susie to Exile, letting Sugar and Matty alone. Another stupid move by Bob.

Two blindsides in a row? Survivor Gabon just might be shaping up to continue the crazy status that Micronesia left it with. After the last episode where both tribes went to Tribal Council everyone was expecting the merge. Kota, after finally going to Tribal Council, was still somewhat considering who to vote out. Randy mentioned how it was hard that Dan went which made Susie laugh a bit. He was agitated that she would laugh and almost hoped she would have went. Believing they would merge the next round Marcus told Susie that she couldn’t swap on them. Corinne then had to speak up about Susie wanting to vote for her. At the last tribal Susie told Jeff that Corinne was the weakest. Corinne then went into crazy mode and claimed there was no way Susie was better then her in any way. Susie didn’t care though, she thinks she has power apparently. She can’t be anywhere closer to the truth that’s for sure.
Over at Fang things were normal as if they’ve gone to Tribal Council before! Matty was shocked that Ace was sent home and told them all they are officially Survivors. He also brought up the idea that he would probably go next since they all voted together but they ensured him he wouldn’t. Sugar then mentioned, in confessional, that she trusts Kenny more then she trusted Ace. Little does she know Kenny was the one lieing and as the night ended they all hoped for their merge and their feast the next day. Back over on Kota Corinne continued her Susie bashing as they went to find their “merge” tree mail. Before they read it Corinne continued her crazy as she wanted to bury Susie alive……. seriouslly does anyone else she needs to be taken out for psycho reasons? They then learned it was time to go to the beach with their personal items. Merge? So they thought but we would soon find out that wasn’t the case.

Generally Double Tribal Councils tend to hurt the game as they are used to vote off the weak and tend to be rather boring. Tonight’s Double Tribal was the complete opposite though as not one but two rather shocking votes offs took place. Once again we started at our favorite Fang tribe after their millionth tribal council. After voting off Kelly the group wasn’t much different but the next morning the food issue returned. After measuring out 30 scoops of rice, and complaining about their lack of it, Crystal then went on to spill the rice on the ground. Nobody really spoke up about it but you could tell they were all a bit pissed. She then went on to not eat the next meal and quarreled with Ace about it. It kind of solidified Ace and Matty’s alliance as both were angry about the rice. It’s crazy how a simple mistake always screws someone over in Survivor.
Over at Kota Corrine’s self proclaimed bitchy side finally showed through! She’s no Jerri Manthey but definitely approaching crazy Natalie! Dan was the focus of the pre-reward segment as he told everyone that he needed to fit into the group. Nobody really talks to him yet he remains paranoid and basically begged to be accepted. It surely hurt him as it made the others see him as somewhat an idiot. I mean Corinne even called him a “once fatty” and “scared as a kid” while Marcus kind of said it…. but in a nicer way. It was then off to the next reward challenge where the winning tribe would go on a helicopter ride and lunch to a canyon in Gabon. It was a large game of monkey in the middle where the tribes would through a breakable ball around a ring while an opposing tribe member would try and break the ball.

Tonight’s Survivor showcased another Fang loss, two to be exact and another Fang Tribal Council. After last weeks vote out of GC both Ace and Sugar knew something had to happen in order to keep them safe the next round. When Matty realized he wasn’t really in with anyone in the tribe he pulled Ace aside. The two then created an alliance based on swearing on a loved one. Matty swore on his girlfriend while Ace swore on his mother that they would never vote each other out. They quickily disbanded, knowing they weren’t really trusting each other but at least it adds something to the lacking strategy of Fang.
Over at Kota they began to complain about something. Guess all isn’t happy in perfect land. With their abundance of food Kota has been eating well but one tribe member has been eating too well. It seems Dan has been eating four portions per meal and it isn’t sitting to well with Corrine. She doesn’t understand why she has to feed Dan and Dan alone. Maybe if she would throw a challenge things would be all better! Back over at Fang food issues were also springing up. Since they only have six days of rice left everyone realized they weren’t doing so well. Sugar and Ace took some time to forget about their food shortage by discussing the idol. Somehow Ace knew that the others found Sugar’s idol and told her about it. She then said she would give it to Ace, for “safe keeping” and in reality handing over her safety to the devil. He didn’t try to dissuade her so she handed it over, it sure didn’t last long though!

Why is it that each and every season there tends to be a tribe that just sucks? Gabon’s resident “horrible” tribe is Fang who, once again, lost double challenges and sent yet another out of the game. As we begin from last episode we join the Fang tribe post-tribal council. Ace wasn’t too happy with Jacquie going home but was at least excited to have Sugar back. She returned from her third run in with Exile Island to learn Kelly stayed while Jacquie was voted out. Sugar wasn’t happy as well as she was close to Jacquie and hid her anger through the dark.
The next morning the old Fang members over at Kota were realizing how much better their lives were. They had food food and more food with the several fish they caught. They even had a very interesting shocking fish, which made a somewhat boring moment at least somewhat interesting. Back over at Kota things were completely opposite with the fighting beginning once again. While cooking rice, GC didn’t want to eat but was told by Crystal to eat his rice. She was doing so in a very joking manor but GC couldn’t take it and fought back. Ace was excited for it all though knowing there were cracks in the alliance of old Fang members. That’s all he really needed to weasel his way to the next round.
