With the guys locked down it was time to get to the investigation but things started off rather bad. Zak poked Nick in the eye, saying it was “dangerous” for being pitch black but they moved on. In the hallway a nurse was said to be seen. The dark light was back in action but while waving it around the guys felt and heard something. They could hear something talking after asking questions, followed by a door making a loud noise. The voice was heard again, and captured on tape, so they continued to investigate the nurse. To “lure” her out Zak decided to put himself in a straight jacket and sit in the room. The stunt caught a man’s voice on an EVP and a strange voice when used to make one. With that the guys left the nurse alone and headed down into the tunnels.

Being in the tunnel only a few minutes some craziness went down. Zak caught a very strange shadow hand popping into his camera and freaked everyone out. It was pretty strange but sure seemed real, well shadow real. Being in the darkened tunnels made things a bit confusing for the guys. They ended up in the morgue where it was time for Nick to sleep in the death shelf. While Nick was in the shelf the other two guys went back into the tunnels to do some EVPs. The two found a new building, leaving Nick really alone and set to freak out. The voices returned, both for Zak/Aaron and also Nick. He heard someone outside the morgue while also catching an EVP saying “die”. He then started experiencing chills throughout his body along with knocking on the door. With the knocking it was time for Nick to get out but the door was still locked. Zak and Aaron knew something was up when Nick wouldn’t respond so they searched for their way back into the morgue. With doors locking and strange feelings everyone was freaking out. Zak thought someone was following them while Nick was going crazy. After an hour in the morgue Nick was finally free when the guys found him. When outside the morgue Nick was hit by an orb, followed by a red mark on his face and pain. The crew feels it could have been a spirit slapping Nick in the face, all caught on tape through an orb.

This tie with Matty played a role in the next reward challenge which brought back the Survivor Auction. Each of the players were given $500 and given the chance to bid on several items. First up were three cold beers and it was a bidding war between Randy and Sugar. She kept bidding to get Randy’s bid higher and higher and it worked. After getting the beer, Randy was left with only $320. The next item up was the dreaded covered item and Kenny took it home. It was a note to send someone to Exile Island and gain their money. Kenny didn’t waste any time and sent Bob to exile once again, knowing there is no idol and knowing Bob thinks there is. Sugar, who had been very vocal, got the next item of chocolate and peanut butter while Susie won a bubble bathe. Corinne won the only other individual reward in an advantage in the next immunity challenge. Kenny could have outbid her but in the end he didn’t need it. The last item was for the tribe and Randy won cookies for everyone. Although it was a nice gesture he turned into an idiot. He wanted to “own all the cookies” and designated who got the most. He gave Corinne and Matty one and half each while everyone received one. In the end only one cookie remained and, since she didn’t take one at first, Sugar took the last cookie and gave it to Matty. Randy wasn’t to happy about that move and made everyone know when returning to camp.

His second time in Exile Island didn’t give Bob any new clues to the idol so he decided to take a safari of his own. He ventured out into the wilderness and had a fun experience on Exile it seemed. Back at camp things weren’t as great. Randy was fuming from the move that Sugar played and realized that things were going his way. After realizing that Matty thought Sugar gave him the cookie, not Randy, that made things worse. Randy realized that Matty was close with the other group but still had to try and sway him over. Both he and Corinne talked to Matty and although he didn’t say he would work with them, he did try to save Randy when the five tried to talk against him. Kenny, Crystal, Susie, Sugar and Matty were all talking about who to vote off in the hut when Randy walked up. He seemed angry at Matty was talking to the enemy, sending Randy on a rant and creating one crazy strategy. He wanted to piss everyone off in hopes of Bob finding the idol and saving him at Tribal Council. The first part of his plan played off without a hitch as Randy lashed out on Susie for being annoying. The last part…. not so much.

