Big Brother 11 began were it last left off: immediately following the nomination ceremony where Chima and Lydia went up on the block. Since Chima knew she was going up she didn’t really care, Lydia was upset however and didn’t understand why she was nominated. Many followed her into the Pool Room such as Jordan, Jeff, Braden and Kevin. They wanted her to realize that she would not be going home, as they had the votes, and Chima listened in. She was worried that her being the pawn may actually backfire considering everyone is consoling Lydia yet nobody consoled her. It’s true that Lydia probably would stay over Chima, something the group did not figure out.

This then led to the huge blowout towards the end as Russell realized that Jeff has jumped the Athlete’s ship. He was not part of the decision making for the nominations and was hanging out with everyone BUT them. The target on Jeff grew even larger as Russell walked past Jeff and Jordan sitting together in the living room. Its obvious on the feeds that the two have grown closer and after realizing that, Russell knew that their plan may backfire. He then went straight to Jessie and they discussed the issue. They talked about making Jeff a target with the house and that plan went into full effect following the veto challenge.

Speaking of the Power of Veto challenge the first of the season was shown tonight with all the Athlete’s playing. It was something Lydia did NOT want… it just kind of happened. In the end the six players were Jessie, Lydia, Chima, Natalie, Russell and Jeff. The challenge was to pop several “zits” to find scrabble letters inside. The person who could form the longest word would win the Power of Veto and the could remove someone from the block. It was a fun challenge to watch, yet again, as they busted open the zits and had “puss” all over them. Lydia went for “civilization” but had trouble finding the Vs while Chima tried to spell out “superficiality”. Neither could find the letters to spell their words though and ultimatly lost. It was then down to one of the Athletes. Jessie spelled his word wrong while Jeff spelled a word that doesn’t exist “technotronics”. That left Natalie and Russell as the winner and with the word “shotgun”, Russell won the Power of Veto and began thinking how it could be used.

Before we got to any other real strategy a segement of only Braden was shown. Hmm I wonder why? It showed Braden acting somewhat strange, but in a normal way, and Russell talking about how he is well liked by everyone in the house. That’s not a good thing according to Russell as he could easily sway people to his side and so the plan to put up Braden began. Following the veto challenge Lydia went to Russell and told him that she wanted to stay. She threw Jeff’s name and Braden’s name out there for “getting away easy” and Russell’s mind started turning. Lydia’s plan was to do anything to stay, and that she did. Next she went to Jessie and Natalie and confronted her for wanting her on the block. Natalie told her that yes, she did want her nominated and somehow that removed the animosity between them. In the end Lydia threw Braden under the bus and brought is name up to Jessie as a replacement nominee. He liked the idea of getting out a guy and someone who he thought he wouldn’t have on his side. Making Lydia a power player already, now if she would only realize how big of an idiot Jessie is and go against him next week.

The next morning the talk about Jeff being against the Athletes culminated as Russell wanted to embrace him. He went into the backyard screaming how stupid Jeff was for spelling a word that didn’t exist, but it didn’t seem to phase Jeff. They argued about Jeff not wanting to be with their clique and not liking Russell or Natalie and with that Natalie jumped in. She was upset that Jeff’s hands didn’t get dirty for the nomination but why should they have? Jessie was the HoH so that doesn’t mean they all should be blamed for nominations, but apparently she wanted to be. The two had it out as well and with little feedback from the houseguests on the fight we have NO clue what they thought about it. Um…. note to the editors. When someone has a fight LET US KNOW WHAT THE OTHERS THINK! Thank you.

With the plan to save Lydia in motion Russell discussed the idea with Ronnie. In return Ronnie went straight to Jordan/Jeff and filled them in. That led them to call in Braden to let him know he was going up. He didn’t seem to care but Russell caught on that he knew and immediately confronted Ronnie. He blew it off though and played like he didn’t say anything, but Russell knew. He and Jessie talked about Ronnie playing both sides. Jessie didn’t seem to buy it but Russell did, or it could just all be in the editing to make it seem like Ronnie could go up. In the end the Power of Veto ceremony played out like Ronnie was told with Lydia coming off and Braden going up. It seems he could be the one going as Chima is still the pawn. Thursday’s episode will surely have some fireworks with all the fights this week and it will be one to watch so tune in!