Following Randy’s craziness it was time for the next immunity challenge. The challenge was split into two parts with three moving onto the second. The first part had the players moving three bags of puzzles over a balance beam. The first three across would move onto the second part of the challenge. There the survivors would have to balance several large domino pieces while avoiding trip wires. The first to knock over all the dominoes would win immunity. Corinne’s advantage was then revealed and she was able to avoid the first part and move directly into the last part of the challenge. It was a bit unfair but was worth $500 hands down. In the first part only Kenny, Matty, Susie and Bob had a chance. Matty and Kenny were across the beam first and pitted them against Corinne in the finals. There all three were rather equal and it came down to all three pushing their blocks over at the same time. Both Matty’s and Corinne’s stopped half way, giving Kenny the win and Corinne and Randy somewhat of a death sentence.

Back at camp the mood was high for Kenny’s win but it was quickly overshadowed by Randy and Corinne’s mob for Bob to give Randy the idol. Before they could get to him, Bob went to Sugar and told her that he didn’t find the idol. She still hasn’t let on that she has it but I have a feeling she may at some point. While discussing the idol, and Bob’s name being thrown out there to go by Matty, Sugar told Bob to give Randy the fake idol and watch it play out. Bob figured it wasn’t going to help him anyway so he might as well entertain the most powerful woman in Gabon. When Corinne, and then Randy, basically demanded for Bob to give Randy the idol…. he did. It was all a plan of sabotage from Sugar but at least it got a good laugh. Only Sugar and Bob knew what was coming but everyone was in on the laugh when it came time for it. At Tribal Council Sugar couldn’t keep a straight face. Randy didn’t really go off on anyone, even though Crystal tried. All the fun came post, well almost post, votes. Crystal was last up and spoke so loudly while casting her vote that everyone could hear. Nobody said anything about it but it was obvious she knew what she was doing. Before the votes were read, Randy stood up to give the idol to Jeff. When everyone, but Randy and Corinne, saw this it was utter laughter. They all knew what was coming as Jeff threw the fake idol into the fire. Randy and Corinne’s faces were stoned when that happened as Randy walked off, rather quiet, with a vote of five to three. Seriously. Sugar is freaking genius!

When learning that he had to make a hot dog, Fabio got a bit nervous as he didn’t know what a hot dog really was. Everyone else didn’t really to have any problems though, being from America, but they sure made some interesting dishes. Who would of thought you could make hot dog sushi or even mixed with some Indian spices? Well you can and they apparently tasted pretty good! The only ones who the two tasters didn’t enjoy were Jill and Stefan’s. Jill didn’t make her own hot dog while Stefan’s was just over thought. Although they didn’t mark her as one of the worst, Jamie’s did have a bone in it. Guess Padma didn’t care if she chocked or not though. After dishing out the worst it was time for the best. Hosea and Fabio received recognition but the win went to Radhika. Since she was in the bottom twice last week it was a sigh of relief as she now has immunity for the elimination round.

Now that the Quick Fire was over it was time to get right into the Elimination Challenge. Padma let the chefs know that they would be opening the “Top Chef Restaurant” in New York. Five of them had to do one of the three dishes for the night and craziness ensued. They all were babbling about which they wanted until Jeff took control. He told everyone to go to a section of the room depending on what they wanted to do. Luckily they were able to spread out evenly, giving five the appetizers, five the main course and five the desert. After  buying all their supplies at the grocery store the chefs returned to the kitchen to prepare. There a few were surprised at Jill’s choice to use ostrich eggs. She had no clue how to break it open so Jamie, for instance, felt Jill was stupid for making such a stupid choice. At the end of their allotted two hours head chef Tom then showed up. It was time to reveal a few things about their restaurant that they were opening: it was Tom’s. Tom was opening his new chain in New York and they would be feeding 50 of the chefs who tried out for the show who didn’t make it. Everyone was nervous about trying to appease people who would probably be out to get them but it sure was fun to watch!

The next day it was time for the judges to cook for the 50 hungry Top Chef wannabees. Most had good luck in cooking but both Carla and Ariane had some issues. Ariane wanted everyone to taste her desert martini, but while asking Richard he let her know how it tasted “just fine”. In confessional he let us know how bad it really was and knew that it was game on. Carla’s problem wasn’t that bad but she wasn’t getting her apple tart the way she wanted it and it seemed to stress her out. When it was about time to serve their dishes, Tom came into the kitchen to bark out the orders. Everyone was nervous with Tom in the kitchen, they should have been though considering it was HIS kitchen and HIS restaurants name on the line. As the judges shuffled in it was obvious that they were ready to pounce. They were mostly upset that they didn’t make the show and would do anything to get their 2 minutes of fame and get on the air at least once.

Appetizers were up first and all five shipped their dishes out to the eaters and judges. Jamie’s was up first and she predicted that her corn puree would give her either a win or top three. Hosea also thought the same about his crab cakes but he wasn’t so lucky in the psychic department. Leah’s potatoes and scallops weren’t the best but did get some comments from the judges. They really didn’t comment on the taste but felt the presentation was from the 80s, not “new” American. The judges were surprised by Fabio’s dish which contained olives with a hardened outside and liquid middle. Last up was Melissa, where did she come from, who made a grilled avocado. The judges, and eaters, felt it was too easy and standard. Guess her food was as memorably as her personality.

With all the appetizers out in the dinner room it was time for the entrees to go out. Jill’s crazy ostrich egg dish was up first and nobody liked the taste. Padma felt it tasted like glue while the other judges commented that it tasted muddy. Gene’s dish was a meat loaf and he, like some others, was judged on his presentation lacking. Stefan’s halibut was compared to Jill’s gooey dish but in a good was as the judges felt that his dish was “like the ostrich egg done right”. Jeff had some trouble in the kitchen making his chicken dish as it took longer then expected. Tom was getting agitated it seemed but at least the judges felt it was good. Alex was up last and he made pork tenderloin. Most of the people they interviewed about it didn’t like it that much, but I think there was a stand out “loser” on the entree that saved him.

Last up we have the deserts which had the worst reviews of them all. Radhika’s dish went out first as she made avocado moose. She had immunity, and the judges felt it was lucky that she did. They didn’t understand why she would choose avocado but she did. Daniel’s dish was a pound cake that went over well with the judges. Earlier Ariane had issues with her desert martini being to sweet. Apparently she didn’t take that into any consideration as Padma spit out her bite. The others felt it was way too sweet as well. Richard’s desert was a banana bread sandwich which the judges felt was too “after school snackish” but at least they liked it. Last up was Carla’s somewhat dysfunctional apple tart. She left a piece of cheese, randomly, on the plate but the judges still felt her desert was the best.

When all the dishes were out and the judges done eating it was time for Tom to test all the dishes. He too a bite of each in front of everyone, making everyone a bit nervous; especially Gene. While Tom tasted the food it was time for the chef wannabees to get their 15 minutes in. They all complained about something and said how they would have made something better then what they ate. Of course they SAY that but we all know they didn’t make the show for a reason. When Tom returned to the judges table it was time to discuss. They were all disappointed that the food wasn’t as good as the week before, saying that they weren’t “new” American enough and overall not impressed. Back at the Top Chef kitchen it was time for the official judges table. Carla, Hosea, Jamie, Ariane, Jill and Fabio were all called out and it was time to separate the winners from the losers.

Carla’s judging was up first and was shocked to learn that the judges loved her desert. Her cheese was really the only complaint. Next up was Fabio who thought the judges were about to rip his dish apart. He went on to stick up for his food but Padma filled him in that his was actually one of the better dishes. He left out a sigh of relief and basically shut up. Jill’s dish was last up for being praised but Fabio’s dish ended up winning the round. Making the two European guys two for two and showing that they are a force to be reckoned with. With those three as the best it was time to send another packing. While Hosea predicted his dish would give him a win this round it was the complete opposite. Those we tasted the food said that they knew the crab was from a can and Tom said the ingredients just didn’t go well together. Ariane was back in the bottom and Padma let her know about her spitting incident. None of the judges liked the too sweet taste but apparently they liked it enough. Jill was the one who, in the end, had to pack her knifes and go. The judges just didn’t like the fact that she couldn’t stick up for the fact that her food sucked. She tried to back up her reasons but her stammering and nervousness was probably the reason Jill was sent home.

After landing in Kazakhstan the three teams on the first flight rushed to the first location: a chicken factory. There they realized they couldn’t do anything until 7:30 in the morning, creating an equalizing and allowing Terrence/Sarah and Dan/Andrew to catch up. When the gates finally did open everyone rushed to the clue box. It was time for the rounds Road Block where one team member would have to search through several chickens looking for a golden egg. Inside the clue was also the last Fast Forward for the season. Both Terrence/Sarah and Nick/Starr rushed to bypass all tasks, meaning one would have to return to finish the rest of the leg. Inside the chicken coupe Toni was first to find an egg. She and Dallas then rushed to find a crane truck while Andrew and Tina found an egg. They ended up leaving around the same time and both were on their way to find a crane.

Since both Nick/Starr and Terrence/Sarah went for the Fast Forwarded they were battling against each other to obtain it. At the task they learned that in order to get the Fast Forwarded both team members would have to eat a large portion of fat from a sheep’s butt. Since Terrence is a vegetarian it was obvious who would win the Fast Forward as Terrence/Sarah headed back to the Road Block and giving Nick and Starr their fifth first place in a row. Oh how surprising. For the other four teams who actually have to work to complete the race, they were headed off to find Mongol Warriors. Dallas/Toni were first to find the warriors and gained their clue to their Detour from a flying eagle. As they walked back to their taxi Ken and Tina arrived. Dan and Andrew had even more trouble with their crane truck but eventually found directions from the “awful people of Kazakhstan”. While they were arguing at the Mongol Warrior hill Sarah found the golden egg and got them back on track after the Fast Forward.

Now that everyone had the egg found it was time for the Detour. All teams decided to act like fools and hike through Kazakstahn streets wearing a cow costume. Toni/Dallas and Ken/Tina ended up pretty equal on the Detour but after Dallas missed the milk kart Ken and Tina were able to catch up. Only problem was that they forgot that their clue was on their glass and it let Toni/Dallas pull ahead. The quickly found the meat market and that propelled them back into second place. Along the way they came around Ken and Tina who took off their cow costume. They didn’t realize it had to stay on during the rest of the leg so they had to go back, put on the cow costume and finish the Detour. Luckily it didn’t hurt them, other then time, as Ken/Tina were able to finish back in third place. That left the race for last between Terrence/Sarah and Dan/Andrew.

Andrew and Dan were ahead of Terrence and Sarah thanks to their Fast Forward mishap but their lack of direction, and clue reading, put Dan and Andrew back a bit. Not only did they forget their shoes where they put on their cow costume, they also couldn’t find anyone to help them location the milk stand. Once they did that they Dan and Andrew were back on track, for a little. They decided to take a taxi to the pit stop where their clue clearly said to walk. Phil then sent them back to the end of the Detour where the guys had to walk back to the mat. As both teams raced to the mat it seemed they were fairly even. Dan and Andrew argued, once again, during their trek back to Phil since Andrew couldn’t keep up with Dan. They both said they had to keep quiet during parts of the race and it seems their laughable nature is fading quickly. In the end Dan and Andrew were able to beat Terrence and Sarah out. Their going for the Fast Forward hurt them and although Phil teased them by pausing, they ended up being the next eliminated from the Amazing Race.

As the nights investigation began things started rather early. While the guys were moving their equipment in Zak spotted a guy walking through one of the doors. It put everyone in the mood for the hunt and sent them directly into the hidden tunnel. There they heard footsteps but one experience beat any of them. Aaron was poked in the eye by, what they presume, was a spirit. He wanted to leave the tunnel right there and then but they made him continue only to hear more footsteps and freaking them out even more. They then decided to move outside for a bit and were surprised by a glowing light. They checked to see what it was but nothing was found. A mist was also caught on their one static cam, they weren’t there to check what it was though so it could have been anything. After moving down into the boiler room the guys starting hearing more noises but realized they should separate.

With Aaron in the control room Nick headed off to the hidden tunnel while Zak went back into the boiler room. Alone in the tunnel Nick was able to catch an EVP saying “I hate Zak”. Zak was having another spirit hate him at the same time as he pushed for Slag to show himself. He didn’t really show himself but did make himself heard. Zak continued hearing knocking on the pipes and caught an EVP saying “come here”. Back down in the tunnel Nick was having some more activity. He heard someone say “come on” right behind him, scaring him out of his seat and sending him running. Following that a mist showed on the screen with a prominent figure of an arm. It was hard to see but still very interesting and shows just how active the plant is. Following the investigation they took their findings to California for cleaning up. The guy who was helping them was able to make the EVPs sound much clearer and some of the mist clearer as well. Hopefully next week they find some more ghosts as they take on another penitentiary, this time in New Jersey.

At the next reward challenge it was all about slingshot golf. When Fang got their first glimpse at the new Kota both Corinne’s and Charlie’s mouths dropped. They were very angry and let everyone know. Corinne claimed that Marcus didn’t deserve to go, while Kenny fought back saying nobody deserves to go. Charlie was less subtle, saying that he’s upset that Marcus went but still mad. For the actual challenge the two tribes would play best two out of three, facing off in slingshot golf. They would slingshot a ball towards a flag poll, the first to get it in the sand pit near the flag would gain a point. Kota was able to gain the first point thanks to Bob’s crazy shot while Fang rebounded by getting the second point. That pit the two tribes against each other in the last course. Kota landed right next to the sand pit while Fang bounced a little too far. While trying to get the ball only two inches from the pit Randy started freaking out. They were obviously going to get it in no matter what yet he wanted perfection. In the end Matty plopped the ball into the pit, giving Fang their first reward win as a new team.

With their win Fang was able to take a visit to a Gabonese village where they were bathed and fed. There Corinne became friends with a little girl, who would have thought. Matty also blabbed about being happy that Marcus was gone. Apparently he didn’t get the memo from the reward challenge that Corinne/Charlie were kind of in love with him. Randy was as acting a bit odd as he danced and continued to become crazier by the second. Over at Kota, who is becoming the new losers of the show, showed that Kenny is in some power. After getting stuck on a stick with the canoe, Kenny was able to catch three fish for the ladies back at camp. He then let us know how powerful he is… blah blah blah. He may be right though. It was odd seeing someone new at Exile Island as it was Bob’s first time there. Sugar got a reprieve this round but it turned into something interesting. Bob found the location of the idol but didn’t realize that it was missing. So he decided to fashion a fake one. It looks fairly real, but anyone who knows about Sugar’s idol will immediacy know its a fake.

Next up we have the immunity challenge. It was rather simple but ended with surprising results. Before Jeff explained the challenge he let everyone know that they were now merged! Everyone was excited to be in the new “blue” tribe and finally get to the next stage of the game. With tribe now merged it was time for the first individual immunity. It was simple, burn through the rope and you’ll get immunity. Everyone immediately started to get a flame, sparking their flints and getting some sparks. Suzie and Sugar both go flames early on with Suzie winning the first individual immunity in the end. Who would have thunk it but hey more power too her. Oh before they finally got back to Fang tribe for the merged camp Randy let us know his hatred for Crystal. He’s now calling her “big foot” so it seems things may get heated if she finds out!

Back at the Fang camp, which is now the Nogab campe, everyone was together for the first time and ready for the new game. Although they had more food and new items they were all about gameplay and things started quickly. Corinne/Charlie/Bob/Randy reconnected and formed one half of the tribe while old Fang reconnected with Suzie/Crystal/Matty/Kenny. Sugar was basically alone and on both sides and that’s where the fun came in. Corinne and Charlie wanted to vote out Crystal, thanks to Randy’s nudging, and pestered Sugar to do so as well. She realized they were always mean to her until they needed her yet still wasn’t sure what to do. Over on the other side the new foursome was much happier and had a better plan. They wanted to blindside Charlie, thanks to Kenny’s coaxing, and they all agreed. It all relied on Sugar’s vote and right up until she voted she had no clue what to do. During the Tribal Council Crystal’s mouth got her in trouble again as she pushed Randy over the edge. Both went at it for awhile debating what Randy hated Crystal and it showed how crazy both were. In the end a first happened on the show. Jeff had to ask Randy who his vote was for since he simply wrote “C.C”. It was for Crystal but still he had to ask! With four votes for Crystal and four for Charlie it all came down to Sugar’s vote. She voted for Charlie, sending him to friend Marcus in the jury and creating the third blindside in a row. Thank you Sugar!
